CHAPTER 396: CHAPTER 396: BEING ENGAGED DOESN’T MEAN YOU CAN DO BAD THINGS (PART 2)
Director Ding and Designer Feng also stayed in the east room, while Tang Mingli occupied the master bedroom in the west with Wei Jiajia.
Tired from a day’s activities, Wei Jiajia nestled in Tang Mingli’s arms, sharing her experiences from their visit to Jing City.
Tang Mingli embraced her and said, "Jiajia, when we settle in Jing City, we will also have a house of our own."
"Mhm," Wei Jiajia lifted her head, her eyes brimming with immense trust in Tang Mingli.
The next day, Tang Mingli took Director Ding and Designer Feng to see the plot of land they bought. They left early in the morning since it was far away.
Being unfamiliar with the area, Wei Jiajia took Tang You’an to Tang Yue’s place.
Tang Yue had classes in the afternoon and was home in the morning. While Tang Yue was busy, Wei Jiajia didn’t interfere; she just sat on the side, playing around with Tang You’an. Bai Qing also liked Tang You’an very much and took them out for a stroll.
Before heading out in the afternoon, Tang Yue repeated reminders and instructions for Wei Jiajia to stay at home and not go out. Even though the neighborhood was quite safe, Wei Jiajia being alone with the child still caused concern.
"Xiao Yue, go to your class. Anan will take a nap in the afternoon, and I will just tidy up the house, so I won’t feel bored," Wei Jiajia said with a smile, seeing that she was still worried. "Xiao Yue, I used to travel all over the place, running around outside quite often. I know how to be safe."
Thinking about it, Tang Yue felt reassured.
Tang Mingli and his group of three returned home almost at dusk. At dinner, they kept discussing the land plot, and Tang Yue, not understanding much, just watched Designer Feng roughly plan what each section of the land would be used for, appreciating that the designer had great ideas.
For several days, they made daily trips to the plot.
Tang Yue and Bai Qing went to the stock company every day, bringing along both the elderly and the young.
Wei Jiajia had heard that Tang Mingli once speculated in stocks and made money, but he stopped because he moved away. Now, seeing Tang Yue speculating, Wei Jiajia was also tempted. She had her own savings from when she married, and Tang Mingli had been very generous to her since. Wei Jiajia’s cochina — though never hidden and always just kept aside for when needed—was quite substantial.
But watching Tang Yue and Bai Qing speculating made Wei Jiajia decide to invest US$ 1,000 to try it out.
In a blink of an eye, the weekend arrived, and Tang Mingli and his team finally took a break. Now, they needed to confirm the final blueprint with the designer before they could start construction.
Now, they had hired workers to build the perimeter walls, but the interior planning was yet to be finalized.
They planned to build the main factory first and the rest later.
"Xiao Yue, why hasn’t Mo Siyu come?" Tang Mingli looked at Tang Yue, noticing Mo Siyu’s absence on the weekend.
"Cough." Tang Yue cleared her throat and said, "Uncle, he doesn’t have that much time off."
"Usually, do you visit him at the fleet?" Tang Mingli asked.
"Yeah." Tang Yue nodded shyly.
"Don’t be shy. You and Si Yu are engaged; it’s normal for you to visit him at the fleet," Tang Mingli comforted her, encouraging her to call Mo Siyu.
Before the call was made, Mo Siyu’s call came through.
Tang Yue hadn’t come for the weekend. Once Mo Siyu was free, he naturally called Tang Yue. Hearing Tang Mingli answer, Mo Siyu understood why Tang Yue hadn’t come and told Tang Mingli a lot over the phone. When he heard that Tang planned to settle in Jing City, he was even happier.
After hanging up, Mo Siyu fell silent. Having worked at the fleet for many years and gradually moved up to management, earning more than US$ 1,000 a month, and sometimes a year-end bonus of tens of thousands, Mo Siyu had been quite satisfied. But gradually, seeing Tang Yue’s business thriving, Mo Siyu felt that relying solely on the fleet seemed somewhat insufficient.
After all, he couldn’t possibly be earning less than his wife in the future.
Although the convoy business was thriving, in the end, it was still working for someone else.
Mo Siyu gazed at the familiar office, feeling that it was time to make a decision.
On a weekend afternoon, Mo Siyu, having half a day off, came early and upon seeing Tang Yue, whom he hadn’t seen for a long time, his eyes seemed stuck on her.
Tang Mingli couldn’t stand it anymore and pulled Mo Siyu aside. The two of them were classmates and now relatives, which brought them even closer.
"Mingli, managing as you do, aren’t you afraid your subordinates will see you like this?" Tang Mingli joked.
Mo Siyu glanced at him and said, "I heard Qi Yufei is looking everywhere for you."
Tang Mingli’s face changed, and he hurriedly said, "Si Yu, please don’t. I was just talking casually."
Before the New Year, I accidentally met Qi Yufei. The once goddess has changed a lot. Indeed, Tang Mingli didn’t recognize her at first. The former Qi Yufei was proud like a peacock, beautiful and stunning.
But the current Qi Yufei was skinny, with lifeless eyes, completely a different person from before.
Qi Yufei kept crying about her hardships after the divorce, longing for the days she spent with Tang Mingli. Tang Mingli flatly refused, saying, "Qi Yufei, what’s in the past is in the past. Now, I have a wife and son, and I am very happy."
Watching Qi Yufei, now in a desolate state, Tang Mingli still couldn’t bear it and left her US$ 500, which would be enough for an ordinary household for half a year.
This could be considered the last thing Tang Mingli did for Qi Yufei.
Afterward, Tang Mingli intentionally avoided Qi Yufei, never meeting her, no matter the occasion, something Wei Jiajia still didn’t know about.
Firstly, Qi Yufei had a special status as they had once been close.
Secondly, he was very happy now and didn’t want to get involved with any other woman.
Thirdly, he wanted to keep Wei Jiajia happy, so he didn’t plan on discussing such upsetting matters with her.
In the night, the two men sat together drinking, it had been a long time since they were together, and naturally, they wouldn’t stop until they were drunk.
Both of them didn’t know how much they had drunk, Mo Siyu was slightly tipsy, his cheeks flushed, his deep eyes also tinged with hints of intoxication.
"Xiao Yue." Mo Siyu, using the excuse of going to the bathroom, pulled Tang Yue into the room and held her tightly, showing his longing through his actions, having not seen her for half a month.
Mo Siyu smelled of alcohol, even his breath carried the scent of spirits, which Tang Yue thought she would dislike. However, the scent of the spirit continued to invade her nostrils, fragrant and intoxicating.
She was clearly not drunk, yet she felt somewhat inebriated.
"Xiao Yue, let’s get our marriage certificate on August 3rd," Mo Siyu declared assertively, "I’ve waited until you turned twenty, let’s get it then."
Mo Siyu’s eager demeanor seemed as if he was afraid Tang Yue might run away.
Tang Yue didn’t answer but leaned in and gently kissed him, not having a chance to speak when she heard Tang Mingli’s voice.
"Mo Siyu," Tang Mingli called his full name, staggering in.
Tang Yue’s face flushed, and she quickly pushed Mo Siyu away.
"Mo Siyu, let me tell you, even if you are engaged, you aren’t married yet, don’t do anything improper," Tang Mingli, perhaps drunk, spoke more directly than usual.
