CHAPTER 109: 109 - FINISHING WHAT I STARTED [5]

(Ervin’s POV)

—Kiieek!!!

Phuck–

"UGH...!!"

"HELP ME!!!"

"GRAAAH!!!"

S L A S H–!

"Keouk...!"

—KIEEEKEE!!!

’Ugh... My stomach...’

I groaned internally as my stomach started to churn at the hideous scene unfolding in front of me.

"ERVIN!! PLEASE JUST KILL ME QUICKLY!!!"

Sean screamed at me.

He’s currently being r*ped... by a female goblin!

And at the same time, some goblins are torturing him by slowly inflicting non-lethal but painful cut wounds on him!

–Kikikiki...

–Kihihihiki.

And the goblins are laughing while doing that to him!

Sean was already pale, and he’s slowly dying...

Also, he isn’t the only one experiencing this—Barry and the others as well!

I just don’t notice them as much because they’re still silenced by Raven’s magic.

"So it works on monsters too, huh... That’s interesting."

Psh–

Raven mumbled and shot a goblin that was planning on attacking us.

Then, he suddenly frowned.

"This scene is disgusting."

Phushk–!

After that, a black whip-like sword blade suddenly grew from his back and stabbed a goblin that was about to ambush him from above!

(It’s [Celestria])

’What a monster...’

I thought as I was watching Raven kill any goblins coming at us with such ease.

Raven is arrogant, childish, reckless, and he doesn’t seem to be that smart.

’But he has his own way of doing things— he always simplifies things and acts in the most efficient way he can...’

"Whelsp mi plish!"

Anyway, at that moment... I heard Sean’s pathetic pleading. His voice was quite ragged and he couldn’t speak properly anymore because the goblins damaged his tongue too.

It hasn’t even been that long since the goblins started attacking him, but the damage he’s received is already massive and irreversible!

That normally wouldn’t happen to someone like Sean, but right now, he and the others can’t use mana or skills... Making them no different than normal civilians

Looking at Raven’s disgusted face, I can’t help but frown.

’I take my words back about Raven not being that smart... He’s actually witty... Disgustingly so...’

I said to myself.

Raven is the one who planned everything that was happening right now.

His plan was to eliminate Sean and his subordinates who wanted to take revenge on him.

It started when he invited me to a private meeting yesterday... in a cafe just outside the academy.

And I agreed.

Why? Because he gave me an offer I couldn’t reject.

’And that was revenge for my dead parents.’

I don’t know how Raven discovered my goal, but I wasn’t going to let such an opportunity pass. I would at least check on it.

So even if Raven was just deceiving me, I was so desperate that I still wanted to hear him out.

But fortunately, he didn’t... When I met with him, he told me his plan— and how I could get my revenge.

First, I needed to gather Barry and the others who were deeply connected with Sean at The Sad Mountain.

It’s the mountain we’re currently on right now...

Apparently, Raven owns a private land in this mountain.

And "coincidentally," there’s a dungeon inside that land.

[The Stygian Lair]

’I call the "coincidentally" part bullshit... This Raven dude is really shady as fuck...’

Anyway, I easily lured and gathered Barry and the others here by telling them Sean wanted us all to meet.

And after the first part, I also needed to somehow bring Sean here too.

The second part was actually easy too, since Sean was sure as hell I wouldn’t betray him. So I just used some sweet words and fed his ego to make him agree to come with me.

And lastly, I had to make all of them drink the iced coffees that Raven made.

All of the iced coffees were drugged— except mine...

And the drugs weakened whoever drinks or consumes them. It also prevents them from using mana or skills.

(Raven bought the drugs from [Paradise] using the money he earned after selling some items he stole from Sean and Barry.)

Anyway, those three steps were all I had to do.

Also, I remember Raven saying:

"Everything will go well after you do the three steps. I’m about 94% sure."

...I asked him why it wasn’t 100%, and he answered:

"Because I can’t predict the future. I always consider that my plans can fail."

"That’s why I always make other plans in case one fails."

Raven is weird and kinda crazy— but he’s also someone who always thinks a few steps ahead.

"Hmm... Sean and the others are dead."

Anyway, as I was stuck in my own thoughts, Raven suddenly informed me of Sean and the others’ deaths.

’And here I was wondering why I couldn’t hear his pathetic begging anymore...’

I thought as I looked at Sean’s dead body and the others’.

Their bodies are covered in wounds, and it makes me cringe in pain just by looking at them.

I can see their bones sticking out, and the goblins started pulling out their organs.

And Sean... His body is being licked by the female goblins, and some goblins are eating his flesh like zombies.

The scene in front of me is so gruesome that I want to throw up...!

I looked at Raven. He’s frowning, but he seems to be doing just fine.

Then I heard him mumble something—

"I don’t feel much guilt for killing them, even though it’s my first time... Maybe it’s because I don’t really consider them human."

"It’s just disgusting seeing all the blood scattered around. It looks dirty."

That’s what he said.

Plain and flat— like it was just a simple observation.

But for some reason, I couldn’t shake the uneasiness in my chest.

Swoosh~

Then suddenly— out of thin air, a familiar black katana appeared in his right hand.

My body froze for a moment. Chills ran through my spine as soon as I saw it—

That blade...

That exact same blade...

It was the one that sliced through my neck during the assessment test!

Swiish–

After that, something strange happened.

A black substance, like living smoke or shadow— slithered its way up Raven’s torso. It crawled up his skin, wrapped itself around him, and soon—

It changed.

It solidified into a plain black long sleeve, tightly fitted to his body like it belonged there all along.

Fwish–

And then came the armor.

Simple, sleek black light armors formed on top of some parts of his body.

One on his shoulder... his right arm... a few on his chest and waist.

Each piece materialized like magic, clicking perfectly into place, yet making no sound.

It wasn’t flashy. It wasn’t dramatic.

But it was cool as hell.

I didn’t want to admit it, but...

It was amazing watching him do all that.

It honestly felt like I was watching one of my childhood heroes transform in front of me.

Like those scenes where the protagonist suits up just before the big fight.

He really had that aura...

"Hey, get ready."

But just like that, Raven’s voice pulled me back into reality.

"Ready for what?"

I asked, still caught up by everything I just saw.

He glanced at me... And smiled.

A confident, relaxed smile.

"To get stronger."

Raven stated, then turned around and looked forward.

I followed his gaze...

–Kieek...

–Kireek...

–Kiee...

And saw the horde of goblins slowly approaching us, still wary.

"Their toys are already broken, so now they think they’ll take us as their new ones."

I heard Raven say beside me.

"Goblins are weak, but still be careful."

He added.

Then, with an excited smile on his face...

BAM–!

Raven propelled himself forward into the horde.

SWISH–

He was so fast that he immediately reached a group of goblins at the front of the horde!

Fwiish~

I saw Raven do a full 360-degree spin.

Swoosh–!

Then he extended his right hand and the katana he was holding.

S L A S H–!

He decapitated a few goblins immediately with just one swing!

Tap–

And when Raven landed on the ground—

BAM–!

He immediately kicked off the ground again!

Swoosh–

Raven’s figure disappeared from my sight! I know he’s fast from the assessment test when he eliminated me, but seeing it now—

’He’s really crazy fast...’

S L A S H–!

The next time I saw Raven— he was already at the very back of the goblin horde, and he already killed another group of goblins.

Raven stood confidently, looking right at me.

Thud– Thud– Thud– Thud–

Then at that moment, countless goblin heads hit the ground!

THUD!

And their bodies followed right after.

"What the hell..."

I mumbled, my mouth hung open a bit.

Raven just killed about one-fourth of the horde in an instant!

"..."

I was speechless and all I could do was stare back at Raven.

Raven smirked at me, then opened his mouth—

"If you don’t move soon, I’ll get this done by myself."

He said, a casual smile on his face.

I snapped out of my stupor at that moment— then I took out my weapon from my spatial storage too.
