RE: The Extra's Dominance
Chapter 136 - The Obadiah’s Awakening
CHAPTER 136: 136 - THE OBADIAH’S AWAKENING
After immediately dealing with the monsters, Eve and the others continued their advance...
"You should’ve left some monsters alive for me..."
Alec then mumbled, his voice low, sounding slightly down as he walked with his shield resting against his arm.
"No fair... I want some action too."
Blake then followed with the same energy as Alec, his tone carrying that same disappointed frustration, almost like a child who just missed out on playing his favorite game.
"..."
Curtis isn’t saying anything, but his hands keep fidgeting around the hilt of his sword. His steps are heavier than usual, showing just how impatient he is. The way his jaw tightened every few seconds made it clear— he was itching for a fight.
And seeing them like that... Eve couldn’t do anything but frown, her brows knitting together as she struggled to find a response.
"..."
She couldn’t say anything because she didn’t even know what to say in that situation! How was she supposed to deal with three restless boys acting like they’d been cheated out of fun?
Adelle, Raven, and Aoi were staying silent too, their lips sealed because they also didn’t know what to say either. It wasn’t just awkward— it was heavy, lingering like an invisible weight over all of them.
Tap. Tap. Tap.
Tap. Tap. Tap.
Their footsteps echoed through the empty corridor of the labyrinth. None of them dared to break the silence this time. So the group just continued marching forward with the awkward atmosphere surrounding them, each person trapped in their own thoughts as the seconds dragged out longer than they should have...
...
...
*****
Outside the [Labyrinth of the Nurturer].
In Hebriz City, where the Obadiah family is staying...
Alfred and Elaine are in their house, sitting inside the living room.
(They’re Raven’s Parents)
They’re facing each other with serious expressions on their faces and not saying anything... The soft tick of the clock on the wall was the only sound in the room. Neither wanted to speak first, as if waiting for the other to confirm what they were both already thinking.
Then after a while...
"Do you think it’s true?"
Alfred spoke, finally breaking the silence with a question directed at Elaine. His voice was steady, but there was a hint of uncertainty buried within it.
"Probably... Nisha got the information from Raven’s friends after all."
Elaine responded calmly, though her eyes flickered slightly as if she still couldn’t fully believe it.
(Nisha is Raven’s cute lil sis!)
Then after that...
"..."
"..."
The both of them got silent again, seemingly thinking about something. The weight of the topic hung between them like a thick curtain.
...
"I... Can’t believe it."
Elaine then mumbled in disbelief, her voice trembling slightly as she finally spoke again, shortly breaking the silence engulfing the couple.
"Me too..."
And Alfred spoke in the same manner, shaking his head in slow disbelief.
"..."
Not being able to suppress it anymore...
Hup-
Elaine suddenly stood up, the chair scraping faintly against the floor.
"That stupid son of ours!"
Then she exclaimed, sounding slightly annoyed! Her lips pressed tight, her hands clenched at her sides.
"Honey?!"
Alfred exclaimed in surprise, his eyes widening at Elaine’s sudden outburst.
But that didn’t end there...
Bam!
Elaine slammed her hands on the table between her and Alfred, the sound echoing sharply through the living room!
Then while still wearing an annoyed expression on her face—
"Our Raven has two girlfriends and we haven’t met either of them yet..!"
Elaine exclaimed, her cheeks puffed slightly with irritation.
"Shhh... Nisha is sleeping upstairs..."
Alfred softly said, glancing toward the ceiling with a worried look.
"Maybe he just forgot or they’re busy."
He then added quickly, trying to calm Elaine down.
"Busy? We wouldn’t even know if Nisha didn’t tell us!"
But it wasn’t very effective... Elaine only grew more frustrated, pacing slightly as if trying to burn off her irritation.
"Elaine..."
This time, Alfred called out Elaine’s name softly.
Which made Elaine stop and look at him...
"Raven wouldn’t forget to tell us something important like that... Maybe he’s just preparing or there’s a situation that’s stopping him from telling us immediately."
Alfred then calmly said, his eyes locking onto hers.
(Raven actually just forgot...)
"... You’re right."
And Elaine finally calmed down a little. Her shoulders slumped as she let out a deep breath.
After thinking about it again, Elaine realized that Raven isn’t someone who would hide things from them.
Considering that Raven even told them about him regaining his past life memories, which was a hard decision for him because they could’ve reacted in a bad way.
"I just got worked up after knowing that Raven has girlfriends for quite a while now and he didn’t even mention it to us."
Elaine mumbled, rubbing her temple.
"I was too... But let’s just wait until Raven tells us about it himself."
"Yeah, let’s do that..."
And with that, the couple’s conversation about that topic ended... The tension slowly eased, replaced with quiet understanding.
"Anyway... I’ve finished dealing with those shits."
Alfred then started a new topic, his tone colder this time.
"Oh, you mean about Jericho, Jayson, and Prem?"
Elaine asked as she leaned back slightly, her eyes narrowing.
(They were the ones who bullied Raven when he was still unawakened, they appeared in Chapters 40-42.)
"Yeah, I made sure they wouldn’t be able to go near Raven again."
Alfred said firmly.
"I let them go in the past because they were children, and Raven looked so determined to deal with them himself at that time..."
"But now is different... I don’t want any of those vermins near my family."
"Even their parents are trash for not correcting their sons...! Instead, they’re even condoning them to destroy Raven!"
Alfred then exclaimed, his hands clenching into fists as anger flickered across his face.
(Jericho, Jayson, and Prem are only children in their families, and they’re spoiled as fuck.)
"So... What did you do again?"
Elaine calmly asked Alfred, her tone curious but steady. She understood his anger but wanted the details.
Anyway... Hearing Elaine’s question made Alfred look at her.
And with a sly smile—
"I planted an unsigned Demon Contract in each of their houses, then I sent an anonymous report to the Heroes Federation..."
"... ’There are 3 families planning to make a contract with the Demons’..."
Alfred told Elaine what he did, his eyes glinting.
"And guess what, almost all of them were really planning to sign a contract with the Demons... Idiots."
"Anyway... News about that incident is already spreading in the Human Domain, now they wouldn’t be able to go back into society even if they miraculously avoid life imprisonment."
"I’m so glad I held myself back from killing them, now they will suffer from tortures or something even worse that they wish they were dead instead in the hands of those federation bastards."
Alfred continued like he was just telling a normal daily story— something one would casually bring up during family dinner!
"I watched them get taken by the authorities yesterday, their faces are funny..."
And he added with a satisfied smile on his face!
Alfred’s face just then would’ve sent even Raven the creeps if he saw it.
(Remember guys... Alfred has a trait called Merciless Enemy)
"Oh, I wanna see it, their faces at that time..."
Elaine then mumbled, seemingly disappointed that she missed it.
"Don’t worry, I recorded it."
But when Alfred said that.
"Oh, thank you honey!!"
Elaine immediately got her energy back!
"By the way..."
But then... Alfred spoke again in a serious tone.
Elaine looked at him and waited for him to talk.
And without further ado—
"Your shitty half-sister will be coming soon to visit us."
Alfred told Elaine the news, his tone careful, as he had been hesitant to say it since earlier.
"Oh..."
Elaine’s mood then became unreadable when she heard it.
"Are you okay now to face her without feeling guilty?"
Alfred asked carefully.
Elaine nodded her head... slowly but firmly.
She then looked at Alfred seriously.
"I think... It’s time for us to come out in the world."
Then she declared that!
"!"
Alfred widened his eyes in surprise, but he immediately calmed down, studying her expression carefully.
"Are you sure? I thought you don’t want to attract the Demons’ attention to keep Raven and Nisha safe?"
He asked cautiously.
"I can feel it... We wouldn’t be able to hide ourselves for long, so I think we should get ready."
And Elaine responded with resolve.
"My father left us a lot of things to use too before he disappeared, he said it’ll greatly help us in case we decided to stop hiding..."
She added, her voice steady.
Alfred silently looked at Elaine for a while...
Then he smiled, with the warmest smile he could muster...
"Okay, I’ll support you in your decisions... I’ll always be there for you, no matter the case... And I’ll make sure everything’s gonna be alright."
Alfred reassured Elaine.
"Thank you honey..."
Elaine mumbled with a sweet smile and she hugged Alfred.
"Now... Let’s organize everything, so we could finish before Raven comes out of the dungeon."
"I want to surprise him."
Alfred suggested.
"Oh, that’s a good idea!"
And Elaine happily agreed to him!
