Chapter 449 Secretary Meng
CHAPTER 449: 449 SECRETARY MENG
"I’ll leave work two hours early this afternoon to pick up Jingyi, and have dinner at your place, alright?"
"Sure, I’ll make something delicious for you guys tonight."
"Thank you."
"No need to be so polite."
Jiang Xinyu saw the smile on Yao Shimin’s face and knew that their relationship must be quite good.
After sending off Yao Shimin, Jiang Xinyu went back to the rear to rest, as without a nap at noon, she felt she had no energy in the afternoon.
Song Qingqing was showing Meng Weihong the ropes. All three secretaries were high school graduates, but she always felt that the new secretary looked down on her a bit.
Song Qingqing was a gentle person and understood what kind of person she was, so it was fine not to work together in the future, and she wouldn’t make a fuss about it.
But Pan Xiulan was different; she had quite a fiery temper.
The three bumped into each other in the archive room. When Pan Xiulan saw Meng Weihong give Song Qingqing a disdainful look, she immediately flared up.
"Meng Weihong, what was that expression just now? Who are you looking down on?"
Song Qingqing saw Pan Xiulan standing up for her and also stood there staring at Meng Weihong. They were both waiting for her answer.
"Secretary Pan, I think you misunderstood."
Song Qingqing pulled back Pan Xiulan, who was about to speak.
"Since Meng Weihong is so capable, I guess there’s no need for me to teach her.
Secretary Pan, let’s go back. I need to tell Mr. Qian that I can report to Vice Factory Director Jiang on Monday."
"Secretary Song, you’ve misunderstood me."
"No one is a fool."
Ignoring the cries behind her, Song Qingqing knocked and entered Qian Jun’s office.
"Mr. Qian, I really can’t work with Meng Weihong anymore. She always acts superior, with a look of disdain. I’m really fed up."
"Secretary Song, it’s work."
"Mr. Qian, I know it’s work. Otherwise, I wouldn’t spend another minute with her. Just now she belittled me in front of several people. Someone couldn’t stand it and said something, yet she was all arrogance and no words. Working with someone like this makes me uncomfortable.
So please, Mr. Qian, find someone else to teach her. It’s okay if you think my work attitude isn’t good enough."
Qian Jun frowned; Song Qingqing had been with him for several years, and he was well aware of her character.
"Alright, I understand."
Watching Secretary Song leave, Qian Jun picked up the phone.
"Director Zhu, this is Qian Jun."
"Little Qian? What’s up?"
"Director Zhu, the newly assigned Meng Weihong is not suitable for this secretary job."
"Then let her go. Jiang Xinyu is not satisfied with this secretary?"
Qian Jun explained the first meeting with Meng Weihong and the conflicts between Meng Weihong and Secretary Song.
"Director Zhu, she’s really not suited for the secretary position."
"Alright, I understand. If it doesn’t work out, you can arrange the secretary yourselves. Xiao Jiang also needs harmony at work."
"Thank you, Director Zhu. I’ll let her go this afternoon."
After hanging up, Qian Jun dialed the internal line. "Vice Factory Director Jiang, Meng Weihong will be leaving. You can arrange a secretary yourself."
"Mr. Qian, how about you arrange the secretary?"
"You should find someone yourself."
"But I don’t have any candidates."
"Are you thinking of using Secretary Song?"
"That would be great, but I’m also okay with a new secretary."
"Understood, I’ll think about it."
Jiang Xinyu didn’t have high demands for a secretary. If Meng Weihong hadn’t behaved so obviously, she wouldn’t have tentatively suggested exchanging with Qian Jun. And she didn’t expect Qian Jun to agree.
Qian Jun put down the phone, pondering the choice of secretary. Gao Ruyun flashed through his mind briefly.
But he knew that if this secretary was given to Jiang Xinyu, she wouldn’t agree. If Gao Ruyun became his own secretary, it might not be appropriate.
After thinking for a while, he decided to hire a male secretary, which would be more convenient for him.
He picked up the phone again, said a few words, and asked the other side to send someone over quickly.
Putting down the phone, he stood up and went out. He saw Secretary Song and Meng Weihong both leaning over their respective desks, looking at documents.
"Meng Weihong, come in for a moment."
"Yes, Mr. Qian." Meng Weihong roughly knew what was coming, an explanation for earlier events, seeing all public areas adorned with friendly colleague slogans.
"Meng Weihong, I’ve called the Management Bureau. You don’t need to work here anymore."
"Mr. Qian? Please let me explain."
"Meng Weihong, the rest doesn’t matter. It’s just that I personally want to replace you with a male secretary for convenience."
"But where should I return to?"
"You should ask the Management Bureau. We don’t have a suitable position for you here."
Meng Weihong never thought it would be so severe. She simply couldn’t stand how Song Qingqing lacked any secretary’s airs, being so courteous to those in the archive room, hence her expressions.
For this? Does it warrant such severity?
"Mr. Qian, hear me out."
"Meng Weihong, actually you don’t need to explain. Since you joined the textile factory, everyone who’s interacted with you has evaluated you.
It’s best you go back. I’ll have the security department buy you a train ticket. If there are no trains today, you can stay in the dormitory and leave tomorrow."
This was already the biggest concession. Ordinarily, unrelated individuals aren’t allowed to stay at the unit. Just because she’s a girl.
"Mr. Qian, this way, I won’t possibly have any job in the future."
"That’s not our issue, is it?"
"Indeed, I admit my mistake. Please give me a chance."
"There’s really no suitable job for you; you’re well-educated. It’s better to wait for the Management Bureau to make arrangements."
"Really can’t give me another chance?"
"Meng Weihong, you’re not suited to be a secretary." This was Qian Jun’s most sincere counsel.
"For one mistake, no chance to correct?"
"It’s not that; it’s that you’re not suited to be a secretary. You should take the administrative path; you’re suited for leadership."
Though she remained displeased, hearing Qian Jun, Meng Weihong felt somewhat comforted.
"Alright, go rest. I’ll have someone bring you your train ticket later."
Meng Weihong exited Qian Jun’s office, watching Song Qingqing engrossed in her work, surprised she had such power, making her lose her job. But if one place doesn’t keep you, another will. Back home, it can be discussed further.
With a sarcastic snort, she left and went straight to the dormitory.
An hour later, security delivered the train ticket, "Mr. Meng, it’s three dollars and twenty cents."
Meng Weihong handed over the money, noting it was for the morning train at nine. It meant she’d stay the night. Not wanting to remain, it was too loud, making it impossible to sleep at night.
