CHAPTER 398: CHAPTER 407: THEFT

Jian Zhiqing casually crossed his legs and leaned back.

"Captain Wang, I want to accuse them of trespassing into my house and theft."

"What nonsense are you spouting?" Hu Li shrieked, "What do you mean ’your house’? That’s clearly my house!"

Upon hearing this, Qin Xiangnuan’s lips curved into a slight smile. Did she look foolish to them? When buying the Siheyuan, she had used Qin Xiangyang’s name. However, later on, it had all been transferred to Jian Zhiqing’s name. Even the internet café, that plot of land, and Granny Lu’s shop, she had bought it all under Jian Zhiqing’s name. To think they could take away something from her – the Qin Family seemed to be still dreaming.

"Shut up!" Captain Wang detested uncultured rural women who only knew how to cause a commotion every day.

Hu Li hurriedly closed her mouth but her eyes remained fixed on Qin Xiangnuan.

"Officer, please," she pleaded, "don’t listen to his nonsense. That house belongs to our Qin Family, you can check if you don’t believe me. The house is under the Qin surname, it’s ours."

"No need for you to say so, I will naturally check."

Captain Wang had already instructed his subordinates to check. Actually, he knew without checking that what Jian Zhiqing said would definitely be true. If he could say such things, then it was indeed true. He has no idea what kind of luck had brought this family here to offend Jian Zhiqing.

To offend Jian Zhiqing is to offend The Jians, the Qiao Family

In the Capital City, The Jians and the Qiao Family were exceptional existences in their own right. Who wouldn’t give face to these two families? Only fools would dig their graves by challenging authority.

Before long, a junior policeman arrived with a document in hand.

"Captain, we have already checked it. The Siheyuan indeed belongs to Secretary Jian; all the paperwork is in order, purchased seven years ago."

Captain Wang’s expression had already soured, his eyes narrowing as he swept over Hu Li and her two sons.

"What were you doing breaking into someone else’s house? What have you taken from them?"

Hu Li felt as if she had been punched. This couldn’t be possible; she didn’t believe it, absolutely didn’t believe it; the Siheyuan was clearly bought by Qin Xiangnuan, if she bought it, then it was the Qin Family’s, it was hers, Hu Li’s. But now how had it become someone else’s property?

"Captain Wang," Jian Zhiqing tapped his finger lightly on the table before speaking in a measured tone,

"That man is still wearing my clothes and carrying my watch – an Omega, gold-plated, valued at nine thousand eight hundred in the market."

Qin Pengfei instinctively drew his wrist back, but it was too late. He had deliberately flaunted that watch in front of everyone just before, and now it turned into tangible evidence against him, for breaking and entering and theft. These two charges were not minor; it would lead to being locked up.

If he was locked up for real, it would be a permanent stain on his life, one that could never be washed away. Qin Pengfei was not a fool, and neither was Hu Li.

"Hand it over." Captain Wang extended his hand towards Qin Pengfei.

Confess to leniency, resist and face strictness.

Qin Pengfei had never seen such a lineup before. Originally full of confidence, he now became a head-shrinking turtle, hurriedly placing the watch he was wearing on his wrist onto the table. Captain Wang took the watch and looked at it for a long time. It was new, an Omega, a brand that is very expensive nowadays, and it was even gold-plated. Based on their family’s means, they couldn’t afford such a watch.

Qin Pengfei’s gaze darted around, avoiding eye contact with anyone.

"Secretary Jian, how do you want to deal with this matter? Breaking and entering is not a minor offense. Should we arrest him?"

"No, please don’t!" Qin Pengfei quickly grabbed Hu Li’s hand. "Mom, I don’t want to be arrested, I don’t want to be locked up. It was you who let me choose any room. I didn’t know someone was living there."

Hu Li’s face immediately turned ugly, and Captain Wang felt as if a flock of crows had flown over his head.

He had seen those who betray their fathers but not those who betray their mothers.

"Qin Xiangnuan, how dare you?" Hu Li suddenly stood up, screaming sharply at Qin Xiangnuan, "If you dare to lock up my son, I’ll take your life."

Chun Xiangnuan faintly curled her lips.

"You’ve already wanted my life more than once."

Suddenly, Hu Li choked up as if she had swallowed a fly.

Jian Zhiqing took Qin Xiangnuan out of the police station, while Hu Li and her two sons stayed nicely for a few days. Without a lesson, they would never understand that no one is a pushover to be kneaded at their whim.

"Let’s go back," Jian Zhiqing straightened Qin Xiangnuan’s clothes. "Little girl, you’re getting bolder, daring to chop people with a kitchen knife."

Qin Xiangnuan snorted, "Chopping one down, I still make a profit."

Jian Zhiwang sighed lightly. It seems that the young girl’s hatred for the Qin Family was much heavier than he had thought. How deep must the hatred be for her to not think of anything else, to wield a kitchen knife, and to even risk a situation where both sides perish?

When she returned home, Qin Xiangnuan’s room was still a mess. The blankets and such were all thrown on the ground, and a red suitcase was piled up there on the floor. Qin Xiangmei probably hadn’t had the chance yet to rummage through the things in the room and was only concerned with sleeping. Otherwise, the room wouldn’t be like this, with the cabinet doors closed and the drawers untouched. But now, Qin Xiangnuan didn’t want the beddings anymore. After being used by Qin Xiangmei, she found them dirty and didn’t even want to touch them.

She kicked the blankets out, bundled up the sheets, packed everything together, and threw them all out. The entire room reeked of an earthy smell mixed with the stench of foot odor, which was disgusting. She could barely stand the smell, so she hurriedly left the room, breathing deeply the fresh air outside.

At this moment, Jian Zhiqing also came out with his bedding. Seeing Qin Xiangnuan and the pile of bedding on the ground, he knew she didn’t want them anymore.

Forget it, just throw them away. In fact, not only Qin Xiangnuan, even he himself felt disgusted. He had been a soldier, always self-disciplined. He washed his own socks and underwear daily, while Qin Pengfei certainly didn’t have such good habits. He could wear socks for several days without washing them, and when he did wash them, he left it to Hu Li. So, he rolled them into Jian Zhiwang’s blankets, instantly transferring the stench of foot odor to the inside of the blankets.

Jian Zhiqing walked out with his bedding and then stood in front of Qin Xiangnuan.

"Do you want to throw them out or wash them?"

"Throw them out, I don’t want them," Qin Xiangnuan said with disgust, kicking the blanket at her feet. "It’s too disgusting, stinks to death."

Jian Zhiqing said nothing more, as he felt the same way. He squatted down, picked up the blankets, and walked outside, throwing them away somewhere. Qin Xiangnuan stood outside for a long time, waiting until the smell inside had dissipated before she went back in, re-made her bed with new bedding, and felt that somewhere in the room was not clean. So, she bought a bottle of disinfectant 84 and wiped here and there.
