CHAPTER 66: 66 - HOMES! [2]

"Oh! Raven! You’re finally here."

Oscar exclaimed with a warm smile after seeing Raven.

Then after that, he turned to Elaine and Alfred.

"Oh, you guys must be Raven’s wonderful parents... and you must be his cute little sister."

He greeted them. Elaine was carrying Nisha.

Oscar then extended his hand out toward them with a smile.

"I’m Oscar Wilfred, nice to meet you."

He introduced himself, his behavior and tone were polite.

Alfred, Raven’s dad, shook hands with him.

"I’m Raven’s father, Alfred Obadiah. It’s an honour meeting someone incredible."

Alfred introduced himself with a smile. Because [Coldvale] is the human’s number one guild and Oscar is the vice head of it, Oscar is pretty well known.

Anyway, Alfred turned to Elaine and Nisha—

"These are my wife and daughter."

"I am Elaine Obadiah, nice to meet you, Sir Oscar."

"I’m Nisha! I’m four, nice to meet you!"

Elaine and Nisha introduced themselves respectively.

"What a lovely family."

Oscar said, lightly bowing his head as a sign of respect.

Then at that moment—

Fwip-

Raven grabbed his arm.

"I’m gonna talk with my friend for a bit. Go look around for a bit!"

Raven said to his family, and not waiting for their responses— he walked away and took Oscar with him.

Oscar just smiled and let himself be dragged.

...

...

*****

"You calling me a friend makes me happy."

Oscar stated with a smirk on his face as soon as Raven stopped and let go of his arm.

"Why are you here?"

But Raven just ignored his words. Instead, he asked him a question.

"I’m here to give you guys a tour of your new house."

Oscar replied with a casual shrug.

"Huh? Why you of all people? It’s not like I don’t like seeing you but... Aren’t you busy with guild work?"

Raven followed with a question again, looking at Oscar weirdly.

Oscar patted his shoulders, then after that— he opened his mouth.

"My parents live here."

Oscar declared as he pointed at the nearest house from the Obadiah’s new house, on the right side.

The house he pointed at was rather simple, almost the same as the Obadiahs’ new home.

"Is it okay for them to just live here openly?"

Raven asked, looking at what Oscar was pointing at with a frown.

Oscar smirked at his question, then he answered—

"It may look like a normal house at first, but did you forget that I’m a mage?"

He proudly declared.

"I had the whole house covered with countless defensive magics. Also, my parents are being guarded all of the time by at least five [A-] rank heroes from our guild."

Oscar explained while pointing at a nearby tree. Raven shifted his eyes to that tree—though he couldn’t see anyone, he can sense that someone is there.

’They’re intentionally letting me know they are there... Are they listening to our conversation since the beginning?’

Raven thought as he inwardly frowned.

’If they were enemies and I was alone, I would have been dead already... I need to get stronger.’

He added before looking back at Oscar.

"Then, are you always around this place?"

Raven asked.

In which... Oscar shook his head.

"Just every now and then on weekends. Anyway, let me show you your new house now."

He said, also shifting the topic back to the new house.

So with that—

"Okay."

Raven and Oscar joined the Obadiah family again and they all finally entered the house.

...

...

...

Oscar gave Raven and his family a short tour inside the house.

And like on the outside... The inside of the house was also designed in a simple manner.

There’s a living room and a kitchen on the first floor, then on the second floor there are four bedrooms.

Though simple, the house is comfortable, and it’s also fully furnished with expensive items.

There’s also a balcony on both the floors facing the backyard of the house.

The floor is all white tiles while the wall is painted gray, which is to everyone’s liking.

After the tour... The Obadiah Family liked the house even more!

*****

"I’m gonna go now, as just like you said earlier, I’m busy with guild work."

Oscar said to Raven after giving them a quick house tour. The two of them are alone.

Nisha, Elaine, and Alfred are upstairs while the two of them are in the living room.

"Take care... Also, send my thanks to Clifford for me."

"Sure."

Raven said, and Oscar immediately replied.

Then he accompanied Oscar out of the house.

"See you next time!"

As soon as he got out, Oscar yelled that as he waved goodbye.

And just like that—

FWISH-

He disappeared even before Raven could respond to him.

"..."

Raven silently stared at where Oscar had disappeared with a smile.

"Brother..."

Then he suddenly felt a tug on his pants. Looking beside him, Raven saw Nisha holding the side of his pants—she was pouting.

’What a cute kid...’

Raven thought as he patted her head.

"Where’s Mom and Dad?"

He asked Nisha.

"They’re upstairs fixing and unloading all the things we brought..."

She answered while still pouting.

"Hmm...?"

Raven looked at her, squinting his eyes as if trying to remember something.

And seeing that... Nisha looked at Raven with anticipation!

Then, Raven let out a small chuckle as he crouched down and faced her.

"Let’s play. I promised you, didn’t I? Did you think I would forget?"

He asked teasingly.

And hearing his words—

Nisha’s pout disappeared immediately and was replaced by a bright smile!

"I knew you wouldn’t lie to me!"

She happily exclaimed as she dragged Raven inside.

"Let’s go play!"

Nisha was very excited to play with her brother again after a long time.

And knowing that—

"Okay, let’s play until you fall asleep!"

Raven replied, matching her enthusiasm and energy!

It was his first time seeing his little sister and his parents. He hadn’t even recovered all of his memories about them.

But for some reason... Raven feels at ease being with them.

"This is nice."

He muttered with a smile.

Then, without further ado—he started playing with Nisha.

...

...

...

Raven did play with Nisha until she was exhausted—and she fell asleep.
