Rebirth: Clinging to My Possessive Magnate
Chapter 43 - 043: Good Sister
CHAPTER 43: CHAPTER 043: GOOD SISTER
Sitting in the car, Sophie Wilson turned to Charles Seymour and said, "I’m going back to the Wilson Clan."
Charles Seymour didn’t ask any questions, just instructed the driver to change the route.
"What are you going back for?" Charles Seymour finally asked casually.
"My mom asked me to go back, probably something’s up," Sophie Wilson said with a smile.
Charles Seymour’s eyes flickered, seeing a bit of bitterness in her smile that even she hadn’t realized, and his brows furrowed slightly.
After these two sentences, the car fell into silence.
When they were almost at the Wilson Clan’s home, Sophie Wilson got out of the car early, "I’ll go first, you head back, drive safely."
Sophie Wilson said, closed the car door, and walked towards the Wilson Clan’s home.
She remembered that when she was young, the family’s conditions were not very good. Later, as her father’s business grew, they moved from a single-story house to an apartment, and from an apartment to the current villa.
However, no matter how they moved houses, she never felt her mom’s warmth. Only when her dad was home would her mom lavish her with some rare care.
Opening the front door, the glaring lights inside made Sophie Wilson close her eyes uncomfortably.
"Annie, you’re back?" Hearing Grace Wilson’s phony greeting with closed eyes, Sophie Wilson felt nauseated.
Grace Wilson could pretend, but couldn’t she, having lived two lifetimes?
Sophie Wilson put on a smile and nodded, "Yes, sister."
"You still have the nerve to come back!" Lily Warren jumped up from the sofa and yelled as soon as she saw Sophie Wilson.
"What are you doing? The child just got back!" Stephen Wilson scolded displeased.
"Stephen, you don’t know what she’s done!" Lily Warren hurriedly explained upon hearing Stephen speak up, "She bullied others at the branch office and drove out a perfectly nice young girl."
"What do you have to say for yourself, doing such things?" Lily Warren turned around and started lecturing Sophie Wilson, "You wanted to go to the branch initially, and now you’re the one causing trouble. What exactly do you want to do?"
"Fine, you can’t do anything, just come back home and let us support you as a spoiled rich girl!"
Lily Warren’s words only made Sophie Wilson sneer coldly in her heart.
In the end, they just wanted her to leave the company, so that all the family’s enterprises could be justifiably handed over to the capable Grace Wilson, right?
"Mom, why do you insist on having me come back home and not work? Do you want to ruin me?" Sophie Wilson directly tore off that thin veneer, determined to get to the bottom of it. Two lifetimes’ worth of doubts, she didn’t want to keep them bottled up inside anymore.
"Who’s trying to ruin you?" Lily Warren screamed like someone had hit a nerve, "I’m just worried about your health, wanting you to rest more, worry less!"
"Besides, when you went to work, what did you do? You fired someone for no reason! What do you think the company is? If you can’t handle it, just come home early and stop embarrassing your dad!"
"Mom, Annie definitely didn’t do it on purpose." Grace Wilson finished talking to Lily Warren and then turned to kindly persuade Sophie Wilson, "Annie, don’t rush. You’ve just started working, and have little experience. It will get better gradually."
What a considerate and gentle good sister, so hypocritical it made her sick!
"Mom, do you even know the details? And yet you call me incompetent." Too many times of disappointment and heartbreak, Sophie Wilson now only felt anger from the pain.
