Rebirth: Divorcing the Billionaire
Chapter 265 - 263 Automatically Delivering Oneself
CHAPTER 265: CHAPTER 263 AUTOMATICALLY DELIVERING ONESELF
"Jian Xi, can you be a little nicer to me?"
His tone was somewhat humble, a stark contrast to his usual demeanor. The domineering air was gone, replaced by the gentle grace of a good man.
Jian Xi spread her hands. "How am I not being nice? Since you were injured and hospitalized, haven’t I been by your side, helping you recover?"
He made her compassionate care sound like the reluctant work of a nanny.
As Jian Xi spoke, Si Yuhuan’s expression darkened.
Just when Jian Xi thought her words would drive Si Yuhuan away, he lay down on her bed, pulling her blanket and pillow to himself. "I pulled my wound when I came up. It’s not good for me to move now. I’m tired. Let’s sleep."
Rogue!
Jian Xi’s eyes widened as she stared at him. Her lips moved, but no words came out. Huffing, she turned and went to the guest room next door.
The more she thought about it, the angrier she became. What on earth does this bastard want? To force himself on me?
She wanted to call Wan Yu to vent, but when she reached for her phone, she realized it was still in the master bedroom where Si Yuhuan was. She hadn’t brought it with her.
Jian Xi changed into a thick set of pajamas—ones that wouldn’t easily reveal her pregnancy—and tiptoed into the master bedroom.
She could hear the man’s steady breathing. In the moonlight, she saw Si Yuhuan’s calm, handsome face, his chin slightly rough with stubble. It seemed he hadn’t had a good day.
Jian Xi held her breath and tiptoed to the bedside to search for her phone.
She remembered tossing it beside the pillow. Where did it go?
Suddenly, Si Yuhuan turned over.
Jian Xi’s heart leaped into her throat.
Seeing his breathing was still even and that he was sound asleep, she carefully reached out, feeling under his pillow.
What’s going on? Why isn’t it here?
After searching everywhere else, Jian Xi was certain the phone had to be under Si Yuhuan’s pillow. She had no choice but to climb onto the bed. Kneeling opposite him, she began to feel around.
Her fingertips brushed against his thick hair, and Jian Xi’s heart pounded like a drum.
The night was so silent you could hear a pin drop. Her heart hammered against her ribs—THUMP, THUMP, THUMP—with a thief’s guilt. Flustered, she lost her balance. Just as she was about to fall onto him, she managed to catch herself with her hands.
Yet she froze, barely an inch from Si Yuhuan.
Suddenly, the man opened his eyes.
His deep gaze was reflected in Jian Xi’s pupils.
"What are you doing?" he asked, his voice hoarse, a teasing glint in his eyes.
Jian Xi scrambled to get up, but he grabbed her elbow with a large hand. He rolled over, pinning her beneath him, his body pressing down. Before Jian Xi could react, he kissed her, a dominant, devouring kiss.
"MMMM—"
I’m pregnant! I absolutely can’t sleep with him!
She struggled desperately. The man’s body grew hotter, as if it were about to ignite.
His gaze seemed to pierce her very soul. One look from him, and Jian Xi felt an irresistible, dangerous attraction, like lightning striking dry tinder. His handsome face is a crime in itself! Jian Xi bit down hard on Si Yuhuan’s lip. He groaned in pain and reluctantly pushed her away.
Jian Xi regained her senses and used all her strength to twist free.
She staggered back, putting a safe distance between them. "Si Yuhuan, are you an animal driven solely by your lower body?"
Unable to contain her anger, she cursed aloud.
Si Yuhuan’s face was grim. "You came into my room in the middle of the night to seduce me!"
"Who seduced you? I was looking for my phone!"
CLICK!
The bedside lamp switched on.
He yanked the pillow away; there was nothing underneath. Jian Xi pursed her lips, feeling defenseless. "That’s impossible. My phone, I clearly..."
She looked up and saw her phone on the cabinet by the door.
Si Yuhuan raised an eyebrow. "I left it by the door for you, but you didn’t get it. Instead, you had to climb onto the bed and feel me up. So I kissed you. What’s the big deal?"
Jian Xi’s heart ached with anger.
This shameless wretch!
Thinking that she was carrying *his* child, Jian Xi felt as if the entire world had wronged her.
Her anger flared. She pointed at Si Yuhuan and growled, "This is my home! We’re divorced, yet you insist on staying in my bed! Get it straight who the owner is here. How dare you talk to me like that? Do you want to be kicked out?"
Jian Xi didn’t need a mirror to know her current demeanor was the spitting image of Si Yuhuan from six months prior.
The tables have turned! With his pride, he should finally leave, right?
Si Yuhuan got out of bed.
The movement clearly aggravated his wound; he winced and flinched in pain.
Jian Xi instinctively wanted to help him but forced herself to hold back.
"Fine, the master bedroom is yours."
With that, he actually left the room.
Jian Xi felt a strange ache deep in her heart, which she fiercely suppressed.
To her surprise, he didn’t go downstairs and leave. Instead, she heard a door slam in the room next door. Jian Xi’s eyes widened.
"Hey! I’m kicking you out of the house!"
Not telling you to go to the guest room, you man! Damn it!
The tearing ache in her heart, which had just begun to reopen, inexplicably started to mend. Jian Xi was frustrated with her own weakness.
His scent lingered everywhere: on the bed, the pillows, the blankets, the sheets.
The faint smell of antiseptic mingled with his favorite sandalwood, creating a cool, piercing aroma reminiscent of an icy breeze from snow-capped mountains.
Her phone was within reach, but she no longer felt like looking at it.
Her mind kept replaying what had just happened, Si Yuhuan restraining himself again and again. He couldn’t possibly have a mental problem, could he?
The shock Si Junyan gave him was significant. He can’t be so seriously ill that he won’t recover, can he?
Jian Xi mused that once she got the shares back, she would find a way to scrape together a billion to give him as compensation. Then, they could finally go their separate ways.
Before she knew it, she drifted off to sleep.
Meanwhile, Si Yuhuan took out his phone and searched Baidu for tips from netizens on how to woo women.
The tip with the most likes was the "Be Shameless" strategy.
Below it, various methods were listed, presented as if they were precious treasures.
If one approach works, they all should, right?
In a foul mood, Si Yuhuan tossed his phone aside. What kind of nonsense is this!
He felt like he wasn’t himself anymore. To pursue a woman using such methods... it’s truly... too shameless!
「The next morning.」
Jian Xi woke up to find Si Yuhuan gone.
Did he just leave like that?
Aunt Zhang came in and saw Jian Xi standing dumbfounded on the landing, looking puzzled. "Miss Jian, what are you looking at?"
She then smacked her forehead as if suddenly remembering something. "Oh, right! I saw Mr. Si leave in a hurry earlier. Did you two have a disagreement?"
Jian Xi shook her head but said nothing.
She needed to change and go discuss with her eldest and second brothers how to fight for the five percent of Haohan Group’s shares currently in Si Junyan’s hands.
Suddenly, Aunt Zhang screamed from the next room.
"Madam! Come quickly and look at this!"
Jian Xi’s heart leaped. Could it be? Did Si Yuhuan’s wound reopen and start bleeding in the room he stayed in last night?
She rushed over. Aunt Zhang was holding a check with "two billion" clearly written on it. Beside it lay a note: "For you. Consider it divorce compensation."
What does he mean by this?
