CHAPTER 48: TEMPLE HUNT.

The group didn’t set out deep into the forest, as Jayhan had requested of them.

Rather, using the minimal resources they had, they chose to camp in a small cave they found close to a river.

So far, they had not run into any other group, which was good on its own since Jayhan wasn’t ready for that either.

Leaving that aside, the girls decided to take their bath in the nearby river.

Jayhan and Adonis were the only two still waiting in the cave.

Of course, as expected, Adonis stood outside the cave, keeping watch and being on alert in case anything out of the ordinary were to occur.

Meanwhile, Jayhan was seated close to the fire, in his hand the once blank map that now had the location of the ruined land drawn on it.

’This place is far bigger than I thought.’

He stared at the map.

From what he could see, the intricate drawing indicated about five major locations that could prove beneficial.

One was an abandoned temple towards the west, a place where only icy storms exist, and a snow-like monster—Blizzard Island.

The second was an underground tunnel leading to an abandoned ruin, not too far from Blizzard Domain—the abandoned dungeons.

The third seemed to be a gateway leading to a secret place; there was little to no information about that place.

And lastly, there was the forest where he was currently in, having multiple spots that could trigger both a side quest and a hidden quest.

Jayhan gave a deep sigh.

"I can’t blindly roam around this place with the others without any plan up ahead."

He tucked his arms. "My best bet is to go alone, although I doubt if Kara would let me do that."

"She won’t."

A familiar voice echoed behind him.

Jayhan directly turned around to have a look, and that was when he saw Kara strolling into the cave in her white towel.

His face flushed for a second.

With water still dripping from her wet hair, she took one step at a time, her boobs bouncing with each movement.

And once she was near, she settled down, her cleavage now even more visible.

"So? Where did you say you were going?" she asked.

’Shoot, she overheard me.’

There was no use lying.

Since Kara had a support system directly linked to him, she would get notified.

Then again, the thought skimmed through his mind.

What was the support system truly meant for?

That thought faded as quickly as it came.

"I wanted to go scout the forest to see what we are dealing with."

Kara raised a brow.

"Shouldn’t we all do that together?"

Jayhan scratched his hair.

"On the off chance that we run into a dangerous group, I’d like to make sure they don’t have all of us cornered. Backups are essential in times like these."

"I see..."

Kara turned her gaze to the map.

[The character Kara wishes for you to praise her.]

’What?’

"Babe, what does that stand for?"

Kara was now pointing at a green point on the map.

Following her gaze, Jayhan also thought the same thing.

Red dots, purple dots, green dots, and blue dots were all scattered across various locations on the map.

He assumed they were just key locations, but Kara’s question was valid.

"Hold on..."

He closed his eyes.

He had a map of his own.

[The skill Radar has been activated.]

In his mind, the hologram formed.

He could see everything clearly, even his location.

But that wasn’t why he used the skill.

The last time he used Radar as a map, everything was tagged with words and descriptions.

Using the same now, there was a chance these unknown dots would hold the same thing.

And he was right.

Upon activating his skill, he realized what the dots represented.

Red dots were for ruins where it was probable to find a stone after defeating the boss holding it.

Green dots represented zones where you could update your stats and purchase items.

Blue dots were mini-towers for battling monsters and treasure hunts.

Purple dots were the kicker; these contained temples for gods, holding ancient relics and artifacts.

And there was one close by.

If anyone was smart enough to figure this out, that would be the first place they would go to, since only three existed throughout the whole map.

As he opened his eyes, the first thing he said was,

"We need to head to the temple, now."

Kara was taken aback by his sudden rise in motivation.

"Did you figure something out?"

She began to dress up.

Jayhan was already standing to his feet, the map rolled over to the side, as he began tapping the system notification to access his inventory.

"Yeah, there’s a temple nearby, not too far from here. We need to take the items there before any other group gets their hands on them."

"A temple in a forest? Isn’t that strange?"

Jayhan’s eyes narrowed.

’Yes, it is.’

He thought to himself,

’By now, that thing should have shown itself. Does the requirement vary for different worlds?’

Jayhan shook his head. There was no time to think about that.

From his inventory, he pulled out food, water, and other various items.

He wasn’t sure how long he would be gone, so it was good to leave something for Adonis, Seo, and Veronica.

Once that was settled, he looked to Kara.

"Are you ready?"

To his surprise, Kara was already fully dressed and holding her sword in her hand.

"Yes, sweetie," she replied excitedly.

Her reasons for being lively, Jayhan knew all too well.

"W-we are not going out there to do a killing spree, you do know that, right?"

Concern was etched on his face.

Kara pouted.

"I know that, sheesh."

And then walked toward the cave’s exit.

Jayhan couldn’t help but sigh.

’I doubt she understands.’

As he got to Adonis, he laid down a few rules and a plan he needed him to follow, just in case anything were to happen.
