Chapter b103 /b
ALINA’S POV
Days went by, and I still hadn’t been able to bring myself to tell Lucian what I overheard at my parents‘ house.
Yes, I was stalling, but he had been busy too. By the time he got home, I was already asleep, and when I woke up, he was already gone.
Talia still hadn’t found any information about my birth parents, or the enemy in the shadows, as I now referred to him. It was disappointing, to say the least.
The only thing going right was the n to sabotage Adrian’s project.
I didn’t know how she was doing it, but Talia was handling it like a pro.
“Ma’am, Mr. Grey is here.” Mia said, rushing into my office.
“Can you tell him I’m not in?” I asked as I scrambled to stand up and maybe hide.
“It’s toote, ma’am. He’s already-”
She didn’t need to finish that sentence. Louis walked into my office at that exact moment, shing his usual charming grin.
Ugh. Somebody shoot me.
“Miss Dawn. It’s always a pleasure.” He said, helping himself to a seat like he owned the ce.
I knew he’d heard me ask Mia to tell him I wasn’t around,but honestly, I didn’t care.
“Mr. Grey,” I said, forcing a professional smile. “It’s nice to see you again.”
“Really?” He asked, one brow raised, clearly not buying it.
“It’s fine, Mia. You can goi./ii” /iI told her.
She threw me an apologetic look before excusing herself and shutting the door behind her.
“To what do I owe this visit?” bI /basked, lowering myself into my seat.
“I’m an investor, remember?” He replied as though I needed reminding.
“I’m quite aware of that, but we don’t have a meeting scheduled, do we?” I asked, trying to recall if Mia had mentioned one and I forgot.
“No, but that’s because you’ve been avoiding me.” He said in a blunt tone.
“I haven’t.”

“Oh really? You were supposed to think about our partnership and get back to me. It’s been weeks.” He pointed out.
“I haven’t been avoiding you, Mr. Grey. I’ve honestly been busy.” I said.
And that was the truth. Between the chaos in my life, I had genuinely forgotten about him.
“Right. Let’s say that’s true. What’s your response?” He asked, crossing his legs, eyes trained on my face, waiting for my response.
“To what?” I blinked, genuinely confused.
“To us working together,” he said in a t tone. “Thest conversation we had, you either agree to work with me, or you pay a breach of contract fee. Did you forget?”
How could I have forgotten that dreadful conversation?
“Oh, that?” I said, the memory slowly returning.
“Yes, that,” he said, slightly annoyed. “I know you have your reservations about me, Miss Dawn, but I’m sure you can think about the future of your business, and not let personal feelings about me get in the way of doing good business together.”
It was the first time I saw him this serious. He always has that yful grin on his face, this was a change.
But he had a point though. I needed to put my business first and to do that, Ineeded to put my feelings aside and work with him. Refusing to work with people who could take Alinova to the next level simply because I didn’t like them wasn’t a smart move on my part.
Besides, Alinova has already signed a contract with him. Since I didn’t have the money to pay a breach fee, I might as well work with him.
“You’re right,” I admitted. “Wee aboard, Mr. Grey. I look forward to a smooth partnership.” I extended my hand.
His signature grin returned as he shook it firmly.
“Trust me, you won’t regret your decision.” He said, his tone assuring.
“I hope not.” I muttered under my breath.
“Now that that’s out of the way, let’s get to business,” he said, shifting back into his business tone. “How busy are you this month?” He asked.
“Not too busy. Why?“I questioned, brows drawn together in curiosity.
“Well I have a huge order. And it’s yours, if you want it.”
“A huge order?” I repeated, perking up instantly.
“Yes. So I have a client in Ravienne City who wants a wardrobe overhaul. He wants something unique.

Something that hasn’t been seen before. You’ll be designing outfits suitable for all seasons. But the best part? You’re not just designing for him, but for his entire family. A family of four. So,do you want it?”
Was he kidding? This was huge.
“Do I want it? Is that even a question? Of course I want it! This could be huge for Alinova!” I said, eyes wide in excitement. “How loaded is this client?b” /b
“Very. And quite generous,” he said with a satisfied nod. “So, we’re good to go?”
“Of course we are.” I said quickly. “Just give me a second.”
I picked up the inte.
“Mia, get in here.” I said before dropping the call.
Within seconds, she appeared.
“Get your notepad ready, because the next few months are going to be very busy for us.” I informed her with a wide grin.
She had a look of confusion on her face but did as she was told.
“You can proceed with the details, Mr. Grey.” I told Louis with a big smile.
I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face and could barely contain my excitement as heid out the little information he had on the client to Mia. The client was apparently a busy man and wouldn’t be hands–on, meaning I’d be working closely with Louis instead.
“Well, I beg to take my leave now. But you’ll be seeing more of me around.” Louis said, standing and extending his hand again.
“I look forward to it.” bI /bsaid, shaking his hand.
For once, I wasn’t appalled at the idea of having him around anymore.
The moment I was absolutely sure he was gone, I let out a scream of pure excitement.
“We might have just hit the jackpot, Mia!”
“Uhm… I thought you didn’t want to work with him and didn’t like him, ma’am?” Mia asked, clearly confused.
“Well that was before he brought us our first million–dor contract.” I told her with a smile. “Choosing him doesn’t seem like such a bad idea anymore. Good job, Mia. I’ll be texting HR to give you a raise.”
“Thank you so much, ma’am!” She beamed widely.
bThe /bsmile didn’t bleave /bmy face all through the rest of the workday. I was certain nothing could ruin it, but I
was wrong.
