Mrs. Li was overjoyed upon hearing this idea and without waiting for Sang Pingliang to speak, she hastily nodded, "Great! This idea is wonderful! I haven’t seen Miss Gu for a long time, I’ve been wanting to visit her as well!"

"Don’t worry, I’ll be quick!" Mrs. Li, elated upon hearing this, hurriedly went to pack, then called for Sang Yan and Sang Rou to give them respective instructions.

Her instructions to Sang Yan naturally came with many cautions about taking care of herself, not to suffer in silence, to close the door early at night, and not to go out needlessly. The instructions to Sang Rou, however, were less pleasant, not sparing harsh scolding and threats, emphasizing that she must not be lazy, and must be agile and industrious, else she would face severe consequences when her mother returned!

Sang Rou responded timidly with her head down and eyes lowered, but secretly she was overjoyed. With her parents away and Sang Yan being naively honest, wouldn’t she have a say in the house? At least she wouldn’t be so weary, could eat better, and sleep more in the morning. She couldn’t wait for them to leave!

"You wretched girl, if I come back to find a single hair missing from Ayan or if she has lost any weight, I will break your legs!" Mrs. Li left these harsh words, grabbed her package, and without any politeness thrust it into Rouge’s hands, "Hold this properly!"

Rouge dared not object and quickly caught it. Though Sang Pingliang frowned slightly displeased, he was not willing to create more issues at this critical juncture, pretending not to see, and with a smile towards Hu San, he said, "Young brother Hu San, let’s be off!"

"Alright, let’s go!" Hu San couldn’t have agreed quicker, eagerly leading them to the carriage and whisking it away in a cloud of dust.

When Gu Fangzi saw that Hu San not only fetched Sang Pingliang but also brought Mrs. Li and Sang Pingliang’s concubine, she was delighted as it played right into her hands. Grateful for the relief from her uneasy heart, she generously rewarded the overjoyed Hu San.
