CHAPTER 465: CHAPTER 465: THERE’S CHARLES!

"I know that!" Old Mrs. Wilson impatiently threw out a sentence and then strode away.

How could Chaya get on her nerves, and she couldn’t even show it? Is this still her house or not?

Really frustrating.

Old Mrs. Wilson returned to her room and sulked by herself.

Completely different from the Wilson Clan, was Sophie’s side.

"Sophie, don’t you need to be busy with the engagement preparations?" As the date approached, Clarissa noticed that Sophie didn’t seem busy at all, prompting her to ask.

"Busy with what?" Sophie asked in surprise. "Isn’t it good enough for me just to show up at the engagement itself?"

"Have you written the invitations?" Clarissa rolled her eyes at Sophie and asked.

"I gave the list to Charles. I guess he’s asked my dad for the complete list." Sophie replied.

"What about the venue decorations?" Clarissa inquired.

"Charles is preparing that." Sophie answered.

"The dress and jewelry?"

"Charles is taking care of that too." Sophie said.

"Beverages, menu, convoy?"

"Charles will have someone handle it." Sophie responded.

"The overall process..." Clarissa asked halfway, then answered herself, "Is Charles handling that too?"

"Yeah." Sophie blinked and nodded, saying it casually.

"You, indeed, are so carefree." Clarissa helplessly reached out to tap Sophie’s forehead, "You’re having Charles handle everything, what if he isn’t happy?"

"No way, he’s happy enough." Sophie wrinkled her nose, made a funny face, and said cheerfully, "Mom, you don’t have to worry. Charles’s work is exceptionally meticulous and there’s no room for errors."

"One day, Charles is going to spoil you rotten." Clarissa said sincerely, even as Sophie’s mom, she couldn’t manage to pamper her like Charles does.

"He’s eager to spoil me to the extent that I’d never want to leave him." Sophie giggled.

"You." Clarissa amusingly flicked Sophie’s forehead.

While others are busy with their engagement preparations, Sophie remains leisurely, as if it were any ordinary day.

And then, with nothing much to do, Sophie took Clarissa out for some shopping.

"Mom, how about this?" In the jewelry store, Sophie pointed at a necklace in the display case and asked Clarissa.

"It’s quite beautiful." Clarissa’s eyes lit up, nodding as she spoke.

Women, after all, love these shiny things. It’s an instinctive liking that is impossible to suppress.

Especially, the items inside are exceptionally stunning; every piece of jewelry at this store is one of a kind.

As for the price... Well, Sophie never considers the price when shopping, as there’s always money in her account.

Her Mr. Seymour would never let her run out of money.

"Wow, it’s really beautiful." Sophie said as Clarissa tried it on, her eyes lighting up, "Mom, you truly are a beauty."

"This child." Clarissa laughed and teased, "At my age, what’s all this talk of beauty?"

"Who cares how old you are, beautiful is still beautiful." Sophie laughed happily, then glanced at the earrings next to it.

Sophie tried on a set of ruby necklace and earrings. The rubies were incredibly pure in color, worn on her with no hint of flashiness, but instead highlighted her beauty all the more, like a peony in full bloom, noble and magnificent, surpassing all other flowers.
