Chapter 214 A Family Reunion
CHAPTER 214: CHAPTER 214 A FAMILY REUNION
Mu Siwu, who hadn’t had a chance to speak with his son, finally spoke up after hearing his wife’s words: "Qian Cheng, Xue’er, your mom is right. Whatever it is, let’s talk after dinner."
Saying that, he went straight into the kitchen to help bring out the dishes. Seeing this, Jiang Xue and Mu Qiancheng naturally didn’t stand idle; they went into the kitchen together and each brought out a dish.
In fact, the meal had been prepared long ago. After Bai Yuhua had Mu Siwu take Father Jiang’s meal over, she waited at home for him to return so they could eat together.
Unexpectedly, their son came back. So, she specially added a few dishes and went to buy a few more buns, fearing her cooking might not be enough and that her son would go hungry.
Once the meal was set, the family sat down to eat. Little Reunion was still asleep, allowing everyone to enjoy a good meal without having to juggle holding him and eating at the same time.
After dinner, Jiang Xue went to wash the dishes, while Mu Qiancheng sat in the living room chatting with his parents.
After washing the dishes, seeing that Mu Qiancheng was still talking with his in-laws, Jiang Xue smiled and returned to their room to see their son. As she entered the room, Little Reunion’s small eyes were darting around, clearly having been awake for some time.
Now, as Little Reunion had grown, he wasn’t like before; he wouldn’t cry as soon as he woke up. After waking, he would play by himself for a while until, after a long time with no one coming in or paying attention, he would start to cry.
Jiang Xue picked up Little Reunion, felt his diaper slightly damp, and realized he had peed, so she swiftly changed his diaper before carrying him out, ready to prepare some solid food for him.
Lately, Little Reunion’s solid food consisted of rice porridge or some fruit juice. However, he preferred rice porridge, so Bai Yuhua cooked it for him every day.
Those talking in the living room saw Jiang Xue bring Little Reunion out and knew he was hungry. Bai Yuhua got up and went to the kitchen to bring out the rice porridge that was warming on the stove.
Watching Jiang Xue holding the baby while feeding him, Mu Qiancheng said, "Xue’er, let me hold him."
Jiang Xue did not hesitate and directly handed the baby to Mu Qiancheng, while she focused on feeding their son.
Although Mu Qiancheng was a bit awkward, Little Reunion quite enjoyed being in his dad’s arms, giving him a big, gratifying smile.
Seeing his son smile at him, Mu Qiancheng was overjoyed and said to Jiang Xue, "Xue’er, our son smiled at me."
Hearing Mu Qiancheng’s silly words, the three people at home all laughed and said, "That means Little Reunion likes you."
"Really? Does he smile at everyone he likes?" Mu Qiancheng was curious, as he never took care of a baby before and didn’t know a child’s way of expressing affection.
"Of course, haven’t you noticed how smart Little Reunion is, even at such a young age?" Mu Siwu spoke proudly about his grandson.
Even though Little Reunion was small, every time they spoke, he seemed to understand. Sometimes, he would make little gestures that delighted them no end.
"Dad, you know whose son he is," Mu Qiancheng boasted, causing Jiang Xue to burst into laughter.
She never knew that Mu Qiancheng could be so vain.
"Xue’er, what’s so funny? What I’m saying is true. Little Reunion is our child, how could he not be smart?"
"Nothing, you’re right," Jiang Xue smiled and then continued feeding their son.
After drinking half a bowl of rice porridge, Little Reunion stopped eating, constantly looking at Mu Qiancheng with a smile. He waved his little hands from time to time, utterly adorable.
