CHAPTER 402: CHAPTER 402: A PHOTOGRAPH (PART 2)
Tang Yue’s eyes lit up immediately when she heard about this modern romance film, which would later be regarded as a classic romance. She heard that even those who played supporting roles in it became wildly popular.
The period drama was not bad either, but with this romance film as an option, the choice was definitely the latter.
"Minmin, I think you should choose the romance film," Tang Yue suggested.
Zhang Minmin’s beautiful eyes spun around, and she immediately made a call to confirm her decision – opting for the romance film in no time.
Tang Yue widened her apricot-shaped eyes and asked, "Minmin, are you just going to take my advice without fearing that I might lead you astray?"
"Not afraid," Zhang Minmin cheerfully wrapped her arm around Tang Yue and said: "I also prefer this romance film, and besides, I get to play the protagonist’s good friend. Even though she’s just one of the friends, it’s still a good role. I didn’t quite like playing a villain in the period drama."
"Xiao Yue, Tingyu, you guys really are my lucky stars," Zhang Minmin said with a bright smile on her face. Even though she no longer lived as carefree and worry-free about money and clothes as she did in the past, the happiness radiating from her now was something she’d never shown before.
The previous Zhang Minmin had nothing to do all day, didn’t especially like studying, and the only thing she enjoyed doing was dressing up beautifully. Although she looked pretty, something was lacking.
Now Zhang Tingyu understood that what Zhang Minmin lacked was a dream, a goal.
Chasing her dreams, Zhang Minmin now seemed more charming, and her eyes sparkled with excitement whenever she talked about acting.
At noon, the three friends went out for hotpot, reminiscent of their high school days.
Back in high school, the trio would often gather together, especially in winter when hotpot was the perfect complement. They had visited that hotpot restaurant in Wangjiang County countless times.
"I hear that the hotpot in Qing City is really delicious," Zhang Minmin said with longing. "We should take a trip to Qing City at some point. Their hotpot is so rich and tasty."
"Sure," Tang Yue immediately agreed with a nod. She also knew Qing City was famous for its hotpot.
After eating hotpot, the three went shopping together in the afternoon, wandering through the streets and alleys of Jing City, particularly the food street, which filled their bellies to the brim. By dinner time, none of them could eat another bite.
"Ah, today’s meal was just too delightful," Zhang Minmin patted her rounded belly, and although she was full right now, she had taken lots of tasty food home – assuredly she’d be able to eat it once home.
"This one’s mine, don’t you dare snatch it," Zhang Minmin guarded her own snacks protectively.
Tang Yue and Zhang Tingyu rolled their eyes at her and said, "Then you won’t get any of our tasty treats later."
"Uh..." Zhang Minmin realized that Zhang Tingyu and Tang Yue had brought back even more food than she had; she had picked only a few items, while they had chosen a dozen or more.
"Are you guys..." Zhang Minmin looked shocked and then switched to a different tone, "Eating so much tonight, are you trying to turn into spheres?"
"Who says?" Tang Yue straightened her posture; her figure was even a bit more proportionate than Zhang Minmin’s.
Zhang Tingyu’s figure was no exception, nearly similar to Tang Yue’s.
Zhang Minmin pursed her lips and said, "But I’m clearly the smallest of us all."
They always bullied her, both of them.
Returning home, Zhang Minmin realized that there were two more people, one was Bai Qing, and the other Qin Anyu. Zhang Minmin couldn’t help but exclaim, "Indeed, like attracts like, you guys standing together would form a beautiful scene."
During her acting career, Zhang Minmin thought she had seen many beauties, yet when they stood before these women, it seemed something was missing.
Zhang Tingyu was gentle and amiable, Tang Yue elegant and noble, with an exceptional presence, Qin Anyu was like the friendly girl next door, and Bai Qing was the cool beauty, who, though could laugh and joke, sometimes just one look from her could induce palpitations.
The room was filled with bursts of laughter.
At night, Zhang Tingyu and Zhang Minmin slept together. They weren’t close cousins in childhood, but their relationship had grown closer over time because of Tang Yue. Zhang Tingyu handed over a prepared card and said, "Minmin, this ten thousand yuan isn’t much, but since you’re alone outside and you don’t contact your aunt and uncle, you should keep this money for emergencies."
"Tingyu," Zhang Minmin looked at the money, and without losing face, took it, saying, "Thank you."
"I’m your sister, what’s there to thank?" Zhang Tingyu encouraged her, "Minmin, everyone has the right to pursue their dreams. I wanted to become a lawyer just like you want to be an actor, so let’s both work hard together."
"I will work hard." Zhang Minmin’s eyes reddened, and she couldn’t help but hug Zhang Tingyu. How much hardship she had endured over the past six months, perhaps only she knew. After coming to Jing City, Zhang Tingyu and Tang Yue had been accompanying her, speaking many inspirational words intentionally or not, and she knew they were silently encouraging her.
"By the way, if you give me all your money, what will you have left?" Zhang Minmin asked.
Zhang Tingyu laughed lightly and said, "Xiao Yue and I made some money from stocks; this is all earned by me."
"Wow," Zhang Minmin looked envious and secretly decided that once she made money, she would let Xiao Yue help her grow it too.
Zhang Minmin stayed here for two days before departing for Su City, and also scheduled a time to film a commercial with Tang Mingli.
Tang Yue also entered into a mode of concentrated work; she was designing a series of professional attire.
That day, the weather was fine and sunny, Jing City still very cold, but under the sunshine, it was warm and comfortable. A postal worker knocked on Tang Yue’s door.
It was an unsigned letter.
"Strange." Tang Yue held the letter, which had no sender’s information, only her name and address.
"Be careful." Bai Qing took the letter, scrutinizing it closely, and after smelling to confirm there was no poison or the like, she tore it open. The letter was empty, containing only a photograph.
Bai Qing’s pupils contracted, instantly planning to hide the letter, but Tang Yue had already caught a glimpse, and she exclaimed in surprise, "Isn’t this Mo Siyu?"
"Xiao Yue, it might have been sent to the wrong person," said Bai Qing without changing her expression.
Tang Yue didn’t believe it and reached out, "Give me the photo, let me see."
Bai Qing stared at Tang Yue, took a deep breath, and said, "Xiao Yue, don’t get angry after you see it."
"Why would I be angry?" With that, Tang Yue took the photo handed by Bai Qing. The photo was somewhat dark, it was clear that it was taken at night, and there was lighting, which made it look like it could be a disco or KTV. Mo Siyu was only partially visible from the side.
