CHAPTER 36: CHAPTER 36: SOMETHING HAPPENING AT HOME? (SECOND UPDATE)

"Sis, let’s play a few more rounds, you rarely come back." Tang Jun clung to Tang Yue wanting to continue playing games.

Zhang Hualian hurriedly said: "Xiao Jun, your sister isn’t leaving until tomorrow afternoon. It’s not early today; go to sleep soon."

"Dad, let’s play a few more rounds!" Tang Jun eagerly looked at Tang Zhengde.

He had just gotten the military chess game, and his excitement hadn’t worn off; he wished he could play all night.

"Just one more round and then go to sleep," Tang Zhengde indulged him.

After one round.

"Papa, one more round," Tang Jun pleaded pitifully.

"No, one round will lead to another, when will you sleep?" Tang Zhengde put away the military chess and said: "You can play again tomorrow, your sister bought it for you, aren’t you worried we won’t play?"

"Alright." Tang Jun snatched back the military chess, held it in his hands, and excitedly returned to his room.

Lying in bed, he thought about playing with Mo Weidong tomorrow; not to mention the people in the village, even if he brought it to school, everyone would surely enjoy it.

Perhaps it was being back in a familiar place, the quilt still smelled of the sun.

Tang Yue knew that this was because her mother Zhang Hualian knew she was coming back and had purposely taken the quilt out to air it. Sniffing the scent of the sun on the quilt, Tang Yue quickly fell asleep.

The next day, Tang Yue was woken up by Tang Jun.

"Sis, let’s play military chess," Tang Jun’s voice chimed cheerfully.

Tang Yue, still groggy and not fully awake, was finally taking a lazy sleep but got disturbed by Tang Jun; she pulled the quilt over her and said: "No, I’m going to sleep."

She rarely gave herself a break, and she wanted to sleep some more.

"Sis, wake up," Tang Jun shook her.

Tang Yue slapped over, not sure if she hit Tang Jun’s face or shoulder, and said, "Tang Jun, if you keep bothering me, next time I won’t buy you anything."

"Sis, then you sleep, I won’t disturb you," Tang Jun immediately backed off and quietly closed the door as he left.

She slept till she naturally woke up; it actually wasn’t too late, just after seven.

After washing up and having some porridge, Zhang Hualian was still busy in the kitchen, so Tang Yue took out the family’s clothes to wash. The yard had a well shared by Grandma Tang’s house and hers.

While drawing water, Tang Yue ignored Wang Aihua’s disdainful glance.

"Xiao Yue, go do your homework. Leave the clothes there; I’ll wash them," Zhang Hualian called out from the kitchen.

Tang Yue waved her hand and said: "No need, Mom, I have very little homework, it’ll be done soon; I’ll wash the clothes, go do what you need to."

After washing the clothes, Tang Yue tidied up both inside and outside the house. It’s not that Zhang Hualian wasn’t clean, but she had a lot to do every day, even doing some odd jobs to earn a bit of money, so the house might get neglected.

Sometimes, Zhang Hualian would clean up at night.

Coincidentally, Zhang Hualian had to go out for an odd job. After washing the dishes, she left the house and repeatedly reminded Tang Yue to wait for her return, as she would cook.

Tang Yue responded, but didn’t think much of it. She cleaned up the entire kitchen inside and out. By the time she finished these chores, most of the morning had passed, and she realized Tang Jun was not around after she completed her homework.

Tang Yue locked the house and went out to look for Tang Jun. Since she just fought with Tang Min yesterday, she certainly wouldn’t go looking for Tang Xian, so Tang Jun must have gone to see Mo Weidong.

Thinking of Mo Weidong, she remembered Mo Siyu.

Ever since she saw Mo Siyu the first week of school starting, she hadn’t seen him again and didn’t know where Mo Siyu had driven off to.

She had heard from a nurse before that Mo Siyu suffered a lot when he was young. Ultimately, he did make a splendid fortune, becoming a billionaire, but she also felt sorry for Mo Siyu, who had put so much effort into these properties.

Once, she had seen that Mo Siyu’s back was covered with scars, all from injuries sustained when he first started racing.

"Xiao Yue, why hasn’t Zhenzhen come home yet?" Mrs. Xu saw Tang Yue and immediately called out to her, "That girl, she didn’t even leave a message saying she won’t be back, and she hasn’t come home either, I’m really worried."

"Auntie, there hasn’t been any trouble at your house, has there?" Tang Yue suddenly asked.

Mrs. Xu looked bewildered and said to Tang Yue, "What trouble? Has something happened at my house?"

"I don’t know, Zhenzhen said there was some trouble at home, so she stole money from the girls in our dormitory, and it was recorded as a serious offense," Tang Yue slowly explained.

Tang Yue looked at the aunt whose eyes were familiar yet strange. In her past life, she treated Zhenzhen so well, she even considered Mrs. Xu as her own mother, and she rushed around the hospital when she was sick because she had lost her own mother.

But what about her?

She instigated Zhenzhen to steal from her.

Tang Yue took a deep breath, forcing herself not to think about the unpleasant things from her past life.

Mrs. Xu’s expression changed and she retorted in disbelief, "Impossible, my Zhenzhen would never steal."

"This is known by everyone at Wangjiang First Middle School, if you don’t believe it, you can ask Zou Xia," Tang Yue said, then quickly walked away, leaving Mrs. Xu in a flurry to go to Zou Xia’s house, and after she found out the truth.

Mrs. Xu immediately went to the county town, where she found Zhenzhen at her sister Liu Li’s place. Zhenzhen had just returned from buying clothes at Tang Mingli’s with Liu Li and was in a good mood until she saw Mrs. Xu standing at the door, fearing her deeds had been discovered.

"Mom," Zhenzhen muttered apprehensively.

"You still have the nerve to call me Mom!" Mrs. Xu, seeing Zhenzhen in this state, strode forward and slapped her hand across Zhenzhen’s face.

"Sister, why are you hitting the child?" Liu Li quickly intervened and reproached, "Zhenzhen is already sixteen, a young lady. Even if you are angry, you shouldn’t hit her."

"Lili, you have no idea, this child is going to be the death of me," Mrs. Xu, furious and upset, explained the situation and questioned angrily: "Zhenzhen, our family has never shorted you on food or clothes, your little aunt often buys you clothes too, I know all of this, so why would you steal someone else’s money?"

"Mom, I didn’t steal it, I just borrowed it, I really didn’t steal it," Zhenzhen said, covering her slapped face, her eyes reddening, thinking about the perfume she longed for but still hasn’t bought, she felt even more aggrieved.

"You still dare to argue," Mrs. Xu burst out, blood boiling with anger, almost ready to lash out again.

Liu Li hastily intervened, "Enough, sister, if you hit her anymore, Zhenzhen won’t be able to show her face to anyone. Zhenzhen, if you’re short of money, just tell your little aunt, you can’t take your classmates’ money anymore."

As she spoke, Liu Li took out five yuan and gave it to Zhenzhen, "Zhenzhen, you must not do this again."

"Lili, you shouldn’t spoil Zhenzhen like this," Mrs. Xu, discontented, entered the house, and when Zhenzhen came in, she started nagging, "Lili, you should find someone to marry too. After all, for a woman, this isn’t good staying like this forever."
