CHAPTER 465: CHAPTER 465: MISCHIEF

Qin Xiangnuan stared at the three dishes on the table, not knowing how much time had passed.

She pointed to the dishes, which didn’t even have a bit of minced meat, "Can we order something better?"

"Eat," Jian Zhiqing picked up a piece of tofu and placed it in her bowl, "Don’t be picky. In a few days, when you grow up a bit more, I’ll take you out for something nice."

"Grow up?" Qin Xiangnuan’s eyes widened, "I’ve been growing for so long, how can I grow more?"

"Yes, quite a lot," Jian Zhiqing’s gaze lingered on her chest momentarily, he, as a husband, surely knew exactly how much she had grown.

"Cough..." Qin Xiangnuan almost choked on her own saliva, and she stomped hard on Jian Zhiqing’s foot, prompting him to speak, to continue speaking nonsensically, although she admitted to herself that she had grown quite a bit, while she lowered her head and her face unavoidably reddened.

It feels like those medicines she took initially were right after all, having a fuller chest is indeed better than being flat. Nowadays, people are much more open-minded, not conservative like before. Back then, she wore a binder for years in order to conceal her curves. She used to regret letting herself grow so big, but now she thinks it’s great to walk with pride.

Jian Zhiqing smiled silently, then picked up another piece of tofu for her. A glint seemed to flash across his warm eyes, Qin Xiangnuan really wanted to step on his foot again. What kind of look was that, feeling frisky in broad daylight? And indeed, she was right after all.

For a young couple in their prime, it’s natural. Not to mention Jian Zhiqing, even Qin Xiangnuan herself was finding it hard to breathe, the sultry images from the past nearly made her choke on her saliva again.

And then Jian Zhiqing picked up another piece of tofu for himself, placing it by his mouth.

Having eaten vegetables and tofu for too long, it really was time to treat themselves to some meaty dishes.

Back at home, Qin Xiangnuan finally managed to thoroughly shower, as Granny Lu wasn’t at home. Qin Xiangyang had taken her to his place, worrying that Granny Lu would be unattended here alone.

Hot water poured down, giving Qin Xiangnuan a huge relief.

Washing away the dust of the past dozen days.

Submerging the bad luck of the past dozen days.

And also washing away the worries and fatigue of the past dozen days.

Occasionally as she touched her chest, there surged a ripple in her heart, as if that spot also trembled softly. Why did she, right now, start thinking of those addictive acts from her past life, something she never knew before.

Of course, it also depends on who it is with. With someone like Wang Dali, she could only feel disgust and hatred.

After showering, she put on her bathrobe, and while drying her hair, she walked about.

"Finished washing?" Jian Zhiqing took a towel and helped her dry her hair.

"Mm," Qin Xiangnuan softly responded, lowering her head, playing with her fingers.

Jian Zhiqing gently dried her hair, his fingers dexterous. The summer weather made the hair dry quickly.

"Aren’t you going for a shower, Brother Jian?" Qin Xiangnuan didn’t know what else to say, so she blurted out these words, then she herself paused, wondering why on earth she had to say that.

"I’ll go in a bit," Jian Zhiqing smiled, a trace of dark light flickering in his eyes.

His fingers unintentionally brushed against Qin Xiangnuan’s ear,

suddenly causing a tingling sensation that made Qin Xiangnuan’s body shudder. Jian Zhiqing noticed but chose not to say anything, considering the girl’s thin skin and fear of annoying her again.

"I’m going to shower," he handed the towel to Qin Xiangnuan, "Dry your hair a bit more, or you might catch a cold and end up in the hospital again."

Upon hearing the word ’hospital,’ Qin Xiangnuan instinctively felt scared. She never wanted to go there again. She took the towel and dried her hair thoroughly, just as Jian Zhiqing had suggested, fearing that otherwise not only she but also Jian Zhiqing might end up in the hospital.

Even if she didn’t care for herself, she should care for Jian Zhiqing, who had been hospitalized with her once. He was perfectly healthy, yet had to be isolated and have blood drawn. She would rather have more blood drawn herself than let Jian Zhiqing suffer with her.

She turned on the TV, but didn’t pay attention to what was being shown, her mind wandering elsewhere.

Until a familiar warmth came from behind, making her fingers pause slightly.

Jian Zhiqing chuckled softly, a sound that made Qin Xiangnuan want to step on him. He was doing this on purpose, wasn’t he?

A hand reached around from behind and landed on her shoulder. Qin Jinuan stiffened, knowing what he was about to do.

His hand moved lower, to her waist, and with a flick, a hook, he had undone the sash on her bathrobe. This robe, especially made for Qin Xiangnuan, was easy to put on and take off, seemingly designed by Jian Zhiqing just for that purpose.

With no one else at home, they could freely engage in mischief,

and they did just that all afternoon, having not been together for nearly half a month. They say absence makes the heart grow fonder, and it was indeed the case.

By evening, Qin Xiangnuan was still asleep, utterly exhausted, her body sore all over. Jian Zhiqing gently stroked her face; Qin Xiangnuan opened her eyes and sadly realized she didn’t even have the strength to lift a finger.

Wasn’t this a bit unfair?

He was the one exerting effort, yet she was the one exhausted in the end.

"What do you want to eat? I’ll go buy it."

Jian Zhiqing wasn’t much of a cook, making noodles was possible, but Qin Xiangnuan didn’t particularly enjoy noodles, especially just after being discharged from the hospital. Better eat something good. And since the young lady was upset, a good bribe was necessary lest she ignore him.

"I want dumplings," said Qin Xiangnuan, feeling hungry after an afternoon of mischief.

"I’ll go buy them," Jian Zhiqing got ready to go out to buy dumplings. It wasn’t too late yet; he would drive there and be back soon. But as Jian Zhiqing was about to leave, Qin Xiangnuan grabbed his hand.

What’s wrong, Jian Zhiqing patted her hand soothingly, I’ll be back soon.

Remember to wear a mask, Qin Xiangnuan gripped his fingers tightly, pulling them to her lips and unapologetically biting down. She wanted him to feel pain so he’d remember to wear a mask, especially when outside.

Understood, Jian Zhiqing pinched her cheek again, covered her properly with the blanket, and then went out to buy the dumplings.

He drove away, bought the dumplings, and remembered to get vegetarian ones, as eating meat at night might be hard to digest. So, they would stick to vegetables and tofu for a few days, then gradually add more oils and liquids to their diet. This place’s dumplings were good, even the vegetarian ones, which Qin Xiangnuan usually enjoyed.
