Chapter 325 - 165: What’s Wrong With You Today
CHAPTER 325: CHAPTER 165: WHAT’S WRONG WITH YOU TODAY
Seeing Liu Ya still looking at Sang Wan with suspicion, fully determined not to stop until she found fault.
Shi Fengju, both amused and annoyed, glared at her and said, "What are you staring at? Have you gone dumb?"
"Yes, this slave will call someone to fetch water right away!" Liu Ya replied in a fluster.
"This maid is truly loyal to you," Shi Fengju said to Sang Wan with a smile.
Sang Wan shook her head resignedly with a smile.
Shi Fengju quickly washed his face and combed his hair, then began hovering around Sang Wan, sitting by her side, beaming as he watched the maid styling her hair and applying her makeup with pure enjoyment. The hair-combing lady, seeing him there, got so nervous she could barely hold the comb steady. While she would usually share a laugh or two with Sang Wan, this time she didn’t dare to breathe too loudly.
Everyone whispered in amazement, wondering when the young master had become so smitten with his wife. Noticing the smiles in the corners of Sang Wan’s eyes and lips, her shy and indescribable look as they exchanged glances and smiles — were they even sweeter than during their honeymoon?
Others thought it was strange but brushed it off, except for Liu Ya, who, while leading the other maids to tidy the bedroom, noticed the bedsheets had clearly been changed, yet she couldn’t find the old ones anywhere.
Liu Ya couldn’t help but feel bewildered.
Though she was inexperienced, she wasn’t young enough to be totally ignorant. Seeing the obviously ruffled bedsheets, she suddenly had an epiphany and involuntarily gasped. The younger maids looked over curiously; Liu Ya hurriedly waved her hands and said with a laugh, "It’s nothing, it’s nothing! Hurry, change these sheets and clean the room! Later, if the weather is good, take out the bedding and pillows to air them!" After giving her orders, she went out to find Sang Wan, burning with curiosity to confirm her suspicions.
But with Shi Fengju constantly by Sang Wan’s side, despite her dying curiosity, where would she find the chance to ask? She became so anxious that she couldn’t keep still.
Shi Fengju imageNamed and Sang Wan soon noticed her restlessness. Shi Fengju, somewhat annoyed, complained, "This girl has been acting weird all morning!"
"Liu Ya!" Shi Fengju called out sternly, "Go check if breakfast is ready, and set it up!"
"The young master, preparations were already made!" Liu Ya quickly responded, yet she lingered, unwilling to leave.
Shi Fengju frowned and said, "You maid, pacing back and forth all morning, what’s going on? If there’s something, just speak up quickly!"
Sang Wan saw the signs of his anger and playfully scolded him with a smile, "Why are you getting angry with a maid! Liu Ya, aren’t you going down to hurry them along, get breakfast ready quickly!"
"Yes, ma’am!" Liu Ya had no choice but to suppress her doubts and leave, waiting for a better opportunity to inquire.
"Don’t be angry, she’s just... just caring about me..." Sang Wan’s face grew warm, as last night’s events must have frightened the maid.
Shi Fengju also remembered the incident and chuckled, looking at her deeply, "This maid of yours is truly loyal! But perhaps too straightforward! Thinking I would bully you?"
Sang Wan rolled her eyes at him silently, thinking to herself, aren’t you actually bullying me?
Shi Fengju watched her pretending to be annoyed yet looking lovable, which delighted his heart immensely, smiling continuously as he admired her, contentedly.
Once everything was in order, the two went to the side hall for breakfast.
"You all can leave; no need to serve here!" Shi Fengju finally had his beloved in his arms and naturally wanted to be alone with her passionately without anyone interfering.
Seeing her gaze directly at him, with something flickering deep in her eyes, Sang Wan knew he was up to no good. But being his woman already, what could she refuse? So she let him have his way with a smile.
Liu Ya and the others silently took their leave.
"Miss Wan!" Shi Fengju could hardly wait to pull her beside him, nuzzling his face against hers with a loving chuckle, "What would you like to eat? I’ll get it for you."
Sang Wan playfully rolled her eyes at him, picking up a piece of his favorite chicken soup dumpling and gently placing it on the small plate before him, whispering with mock resentment, "You know everything I like, yet you need to ask me."
Hearing her coquetry, Shi Fengju’s heart rejoiced, feeling somewhat guilty. He held her close and said with a smile, "Good Miss Wan, I’ll remember everything you like in the future! You’re so kind to me; I must repay you generously!" He then urged her to tell him what she liked.
Sang Wan loved those small dumplings stuffed with tofu, wood ear mushroom, and ham, and she mentioned it with a smile. Shi Fengju picked one up and fed her directly, "Here, let me serve you for once, are you satisfied now?"
