Rebirth: Clinging to My Possessive Magnate
Chapter 478: No Time
CHAPTER 478: CHAPTER 478: NO TIME
The words that followed, Old Mr. Seymour hadn’t spoken yet, but Ethan Seymour had already reached the elevator and pressed the button, saying, "Dad, you and Mom wait there, I’ll take the elevator up now."
With that, he hung up the phone.
Old Mr. Seymour, already in front of the exclusive elevator, glanced at the hotel attendant inside and said with a smile, "We’ll just take the elevator next to this one."
The hotel attendant smiled and explained, "Sir, this elevator goes straight to the ninth floor. If you take the other elevator to the ninth floor, you’ll need to present the invitation."
"No worries, I have some business to take care of on the eighth floor." Old Mr. Seymour politely declined the attendant’s offer.
"Very well, please proceed." The hotel attendant, naturally, prioritized the guest’s preference.
The elevator Ethan Seymour was waiting for arrived. As the doors opened and he was about to step in, he immediately saw Old Mr. Seymour and Old Mrs. Seymour inside, and cheerfully said, "Mom, Dad, you’re here, come on... hey, hey..."
Worried the elevator doors might close, Ethan quickly pressed the door open button.
Seeing Old Mr. Seymour and Old Mrs. Seymour step out of the elevator, Ethan felt relieved.
It seemed the two elders had no intention of going over to that bastard.
He thought to himself, after all, personally, he and James were the son and grandson, and officially, with the Seymour and Wilson Families united, there was no way his parents would go over to that bastard’s side.
"Mom, Dad, let’s get inside now." Ethan said with a smile, as long as James’s engagement party went smoothly, nothing else mattered to him.
"Hold on." Old Mr. Seymour motioned with his hand, not following Ethan inside, but instead asked, "Did you send us an invitation?"
"Yes." Ethan nodded in acknowledgment, then curiously asked, "Mom, Dad, you didn’t receive it? Can’t be, right? I personally handed it to the courier, and it showed as signed for."
Old Mr. Seymour’s expression instantly darkened upon hearing this.
Ethan realized something was wrong, it seemed like his dad was angry.
However, Ethan didn’t quite understand why his dad was upset: "Dad, what’s the matter? Today is James’s big day, why are you not happy?"
"You sent our invitation by courier?" Old Mr. Seymour huffed in displeasure, "What do you think we are? Your peers or beneath your status?"
Ethan awkwardly pursed his lips and explained, "Dad, I was just too busy. You know, with all the engagement preparations, especially since it’s our family organizing it, it had to be the best, which means more work."
"So busy that you couldn’t even personally deliver an invitation to me?" Old Mr. Seymour asked with a cold chuckle, "You had plenty of time when you came over to complain about Charles, didn’t you?"
"Dad, today... let’s not talk about this now." Ethan knew his actions were a bit improper, but surely such matters didn’t need fussing between father and son.
"Mom, Dad, let’s head inside first, whatever you have to say, you can scold me after the engagement party." Ethan quickly suggested, as they were in the elevator lobby; it would be embarrassing if someone overheard.
"No need, I’m busy today." Old Mr. Seymour had no intention of attending James Reed’s engagement party.
Ethan’s smile instantly froze, and with a grim face, he asked, "Dad, are you going to that... Charles Seymour’s engagement party?"
