Chapter 44: Husband and Wife Part Ways
CHAPTER 44: CHAPTER 44: HUSBAND AND WIFE PART WAYS
Mu Qiancheng just got back, his stuff still placed aside, not even put into the cabinet yet.
Only the clothes he just changed out of were put in a bag and back into his pack.
Jiang Xue watched from the side as Mu Qiancheng put the clothes into the bag, thinking about how he was about to leave, feeling immense reluctance, she suddenly stretched out her hand and hugged his waist.
"Xue’er!" Mu Qiancheng looked at Jiang Xue with delight, hugging her tightly in return. Now, Jiang Xue had changed, and indeed he was somewhat unwilling to leave.
However, orders are like mountains; even though he was reluctant, he had to go. If he delayed any longer, he would miss the train tonight.
Jiang Xue held Mu Qiancheng for quite a while, then released him, and looked at him earnestly, saying, "When you arrive, remember to write me a letter."
Though phones are quite convenient, you still need to go to the small shop to receive calls, and Mu Qiancheng couldn’t make calls whenever he wanted, so writing letters was actually more convenient.
"Okay!" Mu Qiancheng nodded. Almost a year into the marriage, this was the first time his wife had asked him to write her a letter, so he was more than willing to comply.
"Xue’er, I’m leaving. You take care at home, look after yourself and the child, and help me take care of Mom and Dad. I’ll come back to see you all when I can."
"Okay, don’t worry. I’ll be fine and take good care of everyone." Jiang Xue nodded earnestly.
Mu Qiancheng left the room, looking back with every step he took. In the yard, Bai Yuhua and Mu Siwu were already waiting, watching their son with moist eyes as he carried his luggage.
"Dad, Mom, take care of yourselves!" Mu Qiancheng hugged them both, then took the food from Bai Yuhua’s hands and walked away briskly.
Jiang Xue stayed in the room and only came out with tear-streaked eyes after Mu Qiancheng left.
"Xue’er, don’t be sad. Mu Qiancheng is a man, he has his responsibilities, and you shouldn’t blame him."
"Mom, I’m not blaming him, I know it’s not easy for him."
Bai Yuhua watched Jiang Xue being so understanding, and while gratified, she advised, "It’s good not to blame him. You’re still recovering, don’t cry anymore, it’s not good for your eyes."
"Mom, I understand!"
"Then you should go back inside, don’t catch a cold." Bai Yuhua let Jiang Xue go inside, while she and her husband sat in the yard, lost in thought.
If possible, she really didn’t want Mu Qiancheng to stay in the unit. Each departure made her both sad and worried.
"Old man, Qiancheng has worked for so many years, do you think he should consider a transfer?" Bai Yuhua asked tentatively.
Transferring now would mean a job assignment, and the benefits are pretty good. She hadn’t just thought of this recently.
"Does our son look like someone willing to transfer and come back?" Mu Siwu wanted his son nearby, too. After all, they only had this one son.
But their son was strong-willed, what could they do about it? They couldn’t force him to come back if he didn’t want to. Besides, their son was doing well and had already become a minor leader there.
He’s so young and has already reached this position, with a promising future ahead. It would be a shame to have him transfer back now.
"Sigh, so are we just going to let him keep working there?" Bai Yuhua felt a bit unwilling.
"What else?" Mu Siwu looked at his wife, knowing exactly what she was thinking.
