Rebirth in 1986: Unforgettable Regrets
Chapter 751: A Very Serious Question
CHAPTER 751: CHAPTER 751: A VERY SERIOUS QUESTION
"Wife, why did you suddenly think of this?" Meng Si Yu looked at her fixedly. He was aware of how the Tang Family used to live and, because of this clarity, found Tang Yue’s ideas...incredible.
Some people who have suffered since childhood understand the importance of money even more, and there are even a few who, even if they become wealthy, would find it as difficult as losing their life to give some money to help others.
"When I had appendicitis in senior high, mom and dad went everywhere to borrow money. If there weren’t kind people willing to lend it, I don’t know if I could have survived." Tang Yue spoke earnestly, "Now that I have the ability, I want to offer whatever little help I can."
"Si Yu, once the clothing company grows even bigger, we’ll be able to donate more money to do good deeds." Tang Yue’s bright eyes blinked happily as she said, "The Ming Yue franchise has already opened over a hundred stores. The factory’s sales are more than we can supply; we’re not worried about not having orders."
"Peng Yufei, Xin Jia and Sun Qing, they can each hold their own now." Tang Yue praised them, "Ever since they went to Country F, the clothes they’ve designed are really good, very creative. Each of the three has a distinct style, but together, they are fantastic. And Designer Guan, the children’s and maternity wear he creates are really good. After the New Year, we can increase our investment."
When Tang Yue talked about business matters, her eyes seemed to sparkle with light, containing stardust in their gleam. Her words were all light-hearted and joyful, "Over at Star Bright, since partnering with Kaya, we’ve gained a little bit of fame abroad too. It will certainly get better and better in the future."
"The most, most, most important part, do you know where it is?" Tang Yue playfully blinked her eyes, purposely making Meng Si Yu guess.
Meng Si Yu thought for a moment and said, "Jinyang Building?"
"Right." Tang Yue nodded vigorously and said, "The place where we opened Red Bean Restaurant, that building, just from the rent alone, we could sit at home and be little tycoons in the future."
Jinyang Street, that’s a bustling street. In the future, the rent of the shops there will skyrocket. Even if we only take thirty percent of it, it would be a substantial amount.
"My little money-grubber."
Meng Si Yu gently pinched her nose.
His hands carried the scent of almonds, she frowned unhappily and said, "I’ve taken a bath, you’ve dirtied my nose, you need to clean it for me."
"Alright."
Meng Si Yu scooped her up horizontally and headed for the bathroom.
"Husband is really good." Tang Yue was feeling happy, oblivious to the fire in Meng Si Yu’s eyes.
But that happiness didn’t last long.
Meng Si Yu not only washed her nose, her face, but he also devoured her completely.
Meng Si Yu’s so-called punishment was to use up all the strength he had not exerted before, right at that moment.
When she awoke again, Tang Yue was awakened by hunger. She glanced at her watch – it was five o’clock.
Five in the afternoon?
Tang Yue looked at Meng Si Yu with a bewildered face, hugged a pillow, and squished it, wishing she could turn the pillow into Meng Si Yu.
Tang Yue lazily got up to prepare some food when Meng Si Yu brought back some baked buns from outside.
"You must be hungry, right? I bought some sesame cakes today; how about we eat them for dinner?" Meng Siyu held out the steaming sesame cakes and said, "Look, there’s meat filling inside these cakes. I’ve had them several times before, and they’re really tasty—both crunchy and fragrant."
"Hmph." Tang Yue pouted, ignoring him.
"Wife, I also bought soy milk, freshly made and very fragrant." Meng Siyu knew that he had overdone it yesterday, so he purposefully came back early today with some delicious food, intending to apologize.
The aroma of the sesame cakes was irresistible, and even the scent of the soy milk kept wafting into her nose.
"Wife, for my sake, I went out of the way to buy these sesame cakes. Please give me a break." Meng Siyu coaxed Tang Yue. He usually seemed cold when he wasn’t smiling, but now he was acting all careful and pleasing, which made Tang Yue lose any anger she had towards him.
She turned around, her eyes fell on the sesame cakes. The baked cakes smelled extremely appetizing, tempting her taste buds. She couldn’t help but swallow her saliva, took the sesame cake, bowed her head, and began to eat.
The shell of the sesame cake was crispy, and the meat filling inside was fragrant. One bite would make you almost want to gulp down your tongue.
"How is it, tasty, right?" Meng Siyu asked her eagerly for approval.
Tang Yue kept her head down, refusing to look at him, but her pace of munching on the sesame cake quickened.
Meng Siyu chuckled softly and handed her a tissue to wipe off the grease that had escaped to the corners of her mouth, saying, "Eat slowly; I bought quite a few, no one’s competing with you."
"It’s still your fault." Tang Yue mumbled with her mouth full. She had planned to visit Grandma Gu today, and she wouldn’t have woken up this evening like she did if it weren’t for Meng Siyu.
"Yes, it’s all my fault." Meng Siyu pretended to be pitiful, squatting in front of Tang Yue and said, "Drink some soy milk, don’t choke."
Tang Yue slowly swallowed the sesame cake in her mouth, then took a few sips of soy milk, finally able to speak properly. She said, "How come you have time to come here every day? And so early."
Meng Siyu seemed eager for praise and said, "Wife, you’re alone in Jin City without anyone you know. I already feel very guilty for not being able to accompany you during the day. How can I be at ease if you’re alone at night?"
Tang Yue: ...
If he lived here every day, would she have the energy to do anything else?
"Si Yu, actually, you really don’t have to stay with me, I..." Before Tang Yue could finish speaking, Meng Siyu interrupted her, "Wife, I’ve arranged everything, there won’t be any problems at the company. Are you full? Would you like some more dumplings?"
Meng Siyu asked enthusiastically, thinking about the days ahead; being able to hold his wife in his arms every night filled him with so much joy that he felt buoyant when walking.
"I’m full." Tang Yue held her soy milk, taking sips. She stepped back to create some distance between them and said, "We need to set some ground rules; we can’t allow you to continue this way. If it goes on like this, I’ll be eating and sleeping all the time—I’ll turn into a fat pig."
"Getting a bit fat is good." Meng Siyu’s hand landed on her waistline, which was very slender—as if he could almost wrap a single hand around it.
"Hmph."
Tang Yue glared at him; she had no intention of getting fat. She was happy just as she was. She put down her cup and suddenly remembered a very serious issue.
"What’s wrong?" Meng Siyu got alarmed by Tang Yue’s serious and sober expression.
