Rebirth in 1986: Unforgettable Regrets
Chapter 369: Madwoman
CHAPTER 369: CHAPTER 369: MADWOMAN
Earning US$ 500 a day, wouldn’t that make it US$ 5,000 in ten days?
Bai Qing couldn’t help but swallow, as she normally lived by the edge of the knife, earning lots of money but at the cost of risking her life.
But now, all she had to do was invest US$ 1,000 and the next day it would turn into US$ 1,500?
Bai Qing happily invested another US$ 5,000.
Motorcade.
Tang Yue was naturally unaware of Bai Qing’s joy after earning the money. She thought about checking in when she had time, as the stock she had chosen was one that performed exceptionally well in the future.
Therefore, Tang Yue believed that even if she didn’t make money, she definitely wouldn’t lose any.
Inside the family housing, Tang Yue took all the duvet covers off and threw them into the washing machine, and then began cleaning and tidying up the house.
Although a two-bedroom apartment wasn’t large, actually getting down to clean was quite a troublesome task.
Inside the wardrobe, Mo Siyu’s clothes were neatly arranged, which saved Tang Yue quite a bit of trouble.
The sun was just right when Tang Yue, with the freshly-laundered bedding, ran into many wives from the residential compound while hanging things out to dry. They greeted her warmly, and upon seeing how well she had rung out her bedding, someone asked if they could spin it to remove the water, so it could dry faster.
Tang Yue was very straightforward and didn’t refuse; soon, four or five wives expressed their desire to do the same.
Tang Yue didn’t refuse; these wives were all very friendly, and their men were good friends with Mo Siyu. It was a simple task and naturally, Tang Yue wasn’t foolish enough to offend others by refusing.
At lunchtime, Jiang Lan also came over and eagerly pulled Tang Yue to her house for lunch.
Tang Yue couldn’t say no, so she brought with her a pound of meat, and chestnuts and fragrant pears to the Jiang family.
Originally, these were supposed to be for lunch, and she planned to wait for Mo Siyu to come back before eating the chestnuts and pears, as the pears wouldn’t spoil if left for a few days.
When she left the motorcade in the afternoon, she hadn’t even gotten into a car when a woman pounced towards Tang Yue.
Tang Yue quickly sidestepped to the side.
"It’s all because of you, a scourge on people."
"Did you conspire with Mo Siyu to harm my father?"
"It must be you, I must avenge my father."
Liu Ying was wearing a striped dress, her hair casually tied, not nearly as polished as before, and her face was devoid of makeup. Compared to the last time Tang Yue saw her, Liu Ying looked much more haggard.
"Liu Ying, have you lost your mind?" Tang Yue said while retreating further inside, sensing that something was off about Liu Ying’s current state.
Had something happened to her father?
But what did her father’s situation have to do with her?
Tang Yue’s mind couldn’t quite process the situation, but seeing Liu Ying’s madness made her instinctively sense danger.
"If it hadn’t been for you, I would have married Mo Siyu, and my father wouldn’t have been in trouble. It’s all your fault," Liu Ying blamed Tang Yue for everything.
"Crazy," Tang Yue muttered to herself, unwilling to argue with a madwoman. She turned and headed towards the motorcade. Fortunately, she had not gone far when she saw the gate of the motorcade open and a military vehicle driving out.
"Stop right there." Liu Ying was a doctor, but when it came to physical fitness, she was no match for Tang Yue.
If it wasn’t for Tang Yue’s previous short-term training with Zhu Yuanchao and her own jogging, she might have already been caught by Liu Ying.
Even so, Liu Ying was running madly and was about to catch up with Tang Yue. In desperation, Tang Yue mustered the fastest speed she had ever run and, seeing Liu Ying closing in, bit her lip and rolled onto the grass beside her.
Just during this roll, someone jumped off the truck.
Xue Le.
It was Xue Le, the very warm-hearted young man who cooked in the kitchen.
Seeing Xue Le intercepting Liu Ying, Tang Yue couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief. Being caught by Liu Ying would have been more than just a simple fall.
She rubbed the hand that was sore from the fall and stood up. As she walked over, she could only hear the noisy commotion from Liu Ying.
It seemed that the convoy had also heard the commotion, and she saw Qin Anhao quickly walk over and then took Liu Ying away.
Tang Yue was baffled, completely unaware of what had happened.
She went home and rubbed medicinal wine on the bruised areas, wincing in pain—today was really not her day.
"Xiao Yue," Bai Qing excitedly returned home.
Tang Yue quickly pulled down her clothes, fearing being noticed by Bai Qing.
As Bai Qing entered the house, before she could even speak, she smelled the strong scent of medicinal wine. She asked, "Xiao Yue, are you injured?"
"It’s nothing. I just had a fall," Tang Yue had just finished speaking when Bai Qing lifted her clothes, revealing a large bruise on her hand.
"That... My skin just doesn’t take falls very well," Tang Yue explained.
Bai Qing silently took out the medicinal wine and began rubbing it on Tang Yue, saying, "Xiao Yue, did this happen in the convoy, or outside? Do you think you can keep it a secret?"
Tang Yue immediately realized something. She had intended to keep it to herself but had forgotten that outside the convoy, Qin Anhao probably would mention it to Mo Siyu, wouldn’t he?
Couldn’t her fall then also not be kept a secret?
Tang Yue thought it over and simply said, "I ran into a crazy woman."
Bai Qing looked at her deeply, then changed the subject, "Right, Xiao Yue, I went to check on the stocks today. We earned US$ 500, and I invested another US$ 5,000 into it."
Bai Qing said with glee, "I also found out clearly that we can only check from Monday to Friday. Saturday and Sunday they seem to close. It was just our luck that they were also working on the weekend this time."
"Is that so? It’s growing pretty fast." Tang Yue silently pondered if she should invest some more of her own money.
Later in the evening, Bai Qing had to step out for something.
Tang Yue thought she would have to eat alone and was about to make herself some simple noodles, when she saw Qin Anyu return with a big meal, and Qin Anhao was with her too.
"Xiao Yue, did you get hurt from a fall?" Qin Anyu put down the big meal and immediately started checking on Tang Yue.
After hearing about today’s incident, Qin Anyu and Qin Anhao came over together.
After a while, seeing the bruised spot from the fall, Qin Anyu cursed Liu Ying furiously.
Once out of the living room, Qin Anhao explained, "Tang Yue, today’s incident was an accident. Liu Ying’s father got into trouble; he was reported to the authorities and is now a prisoner. Liu Ying came today to look for someone, but accidentally ran into you."
"Could it be Mo Siyu’s doing?" A thought flashed through Tang Yue’s mind. If it wasn’t related to Mo Siyu, Liu Ying wouldn’t have been so agitated upon seeing her.
