Chapter 304: Qian Cheng’s Late Return
CHAPTER 304: CHAPTER 304: QIAN CHENG’S LATE RETURN
Jiang Xue’s face changed slightly upon hearing this. She quickly slipped out of the space while holding Little Reunion. After placing Little Reunion on the bed, she quietly left the room to see what was happening outside.
Jiang Xue quietly headed toward the living room and saw a shadow entering through the front door, causing her face to change slightly.
Could it be a thief?
As Jiang Xue thought about this, she looked for something handy to use as a weapon. However, just as she was searching for tools, the living room light suddenly turned on.
When the light came on, the figure in the living room was revealed. Jiang Xue was wondering how a thief dared to turn on the light when she looked up and found that the person standing in the living room was Mu Qiancheng.
"Qiancheng, why did you come back?" Jiang Xue looked at Mu Qiancheng with surprise and joy, her whole body relaxing.
She hadn’t expected that so late at night, Mu Qiancheng would come back.
"Have you eaten? There’s not much to eat at home, I’ll make you some noodles." Jiang Xue said, heading to the kitchen.
"Xue’er, don’t bother, I’ve already eaten." Mu Qiancheng reached out to stop Jiang Xue from going to the kitchen and took off his coat.
Jiang Xue took his coat from his hands and hung it up, then looked at him seriously, asking, "Why did you come back so late? Did something happen?"
"No, don’t overthink it." Mu Qiancheng shook his head then sat down on the sofa with Jiang Xue, saying, "I was supposed to come back right after work, but I went to the police station, so I got home late."
"I’m very sorry for coming back so late; did I disturb you?" Mu Qiancheng said apologetically. He originally intended to return to the barracks but decided to come home instead.
He had already applied to the army that, unless there was training, he would stay at home in the evenings. The army had agreed.
"No, I haven’t slept yet."
"You haven’t slept so late, what are you busy with?" Mu Qiancheng was a bit worried. It was already ten o’clock, and Jiang Xue hadn’t gone to bed yet.
"I was reading a book." Jiang Xue lied; she was actually cultivating in the space.
"In the future, don’t stay up too late, it’s bad for your eyes."
"Okay, I’ll listen to you." Jiang Xue nodded, thinking about how Mu Qiancheng mentioned he went to the police station earlier, and asked, "By the way, why did you go to the police station?"
Mu Qiancheng laughed, looked at Jiang Xue, and said two words: "Guess!"
Jiang Xue was speechless. She wasn’t an Immortal; how could she guess why Mu Qiancheng went to the police station?
Seeing Jiang Xue’s speechless expression, Mu Qiancheng reached out to rub her head and said, "Alright, don’t think about it, I’ll tell you."
"Tell me!"
"It’s like this, I was worried someone might be lenient with Jiang Mingzhu and let her go, so after work, I went to the police station."
"Do you know what happened when I got to the police station?"
"What happened?" Jiang Xue was a bit nervous, slightly worried that Mu Qiancheng might have encountered something.
"Look at you, worrying, it’s not about me."
"If not you, then who?"
"Jiang Mingzhu!"
"What, Jiang Mingzhu, what happened to her?" Jiang Xue was a bit puzzled, wondering what trouble Jiang Mingzhu was up to again.
"What happened? She got into a fight."
"A fight?" Jiang Xue was stunned and asked, "With whom?"
"Could it be with Cheng Li?" From Jiang Xue’s perspective, the only one Jiang Mingzhu might fight with was Cheng Li. Although she had only had one encounter with Jiang Mingzhu, she had a dream in which she knew that in a past life, Jiang Mingzhu ended up killing Cheng Li.
