CHAPTER 589: CHAPTER 506: INTERESTING PHOTOS
Bai Shasha didn’t think much of it. She clung to Li Si’s arm and acted coy: "How can that be? I was planning to set the wedding date, and whenever I went shopping, you’d have to come with me!"
"Li Si, you absolutely can’t do this! Even though you can’t be my bridesmaid, you’re the one who has to run around helping me!"
"You! You just bombard me with sweet talk! But, oh well, who told me I can’t resist you! Don’t worry, I’ll definitely help! I’ll be your advisor!"
Li Si patted her chest in assurance, making Bai Shasha delighted as they linked pinkies.
The two laughed and messed around for a while until the car arrived downstairs at Bai Shasha’s home.
"Oh! We’re at my place! Li Si, why not come up for a bit?" Bai Shasha invited eagerly.
Li Si glanced at her watch, "Not today! My absent-minded mother has been out for half the day, and if I get home late, your godson will be upset!"
Bai Shasha squinted and teased: "Seems like someone else might be impatient too! Hmph! But I’m magnanimous, so I won’t bicker with you today. Let’s settle for tomorrow to visit Meng Meng!"
"Alright! I’ll come over and pick you up then!"
Li Si waved her hand goodbye with a smile and drove off.
When Li Si arrived back at her villa, she got out of the car only to notice Bai Shasha’s camera lying on the footrest.
She picked it up casually, shaking her head with a chuckle—this Shasha, when will she ever stop being so absent-minded?
When she stepped into the hall, only Xiao Guai was on the sofa. Seeing Li Si, Xiao Guai leapt over as fast as it could. Li Si chuckled and patted its head: "Did you cause any trouble today?"
She couldn’t help but ask, since almost every time she saw it, it was causing mischief and was rarely this well-behaved.
Xiao Guai hung its head in a very human-like way—a clear giveaway that it had gotten into trouble.
"What happened exactly?"
Xiao Guai rubbed against her and headed upstairs, looking back to signal Li Si to follow. The moment Li Si joined, it bolted even faster.
When she saw the mess Xiao Guai had made in the walk-in closet, she nearly went berserk.
Clearly, this little rascal had tried to find clothes for itself but ended up tearing everything apart and throwing items all over.
Even worse, it had crumpled a few of Leng Mochen’s ties into wrinkles. Fiercely picking up a tie, Li Si demanded, "What were you doing with this?"
Xiao Guai timidly pressed itself against the shoe rack, gesturing at its own neck. This made Li Si burst into laughter and tears simultaneously.
She remembered seeing a TV show the day before where a monkey was wearing a dress shirt and tie—it seemed Xiao Guai wanted to mimic that look for itself.
After Li Si had someone tidy up the closet, she called Bai Shasha, "Did someone lose something?"
"I don’t think so?" came Bai Shasha’s reply, followed by rummaging sounds on her end. Li Si laughed, waiting on hers.
"Ah! Did I forget my camera? I was so engrossed chatting with you that I must’ve left it in the car!"
"If you want it back, you’ll have to treat me to a meal! Otherwise, good luck with your work!"
"Hah! That won’t work on me—it’s just my random camera for snapping interesting things here and there. Hehe! You’re lucky to see what’s inside!
Watch out not to get a sty in your eye!" Bai Shasha seemed to be having a great time laughing.
Li Si probed: "You didn’t secretly photograph people’s live drama, did you?"
Figures Bai Shasha and Xu Er are two peas in a pod. Li Si had no words.
"Hmph! A voyeur? Is that something I’d do? Nope, just messing with you. It’s just amusing stuff I grabbed randomly. We’re going to see Meng Meng tomorrow, right? When you come pick me up, bring it along!
Oh! Gotta go, my mom’s calling now!"
Li Si stared at the phone, now disconnected, chuckling twice—no need to guess, Mrs. Bai was surely pressing hard to set the wedding date if Shasha didn’t move quickly.
Student Bai Shasha had better brace herself!
Looking over at Xiao Guai, still pretending to reflect, "Keep facing the wall. You’ve still got half an hour left!"
Xiao Guai resignedly remained in its spot, obediently facing the wall. It truly had played too hard, trying to dress up, only to end up like this!
When Leng Mochen returned, the house was already tidied. He kissed Li Si straight away before heading toward the study.
Li Si was fiddling with Bai Shasha’s camera, laughing loudly. Bai Shasha truly dared to take shots—people fighting, embarrassing moments, all captured by her.
Leng Mochen curiously glanced over, "What’s so funny?"
"Shasha really goes all in with her photography! Look at this..."
Li Si pointed at photo after photo, laughing as she shared.
Suddenly, Leng Mochen’s gaze froze.
"Flip back!"
Li Si realized what he had seen—Zeng Qiuping—and softly explained: "I ran into her while eating with Shasha. She was loudly scolding someone."
Seeing him reach for the camera, Li Si handed it over, though she felt his previously relaxed vibe tighten with tension.
Leng Mochen took the camera and frowned slightly, enlarging the clear photo for closer inspection.
The shot depicted Zeng Qiuping berating a young man, her expression very animated.
What unsettled him most was the man’s appearance.
His features bore a startling resemblance to someone he had in mind.
This was getting interesting now.
Coldly calculated inside, he maintained composure outwardly.
"Oh? Interesting! Where’s this?" Leng Mochen pointed at the photo and asked.
Li Si peered at the screen, "Isn’t this inside Yin Xian’s shopping mall?"
When had Bai Shasha taken this? Li Si hadn’t noticed.
"Ah! It’s from when we went to the mall together. She snapped it randomly!"
As for Yin Xian, Li Si refrained from mentioning him to avoid upsetting Leng Mochen.
Leng Mochen nodded, "Alright, be honest. Who did you run into today?"
He knew her too well—whenever Li Si avoided eye contact and glanced away, she wasn’t being entirely truthful.
Li Si lifted her head and laughed, helplessly: "Guess I can’t hide anything from you. We ran into Yin Xian, Yin Qi, and Beibei—the little boy who went missing!"
These were all people Leng Mochen was familiar with. He rubbed the top of her head, "So what if you ran into them? Why not tell me?"
Li Si pouted, "I was just worried you’d overthink—who’s the jealous one here?"
There was one time he’d insisted she lay all her cards out yet still hadn’t let it go.
Leng Mochen smirked, "You’re my wife now, my child’s mother—overthink what?"
Back then, he was indeed prone to jealousy—she hadn’t been his officially, and his unease stemmed from fearing competition.
"Did seeing that child affect your mood a bit?"
Li Si nodded honestly: "It did, a little. But later, I thought about it—there are things bound to happen, and they’re beyond my control.
Back then, his father’s actions implicated Su Meng and Qian Rouxuan.
Not just us—even Long Wu wouldn’t let him off."
But later, he did get clever, evading everyone repeatedly.
Leng Mochen wrapped an arm around her, "Don’t dwell on it. I’m here for everything."
Li Si returned his embrace, "I know!"
The two quietly leaned against each other for a while. Knowing Leng Mochen had work to do, Li Si headed downstairs to check on Buding.
While her attention was elsewhere, Leng Mochen stealthily pocketed the camera.
Once he was inside the study, his expression turned serious.
It seemed things might not have been what he thought.
He copied the photo onto his computer, magnifying it countless times for close inspection.
The more he studied it, the more convinced he became—this person bore a striking resemblance to the security guard who had appeared in the surveillance footage years ago.
Though there had been disguises back then, certain details weren’t missed by his sharp eye.
Still, why would this man be entangled with Zeng Qiuping?
