Rebirth in 1980: The Farm Wife Makes a Comeback
Chapter 408: Another Deal
CHAPTER 408: CHAPTER 408: ANOTHER DEAL
"You say how much money you sold it for, and I’ll give you ten times that amount."
Qin Xiangnuan’s mind was spinning quickly, ten times one thousand is ten thousand, ten thousand yuan, oh my, ten thousand yuan, her three years of college living expenses are all here, and she could live lavishly for three years. With this money, she could buy anything she wants, get anything she desires.
All those skincare products, clothes, shoes, jewelry, not just things you wish for but can actually have.
"Are you serious?" She was still somewhat disbelieving, not suspecting that Qin Xiangnuan might be tricking her.
"Yes," Qin Xiangnuan propped up her cheek with one hand on the table, "You heard right, and I didn’t say it wrong. You tell me, how much did that person offer? I’ll give you ten times that."
"One thousand," Qin Xiangnuan gave in as if the pot was already broken, with ten thousand yuan, who would want to stay here. "My classmate gave me one thousand," she raised her chin in an indifferent manner, it’s just a lousy screen after all, but to be able to sell it for one thousand, you should be thanking me. I sold that broken screen for so much money. Anyway, the money is already on my card, when the time comes, I’ll withdraw it and give you your share. I think that broken screen is worth about one hundred to two hundred yuan at most, I’ll give you two hundred, and you won’t lose out."
Qin Xiangnuan curled her red lips, in her lifetime, Qin Xiangmei was really quite foolish.
She’s saying she would pay ten times the price to buy it back, would she still care about a mere two hundred yuan? Also, what ’lousy bread style’, this foolish woman actually sold it for a thousand yuan when Mr. Song was willing to offer one hundred thousand in the past, she did not sell it then. Not selling for one hundred thousand but selling for one thousand, only an idiot would make such a deal. And only someone as insanely selfish as Qin Xiangmei could do such a thing.
And Qin Xiangmei shamelessly admitting that she sold the screen really angered Granny Lu and Qin Xiangyang, even causing them heartache. After all, it was someone else’s property, how could she just sell it without asking the owner? In the future, everything in this house, could she just sell or take whatever she fancies?
Jian Zhiqing leaned to the side and kept quiet, but she knew that Qin Xiangmei could not stay here any longer, keeping her here would only lead to trouble down the road.
Qin Xiangnuan directly pulled out a bank card and gave it to Qin Xiangyang.
"Brother, withdraw ten thousand yuan early morning tomorrow, and go with her to buy back the screen."
"I got it," Qin Xiangyang safely tucked away the card, his eyes growing colder and more distant towards Qin Xiangmei.
Yet, Qin Xiangmei is indifferent to the disgust others hold for her, no, even if she knew, what could she do about it? It wasn’t that she had thick skin, but rather she did not have any self-awareness and took everything for granted.
She lacked gratitude, she lacked morality, she was exactly the Qin Xiangnuan from her memories, except for a change in appearance, everything else remained unchanged, still disgustingly self-serving.
The next day, sure enough, Qin Xiangyang withdrew ten thousand yuan with the card. In regards to how much money was actually on Qin Xiangnuan’s card, Qin Xiangmei had no idea, but seeing the ten thousand yuan made her salivate, and towards that card her heart was unusually excited, wishing desperately that the card was hers.
"Brother, how much money is on that card?"
She tentatively asked about the balance on the card in Qin Xiangyang’s hand. This one word ’brother’ gave Qin Xiangyang goosebumps all over his body; it was crocodile tears, it was the devil’s smile, he dared not take it, nor did he dare to have such a sister.
He hurriedly put the card into his pocket, too lazy to even speak with Qin Xiangmei.
When he actually got to the door of Qin Xiangmei’s dorm, he waited outside. It was a girls’ dormitory; he couldn’t possibly go in, so he could only wait here.
"I’ll wait here for you, hand over the screen when you come, and I’ll hand over the money."
Qin Xiangyang patted the money half-sticking out of his pocket. The money was right here; if you want it, bring the screen. Although, that screen was originally theirs, but because of Qin Xiangmei, they still had to spend money to buy it back. This business, truly was made at a loss.
Qin Xiangmei felt her face getting hot, but in the end, she still went to find someone. After all, she just needed to get the money in hand. As for everything else, who cares what happens.
"He Juan, He Juan..." She pushed open the door to the dormitory and called out for He Juan, but after looking around, she couldn’t find any trace of He Juan.
"Have you guys seen He Juan?" She was getting anxious. Where did she go?
He Juan, the other students looked at each other, at a loss. They didn’t know where He Juan had gone either.
"She might still be in the cafeteria," one classmate tentatively answered, "She said she was hungry, maybe she went there to buy food."
"Eating at this time, why doesn’t she eat herself to death?" Qin Xiangnuan muttered under her breath and turned towards the school’s cafeteria. The school had two cafeterias, one large and one small. Most students ate at the large one because the food prices were cheaper. However, because more people came, it got especially crowded at meal times, to the point where there was sometimes nowhere to sit. The smaller cafeteria, on the other hand, had significantly fewer people; the food was better, but correspondingly, the prices were also much higher. As a result, the majority of students still chose to eat at the large, more economical cafeteria.
Qin Xiangmei didn’t know much about He Juan’s family circumstances, but she assumed it couldn’t be too well off; after all, they lived in the same dormitory and everyone’s clothing, food, and living expenses were about at the same level; no one had much more than the others.
Qin Xiangmei headed straight for the large cafeteria. It wasn’t mealtime, so there were very few people eating. Looking across the large cafeteria, there were only a few people, which made it easy for Qin Xiangmei to spot He Juan.
"He Juan," her eyes brightened and she ran over, plopping down across from her.
"It’s you?" He Juan seemed a bit distracted upon seeing Qin Xiangmei. She quickly averted her gaze and pretended to eat the noodles she had just gotten.
"He Juan, I have a business proposition for you," Qin Xiangmei pulled He Juan up to leave, but how could He Juan go with her? She hadn’t finished her noodles yet, and the person she was most afraid to see right now was naturally Qin Xiangmei.
"I don’t want to go right now, wait till I finish my noodles," He Juan subtly pulled away Qin Xiangmei’s hand. The noodles she ordered, she had barely had a few bites.
"What are you still eating?" Qin Xiangmei pulled on He Juan’s arm again, "Someone wants to buy that screen, for 2000 yuan. We could each get 500 yuan."
Qin Xiangmei’s business savvy was indeed sharp. Qin Xiangnuan said ten thousand yuan, and of course that ten thousand yuan was hers; at most, she would put out only one yuan. Even if it was 1000 yuan, they had to split it between two people. Just think how good this deal was; each of them could suddenly earn an extra 500 yuan just by running an errand. So, she urged He Juan hastily, "Hurry and get that screen back, so we can split the money."
