CHAPTER 443: CHAPTER 443: DID YOU GO ROB... SOMETHING? (PART 2)

Lian Qingyang thought for a moment and said, "Actually, I can ask Mrs. Hu to take care of me."

Lian Qingyang had been staying in the hospital for a few days and had been deceiving Mrs. Hu that he was resting at his workplace all this time. It would be better to tell her the truth since Mrs. Hu was his caregiver anyway. Now that Tang Yue was busy, having Mrs. Hu take care of him would also put Tang Yue at ease.

In the morning, after receiving the message, Mrs. Hu immediately came to the hospital and saw Lian Qingyang’s foot in a cast, her eyes reddening instantly.

"Young Master, how did your leg get so badly injured?" Mrs. Hu spoke with a choked voice.

Mrs. Hu knew something was wrong when Lian Qingyang hadn’t come home for a few days. Even if he was working, he couldn’t possibly stay away from home for several days. And today, upon arrival, seeing Lian Qingyang all battered, Mrs. Hu’s heart ached on the spot.

She had been taking care of him since he was a child, and now that he had grown up, she saw him as her own child.

"Mrs. Hu, you mustn’t tell my mom. The reason I asked you to come is that I was afraid you might slip up." Lian Qingyang was fairly optimistic and said, "I just accidentally fell into a ravine on Yan Mountain, which led to hitting my head."

There was some truth and some lies in his words.

"What about your eye, then?" Mrs. Hu, sharp-eyed, pointed at Lian Qingyang’s eye, which anyone with clear eyes could see had been bruised from a fight, although the swelling had gone down, the bruised appearance was still there.

Lian Qingyang smiled bitterly and said, "Mrs. Hu, don’t you know me? I got into a fight with someone."

"By the way, Mrs. Hu, this is Sister Xiao Yue, she’s my dad’s daughter," Lian Qingyang introduced her, and added, "Mrs. Hu, you don’t know, these past few days, it’s been Sister Xiao Yue taking care of me in the hospital."

"Mr. Lian’s daughter?" Mrs. Hu widened her eyes looking at Lian Qingyang, wondering how Mr. Lian could have a daughter other than his twin daughters, Lian Qingqing and Lian Qingyang.

"Hello, Mrs. Hu, my name is Tang Yue," Tang Yue introduced herself and changed the subject, saying, "From now on, Qingyang’s injuries will be under Mrs. Hu’s care."

"No need for thanks. Taking care of the Young Master is what I should be doing," said Mrs. Hu, without inquiring further into Tang Yue’s identity.

Tang Yue asked, "Qingyang, are you really okay?"

"Sister Xiao Yue, please go. I’ll just be applying medication here in the hospital, what could possibly happen? You don’t need to come tonight either, save yourself the trip," Lian Qingyang instructed her.

Xingyao Clothing and Mingyue Clothing both required drafts, and although they could be done at the hospital, it pained Lian Qingyang to see Tang Yue doing so.

There wasn’t a proper table here nor a comfortable sitting area, so Lian Qingyang reluctantly called for Mrs. Hu because he couldn’t bear to have Tang Yue stay in the hospital.

"Okay," Tang Yue replied, and as she was packing up she asked, "What would you like to eat tonight? Should I cook for you?"

"Didn’t I say not to come in the evening?" Lian Qingyang glared at Tang Yue.

But Tang Yue insisted, asking, "Bone soup or crucian carp soup?"

"Bone soup," Lian Qingyang sweetly replied, and then said, "You should ask Bai Qing to come with you, it’s not safe to come alone."

"I know," said Tang Yue with a chuckle, reminding Mrs. Hu of many things before she left.

As soon as Tang Yue left, Lian Qingyang put away his smile and said solemnly, "Mrs. Hu, you must keep my injury a secret for me."

"Young Master, if the Madam finds out about this injury..." Mrs. Hu hesitated.

When she came, the Madam had repeatedly instructed her to take good care of the Young Master.

With the Young Master in such a state and still needing to keep it from the Madam, Mrs. Hu felt it quite inappropriate.

"Mrs. Hu, if my mom finds out about this injury, she’ll flip out again. Besides, the doctor said that with half a month’s rest, my leg will be fine," Lian Qingyang said indifferently. "Mrs. Hu, my mom is about to fly overseas to see Lian Qingqing soon. If you tell her, then you’ll be the sinner."

Mrs. Hu agreed but thought to herself that strangely enough, he keeps calling his own sister ’Lian Qingqing,’ while referring to Tang Yue as ’Sister Xiao Yue.’ Anyone who doesn’t know better would think Tang Yue is his real sister.

However, that girl Tang Yue is pretty, not like Lian Qingqing who has her eyes on top of her head.

Muttering to herself, Mrs. Hu naturally guessed about Lian He’s private matters, but of course, she would not probe to the bottom of it.

In the evening, Tang Yue came over with some tasty food. Mrs. Hu had intended to stay and take care of him, but was sent away by Lian Qingyang, who kept emphasizing it, afraid that Mrs. Hu would let slip.

"Qingyang, are you really not going to tell your mom about this?" Tang Yue asked.

Xiang Yazhi, I may not like her, but she is still Lian Qingyang’s mother after all.

With Lian Qingyang injured like this, if Xiang Yazhi knew, wouldn’t she be heartbroken?

"No way," Lian Qingyang shook his head vehemently. "Not even if I die. If I tell her, we’ll just end up arguing until I get a headache. It’d be awful if my head got woozy before my leg even heals."

Lian Qingyang knew his own mother’s temperament all too well.

Tang Yue didn’t say much more, taking out the big bone soup she had brought. The aroma of the soup wafted out with the steam, and Lian Qingyang took a deep breath and exclaimed, "That smells great."

He hadn’t felt hungry just before, but now the smell of the soup had made him very hungry.

Bai Qing walked in with a black bag, sitting to the side. Seeing Tang Yue carefully feeding him, Bai Qing didn’t say anything and munched on snacks.

Lian Qingyang said, "Bai Qing, you just had dinner and now you’re eating snacks again. Aren’t you afraid of getting as fat as a pig?"

Bai Qing shot back with a cold jab, "Lian Qingyang, I wouldn’t mind seeing your other leg in a cast too."

"That would be great. Then you’d take care of me," Lian Qingyang was not scared at all. After being around each other for some time, he had a good read on Bai Qing’s personality.

Bai Qing ate the chocolate seriously, bantering with Lian Qingyang now and then.

Until the meal was over, the banter between Lian Qingyang and Bai Qing never ceased, and Tang Yue suddenly realized that whenever the two of them were together, they would always bicker non-stop, almost like they were a comically feuding pair.

Bai Qing said unhappily, "Who says we’re a feuding pair?"

"More like arch-enemies," Lian Qingyang added.

Tang Yue chuckled and didn’t say much. She asked, "Sister Qing, what are you doing with that parcel you were carrying so secretively when you left?"

"Money," Bai Qing said, placing the bag onto the hospital bed.

When Bai Qing left, she did mention it, but Tang Yue didn’t take it seriously. A backpack that size full of money—how much could it hold?

Tang Yue hadn’t really believed it.

Not until Bai Qing opened the backpack to reveal bundles of big red banknotes in front of her, did Tang Yue’s eyes nearly dazzle from the sight of all the cash.

"Did you rob a bank?" Lian Qingyang asked in astonishment. "That’s almost a million bucks, isn’t it?"

In this day and age, where did she get that amount of money from? And wandering around with it all over the hospital at that?
