Rebirth: Clinging to My Possessive Magnate
Chapter 461: This Reason...
CHAPTER 461: CHAPTER 461: THIS REASON...
Mason Wilson: "..."
"I’m heading back first." Mason Wilson decided to retreat, staying here any longer would blind him.
This public display of affection was so dazzling; it was honestly the first time he’d ever seen something like this.
"Oh, goodbye, Dad..." After saying goodbye to Mason Wilson, Sophie Wilson turned to Charles Seymour and asked, puzzled, "Why do I feel like my dad... hmm, seems pretty down? Who upset him?"
Charles Seymour shook his head innocently; how would he know?
Mason Wilson wasn’t Sophie; he didn’t have time to guess Mason’s thoughts.
"Is the company stuff really tough?" Sophie thought for a while and could only come up with this possibility.
"No, uncle is doing a great job," Charles said, carrying Sophie indoors; why stay outside in the courtyard? It’s chilly.
"Then why is my dad feeling so low?" Sophie asked in confusion.
As the door closed, Charles Seymour’s faint voice could be heard: "Maybe it’s menopause."
Mason Wilson, leaning against the villa wall to calm his mood: "..."
To hell with menopause!
It’s Charles Seymour who’s in menopause!
Where did he even come up with that excuse, is Charles alright?
Mason Wilson dragged his exhausted body back home and collapsed onto the sofa as soon as he entered, not wanting to move an inch. This scared Clarissa Taylor: "What’s wrong? What happened to you?"
"Nothing, just a bit tired," Mason responded sullenly. He was emotionally and physically drained, all damaged, especially his mental state, which was most severely wounded.
"Busy at the company?" After asking, Clarissa sighed lightly, "Peace Group is indeed much larger than the Wilson Clan of before, so it’s normal to have a lot more to handle. But you’ve got to take care of yourself. If there’s anything you can’t manage, talk to Charles, don’t push yourself."
"Don’t end up overworking yourself and dragging Charles’ company down as well."
At first, Mason found Clarissa’s words comforting, but the more she talked, the more off it seemed to him.
"Wife, are you more concerned about my health or Charles’ company?" Mason asked, feeling a bit jealous.
This was his wife!
Why wasn’t she siding with him?
Especially after being smothered by Charles’ public display of affection, he felt a bit sorry for himself.
"Of course I care about both. You’re my husband, and Charles is my son-in-law," Clarissa puzzledly slapped Mason on the back, "What’s up with you today? You’re acting so weird."
"It’s nothing..." Mason originally didn’t intend to say much more, but he just couldn’t stomach it himself, so he discussed what had happened, "The key is, you didn’t see the nonchalant, justified attitude of Sophie and Charles, as if what Charles did was no big deal at all."
"Sophie not caring is one thing, but Charles didn’t seem to think it was a big deal either; he didn’t even feel Sophie’s reaction was off." Recalling the situation, Mason still didn’t feel good about it.
Unlike Mason, Clarissa was quite pleased: "That’s a good thing."
"That shows Sophie and Charles are usually like this together. No matter what Charles does, Sophie completely trusts him because he never lets her down. The two of them trust each other like this, they’re so in tune; it’s a great thing."
"You wouldn’t want them to awkwardly thank each other all the time, would you? That would actually worry me."
