Chapter 91: I Need to Talk to You
CHAPTER 91: CHAPTER 91: I NEED TO TALK TO YOU
Cheng Li’s face was contorted with rage as she reached under the pillow and took out a letter. Holding the letter in her hand, her expression became complicated.
This was a letter sent from the military, addressed to Jiang Xue. Upon seeing the name Jiang Xue, Cheng Li’s face turned sour again.
She had already opened this letter as soon as she got it back. She could recite its contents backward, yet she still read it over and over.
She was unwilling, unwilling that Mu Qiancheng wrote to Jiang Xue, unwilling about Mu Qiancheng’s longing and devotion to Jiang Xue.
Cheng Li had thought about writing back on behalf of Jiang Xue, but she feared being discovered by Mu Qiancheng. She couldn’t guarantee that Mu Qiancheng wouldn’t recognize Jiang Xue’s handwriting.
If exposed, it would not be a good thing for her. So after getting the letter, besides hiding and secretly reading it, she didn’t dare to do anything.
She also considered writing to Mu Qiancheng in her own name, but the thought of Mu Qiancheng’s all-seeing gaze and his indifferent face scared her off.
Cheng Li touched the handwriting on the letter, some of the malice in her heart dissipated, and only then did she put the letter back under the pillow and went to sleep.
The next day, Song Anping and his wife Cheng Ying got up quite early, taking advantage of not working, and rode their bicycles to the Mu Family.
The sudden arrivals surprised the Mu Family couple and Jiang Xue. Jiang Xue didn’t know Song Anping but recognized Cheng Ying. When she was on good terms with Cheng Li, she had met Cheng Ying a few times and knew they were from the same village and that she worked at the post office.
However, Bai Yuhua and Mu Siwu did know Song Anping and knew he was a classmate of their son. So they were quite welcoming of his visit.
"Anping, what brings you here?" Mu Siwu was amazed to see Song Anping at his home so early in the morning and said, "Come in and sit!"
"Uncle Mu, I came to see Jiang Xue." Song Anping didn’t go in, standing at the door, he said.
"Looking for Xue’er, is there something?" Mu Siwu was taken aback and asked.
"There is something." Song Anping was a bit embarrassed and didn’t dare to tell Mu Siwu that his wife had given his son’s letter to someone else.
"Alright, wait here, I’ll get her." Mu Siwu didn’t ask much; he didn’t want to meddle too much in young people’s affairs.
Mu Siwu went inside and called Jiang Xue out, telling her that Mu Qiancheng’s classmate had come.
Jiang Xue was playing with the child, and upon hearing this, she immediately handed the child to Mu Siwu and went out.
Exiting the room, she was slightly stunned to see Song Anping and Cheng Ying standing in the yard, then looked at Cheng Ying and asked, "Sister Ying, why are you here? Is there something?"
Though Jiang Xue had objections to Cheng Li, she was still quite polite to Cheng Ying.
"Jiang Xue, we do have something to discuss with you." Cheng Ying looked at Jiang Xue, a bit embarrassed.
"What is it? Sister Ying, tell me."
"Jiang Xue, it’s like this, previously a letter sent to you from the military was taken by Cheng Li. Now your husband is looking into the whereabouts of that letter, so I wanted to ask you, did Cheng Li not give you the letter?"
"I never received the letter. When did this happen?" Jiang Xue looked at Cheng Ying, her face somewhat grim. The letter Mu Qiancheng sent her was taken by Cheng Li, and she almost wronged him.
Cheng Ying thought for a moment and said, "More than half a month ago."
"I understand. So, Sister Ying, what brings you here today?"
