CHAPTER 650: CHAPTER 383: CAR ACCIDENT/TURNING POINT_2
When Luo Ye and Luo Lian Jiujiu arrived, a man and woman around forty burst out of the restaurant and charged towards the car, sizing it up before turning to look at Qiao Aimin’s car. Seeing it was a Santana with a regular license plate, they contemptuously glanced at him, "XX, do you even know how to drive?"
Qiao Aimin staggered from the push and quickly said, "I’m truly sorry, I will take responsibility for the damages and call the police right now."
"You obviously have to compensate, do I even have to ask? But, once you replace parts, they’re not original anymore, and the originals are the best, don’t you know that?" the man complained relentlessly.
"That’s right, we just bought this car not long ago," the woman chimed in quickly.
Feeling guilty, Qiao Aimin asked, "Then what do you propose we do?"
The man pushed Qiao Aimin again aggressively, "What’s with that attitude of yours? You’re not young, and you’re dressed decently enough, so how can you be so bad at speaking? By the way, do you even have a driver’s license?"
"I’ll call the police and let them handle it," Qiao Aimin, who was never humiliated like this before, spoke without his initial apology.
"Fine, you make the call," said the man with a wave of his hand, "If it was that easy to get off, my last name isn’t Miao," he muttered to himself as he stepped aside to make a call.
Luo Lian muttered under her breath, "Such a scoundrel. It’s a good thing Qiao Aimin didn’t drive the second car. Otherwise, who knows what would have happened with people like this, total hooligans."
Luo Ye gently pinched her little hand with a smile, a true father-daughter connection. Even if she had not fully accepted Qiao Aimin yet, she felt uncomfortable seeing him being bullied.
In no time, a crowd of onlookers gathered, and the man became more vigorous, poking Qiao Aimin who had just hung up the phone, "Even if the police come, you still have to compensate me for my additional losses. You should understand the difference between original and imitation parts. I won’t ask for more, just an extra five thousand on top of the replacement costs."
Qiao Aimin glanced at him indifferently, "The police will handle this matter."
The man looked at him with disdain, "Let me tell you, even if the police handle it, you’re going to pay me an additional five thousand. Don’t think I didn’t hear your phone call just now. You think calling someone for help will do anything? Useless!"
A thought crossed Qiao Aimin’s mind, and he smiled, "Sounds like you have quite the connections, huh?"
The man smirked proudly, "That’s none of your business. We all play our cards as we see fit, tell me, my car was perfectly parked, what gives you the right to crash it like this?"
"Exactly!" the woman addressed the crowd, "You all judge for us, our car was parked perfectly fine, and then ’bang,’ he crashes into it." Pointing at the damaged area, she asked, "Look, what did he turn it into? Once you replace the parts, they’re not original anymore. And the paint, if you repaint it, will it be as shiny as before?
It’s just like, stabbing someone for no reason. Once the wound heals, and you’ve paid for the medical expenses, what about the suffering and the scars left behind?
If you had a reason, we might understand, but our car was just coming out, it wasn’t blocking your way at all, so why crash it like this..."
Some in the crowd began whispering. The woman, seeing this, grew even more intense, "It’s only because my husband is kind-hearted that we’re letting you get away with just paying an additional five thousand. We’ve only had this car for half a year, it cost over three hundred thousand originally. With this crash, you’ve turned it into junk, even if it gets fixed, the safety is largely compromised..."
Qiao Aimin frowned slightly and his gaze turned toward Luo Ye and Luo Lian standing on the outer edge of the crowd, giving a remorseful nod.
The woman, getting worked up, followed his gaze and upon seeing two radiant young girls, envy flashed in her eyes, "Hey, what kind of person are you? After crashing our car like this, you still have the leisure to make eyes at young girls?"
"Please show some respect," Qiao Aimin said, his tone becoming more serious.
"Oh... and how should I be respectful?" the woman sneered, glancing at him disdainfully, "Right, was it because you were watching the girls that you messed up? At your age, that’s really shameless!"
Luo Lian quickly pushed through the crowd, enunciating each word, "You, try saying that one more time."
"Does this mean you know each other?" The woman sniggered, "I get it now, could you be his mistress? That explains the googly eyes... Ah!"
The endless chatter finally stopped. Astonished, onlookers watched as Luo Lian, with a seemingly weak appearance, managed to knock down the woman, twice her strength, with one kick, probably winding her. The woman’s mouth gaped open, unable to make a sound, eyes rolling back like a dead fish.
