CHAPTER 49: 49 - GOING BACK [3]

(Raven’s POV)

It’s now 7:30 PM.

I just met with Tyrone and gave him the [Phantom Meteor].

I asked him how long he thinks it will take to make a katana, and he said that he’ll do his very best and focus on my weapons to finish it within this month.

Normally, I’d decline and tell him to just take it easy, but I’ll need them for the assessment test, so I just thanked him. I also left him 5 million zeals; 3 million for the budget to upgrade and create my weapons, and 2 million for the commission.

Tyrone said I didn’t have to pay him, but I don’t want to do that... I already got a lot from him.

And also, someone who’s being paid does his job best. In that way, I’ll put pressure on Tyrone so he’ll take forging and upgrading my weapons more seriously without me saying anything.

Anyway... I’m now standing in front of the Lunar Academy.

And after entering the gate—a scene I haven’t seen for a while entered my sight.

Tall buildings and structures with at least 30–80 floors lined up, their designs so modern it’s like I’m in the future—if I may say—compared to when I was still back on the old Earth.

There are also small trains traveling all around the academy for transportation.

All in all, now that I take a good look at the it, I’ve finally realized that I’m on a different Earth, and I’m in a sci-fi fantasy world.

"It’s good to be back."

I mumbled as I walked through the academy and continued to admire the scenery.

Even with the modern-designed structures, there are still nature-themed landmarks in here like a small forest or lake.

Man, I’m really glad to be back in this peaceful place.

-Is this where you study?

It was then that Levina appeared.

"Hide yourself. Spirits are rare here, so you might cause some commotion. Also, I think I’m the first human to ever form a contract with a spirit."

’In fact, I’m the very first creature to be a spirit’s master. Spirits are a high-class race—even the elves who made contracts with them are just servants of the spirit.’

I like the idea of being the first person, but when this becomes known to the public, it’s gonna be hell for me.

Anyway, following my words, Levina hid herself in the chest pocket of my uniform.

-Why do you want to hide me? Isn’t it better if I’m revealed as your partner?

Levina grumbled.

Well, it’s true. Hiding her will be bothersome since this academy has a lot of strong heroes that may detect her.

Also, being known as the first human to ever form a contract with a spirit—and the master above all—sounds good.

I can already imagine my trait’s effect, I Like the Spotlight, being boosted, resulting in me growing stronger faster.

But...

"Not yet. Until I build up my strength—at least until then—be hidden."

Everything has its right timing, and now isn’t the right time to reveal Levina.

-Hmph, fine.

She started pouting. Though, I just ignore her.

I said that I’ll keep her hidden, but I’ll reveal her to certain individuals like Keara and Ruby.

They have my trust, to begin with.

*****

Standing in front of my dorm, I took out my Lunar ID and scanned it on the scanner locking my door.

Click—

With a subtle sound, the door became unlocked.

I then reached out to the handle and opened the door.

Swoosh—

Looking inside my dorm—more specifically, my bed.

I saw Keara peacefully sleeping while holding her phone.

Her phone was open. It looked like she was reading one of my novels and fell asleep in the middle of doing so.

’I almost forgot that she’s a fan of my novels.’

That’s how I met Keara, because of my works. A smile emerged on my face.

-Is this woman one of the people you told me about?

Levina asked.

"Yeah."

I already told her some names of people I’m planning to reveal her existence to.

And Keara is one of them.

-She has the blood of an elf.

Levina mumbled, looking at Keara curiously.

Guess she can feel that Keara has elven blood, as spirits and elves are both close to nature, thus their races are compatible with each other.

"Yeah, she’s a half-elf. Now don’t wake her up, I’m going to cook."

I’m pretty hungry.

"Oh, but I should take a bath first."

It’s been a long time since I had a proper bath.

I’m clean since I used cleansing magic on myself, but I still feel uncomfortable not taking a proper bath.

-Okay, don’t worry, I’ll protect this room.

Levina proudly declared.

"Thanks."

And with that, I entered the bathroom.

...

...

*****

"Hm?"

Keara slowly opened her eyes as she smelled something delicious.

"Ah."

Then she realized she’d been sleeping on Raven’s bed.

’How long did I sleep?’

Keara, in fact, visits and sleeps in Raven’s dorm from time to time as she feels lonely when he’s gone.

’I haven’t heard from him these past days... is he okay?’

Her face unconsciously turned gloomy as such thoughts entered her mind.

But it was then—

"Oh, you’re up."

She heard a familiar voice she hadn’t heard in a while.

Keara’s head quickly turned to the source of it, and there... She saw Raven cooking.

"I didn’t wake you up because you looked tired. Anyway, I’m almost done here, so let’s eat afterward."

He said with a smile.

"..."

Keara just stared at Raven for a while, dumbfounded and still wondering if what she was seeing was real.

"Oh, and I’m back."

Raven then said awkwardly.

A bright smile emerged on Keara’s face, and her gloomy mood quickly changed to a happy one.

"Welcome back!"

She happily exclaimed and got out of bed.

"Hehehe..."

She was giggling like crazy.

*****

(Raven’s POV)

Before Keara and I could eat, someone arrived.

It was Ruby. She said she heard I was back from Keara, so she immediately came to visit.

Keara said Ruby deserved to know I was back, so she told her.

Though conflicted, I didn’t mind too much, and so the three of us ate together.

"I haven’t had your cooking in a while. Now I’m reminded how good you are."

"You are really the best!"

Ruby and Keara complimented me after eating.

I smiled at their comments about my cooking, but soon I got serious.

And looking at the two...

"I have someone I want you guys to meet."

I muttered that. Keara’s and Ruby’s attention shifted to me.

And not waiting for them to reply—

Fwoosh~

Levina casually came out from my chest pocket.

"Huh?!"

"...!!"

Of course, Ruby and Keara were startled by her.

But not caring about that, Levina just transformed into her human-like appearance!

SWOOSH—

"My name is Levina, an electric spirit. And Raven is my master."

Levina then proudly announced that she’s my servant.

Ruby has high influence and good information sources, so she immediately knew that Levina was a real spirit based on the information she have about them.

While Keara, having the blood of an elf, could feel that Levina is a member of a high race.

"..."

"..."

They were both shocked, not saying anything.

But just as the awkward silence engulfed the room—

"Oh... and I’m also Raven’s partner, like you guys!"

Levina announced that.

"What?"

"Huh?"

Ruby’s and Keara’s eyes turned to me.

They had these piercing, questioning gazes. I don’t really care, but it still kinda affects me, so I opened my mouth.

"She’s talking bullshit."

I said with a frown, then I started explaining things to them.

...

...

...

Though Ruby and Keara were surprised by Levina’s existence, after explaining some things to them, they understood to some extent what happened.

I didn’t tell them I entered a portal-type dungeon that is [A+] rank. I don’t have a reason to anyway. And I feel like I’ll be in some kind of trouble if the two of them find that out.

What’s the weirdest thing is that after all the explaining and stuff... Levina, Ruby, and Keara got along with each other pretty fast.

I was surprised.

They all have different personalities, so it’s hard to believe.

’Maybe they all have something in common.’

I thought but couldn’t really figure out what it is.

Anyway, it’s a good thing they all get along, so I didn’t bother about it and just moved on.

I’m also tired as hell right now.

The exhaustion caught up to me after finally relaxing.

I’ll just sleep early later, because right now... I’m currently cooking again. The two still want more after we finished our food and it’s not like it’ll kill me to make them something.

Moving on, I finished cooking not long and prepared them on the table.

And with that—we started eating again.

Now, Levina is joining us.

"Yum! This is good!"

She exclaimed as she took her first bite.

"True!"

"Hmm~, really good."

Keara and Ruby followed.

I just smiled unconsciously from all the praising.
