Rebirth: Divorcing the Billionaire
Chapter 253 - 251: He was disliked
CHAPTER 253: CHAPTER 251: HE WAS DISLIKED
BANG!
Before anyone present could react, Si Yuhuan smashed his fist hard into Si Junyan’s face.
He howled in pain.
"Si Yuhuan, you dare to hit me!"
Blood gushed from his nose. Wincing, he clutched it and roared at his bodyguards, who had just snapped to attention, "Are you all made of wood? Get him already!"
Remembering how Si Yuhuan had beaten him again and again, like he was nothing, fury burned within him. He had brought these men today specifically to give Si Yuhuan a taste of his own medicine. He was intent on vengeance; today, he would beat Si Yuhuan up, no matter what. Even if Sister Meng pleaded for Si Yuhuan, he wouldn’t stop until Si Yuhuan was on the ground searching for his teeth, kneeling and begging for mercy. Only then could he vent the hatred in his heart.
The bodyguards cracked their knuckles, their eyes fierce as they stared at Si Yuhuan, looking as if they were about to pounce and flay him alive.
Jian Xi clutched her phone nervously, wondering if her call to her Fourth Brother would get him here in time to save the day.
Suddenly, the sound of rustling footsteps came from outside.
The door opened, and a squad of police officers followed Yan Qing in.
"It’s them!" Yan Qing pointed at Si Junyan and shamelessly accused him. "They attacked someone for no reason, broke into the hospital room, and intimidated the patient. Please take care of this."
Si Junyan was so angry he nearly spat blood. Hadn’t they had enough of these tricks?! Always calling the police! How shameless!
He covered his face, feeling wronged. "Hey! Officers, look carefully! I’m the one who’s been beaten, and my bodyguards are about to get justice for me."
Jian Xi snickered at Si Junyan’s foolishness. "You want to hit back just because you got hit? Do you think this is the era of the Black Society, where might makes right? Second Young Master Si, when you have a moment, please brush up on your law! Learn how to resolve disputes correctly!"
She addressed the police, "Si Yuhuan is seriously ill; his medical records are in the hospital. He even has trouble with basic movements, let alone getting out of bed to beat up an adult, healthy man! This person is lying. Please take him away for proper questioning. Bringing so many bodyguards to the hospital—is he here seeking revenge?"
"Also, he has a criminal record and is said to have a mental illness. I strongly recommend you handcuff and shackle him for safety when you take him away."
Upon hearing Si Junyan had a mental illness, the police immediately took out handcuffs.
"Quick, handcuff him!"
What if he were to hurt them!
Si Junyan was so furious he almost spat blood. "Are you all in cahoots, or did Jian Xi bribe you?! Why handcuff me? I’m the victim! And you damn bodyguards, what are you standing around for?! I pay you a fortune, not to be decorations!"
An officer retorted angrily, "Are you suggesting they should attack us too? You’re clearly not right in the head!"
Si Junyan was so enraged by the retort he nearly spat blood.
The bodyguards, who had been menacing just moments ago, now stood with their heads bowed, not daring to breathe heavily, no matter how much Si Junyan berated them.
Si Junyan was dragged out. His howls echoed through the hallway. His curses were vile, and being reprimanded like this was utterly humiliating.
Yan Qing nodded. "Boss, I learned all this from Madam."
After saying his piece, he obediently closed the door and hurried out.
Si Yuhuan’s handsome face darkened, his mood exceptionally foul.
Jian Xi shrugged. "When a hero is down on his luck, he gets bullied by lesser men. You’ll have to gradually get used to this kind of life."
After her interactions with Luo You and Fu Shengyuan last night, she was thoroughly convinced there was no hope for Si Yuhuan’s comeback.
"You still care about me," Si Yuhuan asserted confidently.
Jian Xi shot him a look. "Alright, stop playing dead. After today, I’m done taking care of you."
She needed to visit her grandfather.
Si Yuhuan immediately clutched his abdomen, leaning against the bed. "Fine, go. I don’t need you to take care of me."
He stubbornly refused.
Jian Xi bit her lip and went over to support him. "Is it really bad? Did you pull your wound?"
Serves him right! Biting off more than he could chew.
"Don’t you know you’re injured? Why did you have to hit him? Weren’t you afraid his men would beat you to death?" she complained, pressing the nurse call button.
This woman was heartless! Si Yuhuan fumed internally. If he hadn’t intervened, Si Junyan would have been walking all over her! That bastard, relying on others’ influence! He hadn’t realized before just how contemptible Si Junyan was!
"Didn’t you say you wouldn’t care about me?" he asked, a bit petulant.
Jian Xi clenched her small fists in frustration. "I really don’t want to get involved with you! But if you died, I’d inevitably be held responsible. Once you’re better, stay far away from me. Whether you live or die then will have nothing to do with me!"
"Go! I don’t need your help! If you’re worried about responsibility, I can write a waiver."
"Director Si, just behave yourself! And cut the crap!"
She unceremoniously pushed Si Yuhuan back down onto the bed.
The young nurse entered with a tray. "Did the wound tear open?"
Si Yuhuan lifted his gown, revealing a toned waist and well-defined abs. The young nurse’s heart fluttered as she stared, captivated.
So handsome! she thought. She’d be happy to change his dressing every day.
Jian Xi felt an inexplicable surge of annoyance. She pulled the blanket over Si Yuhuan. "His wound is too complex for you. You should get the attending physician."
She took out her phone and called her Fourth Brother.
What is wrong with him?! Jian Xi fumed silently. A patient, and he’s already attracting admirers!
Jian Sirun had only just lain down to rest for a few minutes when an urgent ringing woke him.
Jian Xi’s incessant calls had summoned him to the ward.
"Fourth Brother, Si Junyan came looking for trouble just now. Si Yuhuan’s wound reopened while he was protecting me. Could you please stitch it up for him?"
The young nurse, who had seemed reluctant just moments before, nearly had her eyes pop out when she saw Jian Sirun himself arrive to suture a wound.
Her gaze towards Jian Xi instantly filled with reverence.
This was a genius in the medical field, a true luminary, and Jian Xi was his sister! It immediately cast Jian Xi in a more impressive light.
"I’ll prepare the medicine and gauze right away."
Jian Sirun, his handsome face looking weary, sighed. "I owe you for this one."
For his little sister’s sake, he was working himself to the bone, practically on the verge of collapse! And yet, his little sister only had eyes for that man! Was he, her brother, not handsome or impressive enough?
Jian Sirun’s movements were steady, precise, and ruthless. Claiming Si Yuhuan couldn’t tolerate anesthetics, he sutured the wound, ensuring Si Yuhuan felt intense pain throughout the procedure.
Si Yuhuan gritted his teeth and endured it without a single whimper.
After the final stitch, Jian Sirun couldn’t resist a sarcastic remark, "It’s been too long since I performed such a simple procedure. I’m a bit rusty."
Jian Xi, her heart in her throat, kept wiping sweat from Si Yuhuan’s brow.
She stayed by his side throughout the entire procedure, deeply impressed by Si Yuhuan’s fortitude.
She couldn’t help but complain, "Fourth Brother, your technique is terrible, even worse than that young nurse! I suggest you go back to basics. Otherwise, who knows how much your future patients will suffer? Your skills are seriously lacking."
With poorly concealed distress, she helped Si Yuhuan lie down. "Next time, don’t let him suture you. We should get the attending physician."
Jian Sirun wore an expression of disbelief. Was his own little sister actually looking down on him?
A cold smirk touched Si Yuhuan’s lips. This bit of suffering was nothing. Her concern and distress made it all worthwhile.
"Fourth Brother, thank you for your trouble," Si Yuhuan replied with a smile.
