CHAPTER 39: SWORD OF DOOM

Noah had given each team a calling skill. The leader of each team could use this skill to call him from anywhere.

He gave them that skill because if they found a tribe far away from the empire, it would be impossible for them to return in time. So they could call him instead.

He would then create a portal for them.

Now he was standing in front of the forest and hadn’t entered it yet.

He was going for a long hunt, at least 10 days.

Noah was going to use his flying knives on less powerful creatures and his daggers to kill the more powerful ones.

"Let’s begin."

He started flying at a low altitude. The forest was not the one he had been to before. It was a new forest he discovered the last time he came out to complete a quest.

And this one was huge. Even with his light-years of search range, he couldn’t cover the entire forest. But he found many powerful creatures at the Diamond level and even at the Legend level.

Noah’s target was those creatures. Hunting small ones wouldn’t give him much exp. And he would need more exp in the future as his subjects would keep increasing. The more people, the more exp, the more powerful he would become.

So he directly teleported into the region of the Diamond-grade monster — the Flame Bear.

This region had 76 bears, and each one of them was at the Diamond level. They were the rulers of this side of the forest. No other species of monster could face them.

Noah arrived in front of the strongest one in that region. He would fight it barehanded, and he sent his 500 flying knives to slice the remaining bears as well as the nearby monsters.

Noah punched at the bear. He was controlling his power to the level of the bear; otherwise, it would become meat paste instantly, which he didn’t want.

The bear roared in anger. It was frightened by the sudden appearance of the intruder.

It roared again to show its dominance. The flames around its body lit up with more intensity, and the heat started burning the air itself.

It then swung its claw at Noah.

Boom! His fist and its claw clashed together. They had equal power since Noah was suppressing his own strength.

Instantly, he blew the bear back. Noah was more nimble. Though he was using less power, his body could move faster than the bear.

After exchanging hundreds of blows with the bear, he finally decided that his warm-up period was over. He should finish the battle and enter the deeper region.

He suddenly jumped above the bear and punched its head.

The tremendous force instantly crushed its skull and brain, and blood splashed everywhere.

Meanwhile, his flying knives were also done with the others. He didn’t kill all the bears; he kept 2 males and 2 females alive and even healed them. He also gave them some medicine that would allow them to reproduce faster.

So among 76 Flame Bears, he killed 72.

Each Diamond-ranked bear gave him 50 million exp without his 100x amplification.

Along with that, he had killed some other monsters in the Platinum and Gold levels nearby too.

Overall, he got a huge harvest there.

[Ding! 400 billion exp is added to your panel.]

He heard the system notification and then sold their carcasses as well.

After that, he started going even deeper. He would keep killing until he faced an Epic-ranked beast since he was not strong enough to trade blows with them yet.

He then entered some other layers of Diamond-level monsters.

Among them were apes, the most ferocious Diamond beasts he had ever seen.

There were 300 apes living in that area, 212 of them at the Diamond level, and the rest were Platinum level — the childrens of the tribe.

As soon as he entered their area, all of them started slamming their chests and roared at him as he didn’t conceal his power. He was bery confident.

He was about to attack one of them, but a sharp pain suddenly struck his mind out of nowhere.

It felt like someone was trying to open his skull and pull out his brain.

"Ahhhh!" he roared in pain.

He didn’t know what it was.

"A mental attack? Damn it, why didn’t I think of this before? Of course, there would be monsters that have high spirit values like me and can attack accordingly. I should have created a mental defense as well as a mental attack."

But he couldn’t think much longer because more and more attacks were coming from every direction. Blood started gushing out from his nose, ears, eyes, and mouth.

"Not good."

He instantly teleported outside of the forest. His brain wasn’t functioning properly, so he arrived at the safe place he had used before.

Because there were no monsters there, his mind considered it safe instead of teleporting to his own palace. It had forgotten about that.

The moment he came out, he almost fell unconscious. But he bit his tongue to stay awake because, in 10 seconds, he would be as good as new.

The pain was immense. His brain had taken tremendous damage. Though it was a mental attack, it harmed him physically because his spirit value was even higher than those monsters.

So his mind was safe, but he didn’t have any defensive skill against mental attacks, and it penetrated his physical defense easily.

After 10 seconds, Noah finally stood up.

"What a vicious attack. I should thank them for giving me a new perspective on battle. I should develop a control skill, an attack skill based on my spirit power, and of course, a defensive skill too."

So he sat down there and started thinking of the skill.

First, the attack skill.

He wanted to kill others with this attack. So he thought of a skill where his spirit power would manifest as a sword and attack the soul of the enemy.

If the enemy’s spirit power was less than his, their soul would be instantly crushed. And even if they had higher spirit power, they would still take his full-force attack because the skill he wanted to create couldn’t be obstructed by any defensive skill.

[100000 decillion mana points needed. Confirm?]

What the fuck? What was this number? Where the fuck would he get that amount of mana points?

But then he remembered something. He didn’t set any upper limit for the enemy’s realm. That meant it didn’t matter which realm the enemy was in; they couldn’t obstruct his attack. Besides, he didn’t even set a limit on how many swords he could create at once.

"Sigh! I need to be more specific."

Then he envisioned the same skill, but this time, the upper limit of the enemy realm was the Mythical Realm, and at once, he could create 10 swords and would need to wait 10 seconds before creating another batch.

[10 quadrillion mana points needed. Confirm?]

A tremendous amount indeed, but it was acceptable because his skill would be a sure hit. No defensive skill could obstruct it. Not even a Mythical Realm creature could stop this attack.

"Confirm."

A skill core appeared in his hand.

A smile appeared on his face, and he learned the skill instantly.

[Sword of Doom]

This was the name of the skill he created.
