Rebirth: Clinging to My Possessive Magnate
Chapter 384: Why should he know?
CHAPTER 384: CHAPTER 384: WHY SHOULD HE KNOW?
Ophelia Wilson almost spat out a mouthful of blood. She, jealous of Sophie Wilson?
Alright, she indeed was a bit jealous of Sophie Wilson.
All the assets were transferred to Sophie Wilson’s name. Charles Seymour was being too generous, wasn’t he?
Has he gone mad?
While Ophelia found it unbelievable, a feeling called jealousy gnawed at her heart like tiny bugs.
Why could Charles Seymour go to such lengths, and James Reed couldn’t?
James Reed struggled to pull the corners of his lips into a smile and asked somewhat worriedly, "Big brother, did Dad know you did this?"
Charles Seymour looked at James Reed, quite puzzled, as if looking at an idiot: "He cut ties with me, why should he know what I do?"
That one sentence almost left James Reed gasping for breath.
"Let’s go." Charles Seymour took Sophie’s hand. "Don’t waste time on trash."
Ophelia’s eyes suddenly widened. Charles actually called her trash?
"Big brother, you... sigh..." James Reed sighed heavily and apologized to Ophelia, "Ophelia, I’m sorry, my brother has some misunderstanding with me, and you got caught in it."
"It’s okay." Ophelia, after all, deeply loved James Reed, and naturally wouldn’t take it to heart.
"President Perry, sorry for letting you witness this." James Reed turned and said apologetically to Jim Perry.
"No worries." Jim Perry smiled.
Seeing that Jim Perry really didn’t mind, James Reed felt relieved to see him off, watching his car leave before turning to Ophelia and saying, "Let me take you home."
"Okay." Ophelia nodded.
On the way, James Reed asked, "Ophelia, are you very disappointed in me? For not transferring all my assets to you like Charles Seymour did."
"No." Ophelia smiled and shook her head.
"Really?" James Reed asked with amusement.
Ophelia tugged her fingers, embarrassed, and said, "Actually, at first, I was a little jealous of Sophie. Which woman wouldn’t want her man to give everything to her wholeheartedly without reservation?"
"But, you’re different from Charles Seymour. You have to manage the Seymour Corporation and take care of so many people there. How could you possibly transfer all your assets to me?" Ophelia said sensibly and considerately, "You’re different from Charles. He doesn’t have real power, just some dividends, houses, and cars under his name."
"Even if he transfers it out, there’s no problem, it wouldn’t affect anyone’s livelihood or cause any economic disruptions. But your assets are different."
Ophelia’s words made James Reed laugh. He reached out and held her hand: "Ophelia, how lucky I am to have met someone as understanding as you."
"I must have saved the planet in my past life to meet you."
James Reed’s sweet words made Ophelia smile with her lips pursed, and then she heard him continue, "Dad will be talking to Grandpa about our engagement in a few days. We should pick a good day to get engaged."
"Really?" Ophelia asked in surprise.
"Of course it’s true, how could I lie to you about this?" James Reed said with a doting smile, "If I don’t settle you down soon, I’d worry that someone else would take such a wonderful girl away."
Ophelia bit her lip and secretly smiled, "I won’t go with anyone else."
Saying this, she drew closer to James Reed’s embrace, her heart full of sweetness.
