Rebirth in the 90s: Melting My Devoted Mr. Iceberg
Chapter 81: The Taste Is Really Good
CHAPTER 81: CHAPTER 81: THE TASTE IS REALLY GOOD
She held the child, went to the kitchen, and saw that her in-laws were staring blankly at the breakfast she made. She couldn’t help but laugh and said, "Dad, Mom, you’re back, you can eat now."
Hearing Jiang Xue’s voice, Bai Yuhua turned her head and asked, "Xue’er, did you make this breakfast?"
"Yes, Mom, it’s my first time making breakfast. If it doesn’t taste good, I hope you won’t dislike it."
"First time making it?" Bai Yuhua was somewhat incredulous.
"Yes, Mom, I never cooked before. Today is the first time." Jiang Xue replied with a smile. After leaving the Mu Family in her past life, she wandered outside for five years and learned to cook for herself.
However, it was indeed her first time cooking now, so she wasn’t lying.
Bai Yuhua didn’t doubt her and, seeing her holding the child, promptly said, "You go on back; your dad and I will bring the food out."
Jiang Xue smiled, didn’t say much, and carried the child into the living room.
After Jiang Xue left the kitchen, Bai Yuhua and Mu Siwu started bringing the dishes out together.
The meal wasn’t lavish, but the portions were quite substantial. With just three people in the house, Jiang Xue made six large pancakes and a pot of porridge.
After serving the porridge, Bai Yuhua looked at the golden pancakes and couldn’t wait to take a bite.
Jiang Xue sat still, watching Bai Yuhua eat before asking, "Mom, how’s the taste?" To be honest, she hadn’t cooked in a long time and wasn’t sure if her skills had regressed.
Bai Yuhua didn’t answer Jiang Xue but instead took another bite and quickly swallowed it, as if she hadn’t eaten for days.
Seeing this, Mu Siwu didn’t wait any longer and took a bite of the pancake in his hand. As he bit into it, his eyes lit up. Even though the pancakes were made of cornmeal, they didn’t have that coarse throat-scratching feeling.
So, after the first bite, he didn’t stop until he’d eaten more than half the pancake. Then he looked at Jiang Xue and said, "Xue’er, how did you make this pancake? It’s so delicious."
"Yes, Xue’er, with such skill, it doesn’t seem like it’s your first time." Bai Yuhua once again doubted Jiang Xue. She had been cooking for decades yet found that her first attempt couldn’t match Jiang Xue’s flavor.
"Mom, it really is my first time. But I followed instructions from a book, so..." Jiang Xue offered an excuse, and Bai Yuhua believed it.
She knew Jiang Xue was smart. If it weren’t for her in-laws falling ill, she would’ve definitely gotten into college.
"Not bad, not bad. It seems Xue’er has quite a knack for cooking. Maybe you’ll become a great chef one day," Mu Siwu praised with a smile, taking a bite of shredded radish.
His eyes lit up again with the first bite. Not only were the pancakes delicious, but the shredded radish was also full of flavor and very refreshing.
After finishing, he went for another helping. Watching this, Jiang Xue reminded, "Dad, the shredded radish is even better with the pancake."
Hearing this, Mu Siwu took a bite of the radish and then the pancake, trying them together. He had to admit, the taste was indeed wonderful.
So he ate while saying to Bai Yuhua, "Wife, you should try it; the taste is really good."
Seeing her husband eating happily, Bai Yuhua, somewhat skeptical, took a bite.
After eating, she finally believed Mu Siwu’s words and began eating heartily.
