Rebirth: Clinging to My Possessive Magnate
Chapter 46: Please Keep Working Hard
CHAPTER 46: CHAPTER 46: PLEASE KEEP WORKING HARD
Sophie Wilson couldn’t even remember how she fell asleep in a daze. By the time she opened her eyes, it was already half-past eight.
Luckily, it’s the weekend, so there’s no need to go to work. Otherwise, she’d really go crazy.
She rolled over, hugged the quilt, and snuggled lazily, not wanting to get up.
When Charles Seymour came in through the door, this was what he saw: her pajamas had ridden up, revealing a sliver of white, supple waist, her straight calves were tangled in the quilt, and her rosy toes were spread out lazily like a kitty’s paws...
Charles’s eyes darkened, his grip on the doorknob tightened slightly, his knuckles showing a faint whiteness.
"Hmm? Why are you here?" Sophie asked as she noticed the door opening through the corner of her eye. She yawned while hugging the quilt, lazily resembling a just-awoken Persian cat, especially with that strand of hair sticking up on her head, making Charles’s palms itch with the urge to give it a rub.
"What time is it? Aren’t you coming down for breakfast yet?"
Upon hearing this, Sophie nodded repeatedly and sat up. She was worried that Charles would start with his usual cool-on-the-outside, warm-on-the-inside antics.
Even in the summer, being constantly chilled by him was uncomfortable.
"Be good, come down for breakfast," Charles said, brushing his lips against Sophie’s briefly. "As expected, you’re naughty and need a morning kiss to get up."
The warm touch startled Sophie enough that the last remnants of sleepiness vanished, leaving her wide awake: "You, you, you... I, I, I..."
"What?" Charles looked at Sophie with feigned innocence, as if not understanding why she was so agitated.
"Why did you kiss me?" Sophie took a deep breath, finally managing to voice that question completely.
"Is there a problem with kissing my own girlfriend?" Charles’s question almost choked Sophie.
Big problem, okay?
Isn’t he the type who finds it hard to express his love?
Has something possessed this guy in front of her?
"Aren’t we dating? Did I do something wrong?"
Sophie gritted her teeth: "...Right!"
Why do I feel like punching him?
"Come down for breakfast," Charles said, turning to leave.
Sophie couldn’t tell if it was just her imagination, but it seemed like his footsteps were a bit more cheerful.
Shaking her head with a smile, Sophie held her forehead. She didn’t understand him in her past life, and in this life... it looks like she needs to start getting to know him all over again.
This guy is really...
Whether he’s humble or confident, as long as their relationship is boyfriend and girlfriend, it’s all good.
Sophie pouted her lips, smiling sweetly as she washed up and got ready to go downstairs for breakfast.
As expected, the breakfast on the dining table was just right.
"After breakfast, shall we go shopping and then watch a movie?" Charles’s words almost made Sophie spit out her milk.
"You like shopping?" Sophie stared at Charles incredulously.
"Don’t boyfriends all go shopping with their girlfriends?" Charles asked in confusion, starting to doubt if the dating advice he found online yesterday was wrong.
"Shopping isn’t necessary; let’s just go to the supermarket instead," Sophie said with a smiling face. She was quite pleased with how quickly someone was fitting into the role—she encouraged him, "please keep it up!"
She liked it!
"The supermarket? Hmm." Charles nodded, not quite understanding what was so great about supermarkets, though he didn’t really get what was so great about shopping either.
Anyway, as long as he’s with her, it doesn’t matter where they go.
