Chapter 184: Surgery Success
CHAPTER 184: CHAPTER 184: SURGERY SUCCESS
Mrs. Jiang also stared nervously at the door of the operating room. Looking at her, Mu Qiancheng said to Jiang Xue, "Xue’er, let’s take Mom over there to sit and wait."
There was a row of chairs on the side, specially prepared for families waiting for surgeries.
"Alright!" Jiang Xue nodded, then said to Mrs. Jiang, "Mom, Dad won’t come out of surgery so quickly. Let’s wait over there."
"Okay!" Mrs. Jiang nodded, then followed Jiang Xue and Mu Qiancheng to sit down on a chair nearby.
Although she sat down, Mrs. Jiang’s gaze still remained fixed on the door of the operating room. At this moment, her entire focus was on that door, not even noticing that Jiang Xue was leaning tightly against Mu Qiancheng.
"Xue’er, don’t worry, Dad will be fine."
"Mm!" Jiang Xue nodded, but how could she not be worried in her heart. Having lived another lifetime, she wanted to make up for all the past regrets towards her parents, to be filial to them properly.
Therefore, she didn’t want to see a situation where she wanted to care for them but they weren’t there. She hoped everything would go smoothly for Father Jiang and that she would still have time to be filial to them.
Mu Qiancheng comforted Jiang Xue for a while, but seeing her like this, there was nothing he could do. He had no choice but to hold her a little tighter and accompany her.
The waiting felt endless; they didn’t know how long they had been waiting when finally the door of the operating room slowly opened. Hearing the sound, Mrs. Jiang and Jiang Xue quickly stood up and saw the door of the operating room.
The door to the operating room opened, but it was a nurse who came out, rushing out in a hurry. Jiang Xue and Mrs. Jiang stepped forward to inquire about Father Jiang’s condition, but the nurse had already walked away, and the door to the operating room closed again.
The two returned to their seats in disappointment, but their anxiety only grew. Why would the nurse leave in the middle of the surgery? What had happened?
Their hearts couldn’t help but hang in suspense, and Mu Qiancheng didn’t know how to comfort them. He could only urge, "Mom, Xue’er, don’t worry. Dad is blessed and will be okay."
The two nodded absentmindedly, not knowing if they had taken in Mu Qiancheng’s words at all.
After a while, the nurse returned with two bags of blood and went back in. Seeing this, Jiang Xue’s heart tightened again, and Mrs. Jiang felt the same, her whole heart up in her throat.
As time slowly passed, the three of them waited another two hours. Finally, the door of the operating room opened again, and Professor Han came out.
Upon seeing Professor Han, Jiang Xue immediately went to him and asked about Father Jiang’s condition.
"Professor Han, how is my father?"
"Rest assured, the surgery was very successful. Someone will come shortly to move the patient to the ward, and there will be someone specifically to explain postoperative care instructions to you."
"I have some other matters to attend to, so I’ll be leaving now."
"Thank you, Professor Han!" Jiang Xue thanked Professor Han again and waited outside the operating room. Not too long after, Father Jiang was wheeled out, but due to the anesthesia, he hadn’t woken up yet.
Jiang Xue and Mrs. Jiang stepped forward, saw that Father Jiang was breathing steadily, and felt relieved.
The nurse helped move Father Jiang back to the ward and explained the precautions before leaving.
After the nurse left, Jiang Xue looked at Mrs. Jiang and said, "Mom, there’s a chair over there, you go rest for a while, and I’ll watch over Dad."
"I’m fine; you and Qiancheng should go rest. I’ll watch over him." Mrs. Jiang was unwilling to rest. Even though the doctor said the surgery went very well, she couldn’t relax until she saw Father Jiang wake up.
