ALINA’S POV

My eyes widened at the horrifying sight that greeted me.

Lucian had the sleeves of his ck dress shirt rolled up as he punched the shit out of a guard. All twenty guards who were supposed to be stationed outside were in here.

Well, that exins their absence.

All the men were badly bruised, and it didn’t seem as though Lucian was anywhere near done with them

“I told you nothing is allowed in or out of this premises without my permission! And what did you do? You let her sneak out!” Lucian yelled between punches

The guard in question was a bhuge /bguy. I was sure that if he hadn’t been, he would’ve passed out by now.

“S–sorry, Boss.” The guard wheezed out

Lucian stopped his assault on him and turned to face the rest. They took a couple of steps back in fright.!--

“How did one tiny woman bypass all twenty of you, huh?” His voice was venomous “You were all hired because you came highly rmended–special forces, everyst one of you, but what I realized today is that you’re just a bunch of fucking morons!”

His voice boomed, echoing through the room like a p of thunder.

I had never seen Lucian this furious before. It terrified the bejesus out of me. Now I understood why Ace hadn’t wanted me toe in here. It looked like a war zone–if I could even call it that.

Lucian looked so lethal, so out of control, that I atst understood why people thought he was in the mafia

“You!” Lucian barked, pointing at a younger guard. I recognized him, it was the same man who had grabbed my arm when I tried to leave earlier today, “Come here.” He beckoned with his index finger.

He was visibly bshaking /bas he stepped forward. I couldn’t help but feel bad for him. I don’t wish to be in his position.

Lucian’s hand shot out, gripping his cor as soon as he was within arm’s reach

“You’re new,” Lucian regarded him coldly.

“Yb–/byes.. b–boss.” He stuttered.

“I was told youid your hands on my woman

“N–no, b–boss, 1b—/bbL/b‘

bLucian /bchuckled darkly at how nervous he wasb. /b“Didn’t anyone tell you you’re never allowed to touch her? Maybe I need to use you as an example.. so the rest will learn.” His voice was calm, almost casual, and that bonly /bmade it all the more terrifying. “What bhand /bdid you touch her with?”

Lucian dragged him over to a nearby workbench covered with various tools. “bWhich /bone?”

“bId/bb–/bdidn’t know, Boss” The young guard pleaded, his voice thick with fear.

“Right it bis/b.” Lucian picked up a pair of pliers, testing how sharp they were before bringing them toward the guard’s right hand.

“Stop!”

I didn’t even bknow /bwhen the scream tore out of my throat.

Every head in the room snapped toward me. Before I realized bwhat /bI was doing, my body was already moving–slowly approaching Lucian the way one would approach a wounded wolf.

Lucian’s beyes /blocked onto mine, it was filled with rage, relief, pain.. but mostly rage.

“Please, let go of him.” My voice trembled. My heart thumped like a drum against my ribs.

“Why should I?” Lucian smirkedb, /band it sent a shudder through me. “You’re the reason I’m hurting bhim/b.”

“I know.. just–just let him go, please.” I begged, my voice breaking

Lucian’s grip tightened around the guard’s wrist, making him wince.

“You’re hurting him.”

I know, “It’s your fault!” Lucian spat. “The more you defile me, the more others pay for it.” His words were hand and sharp, slicing through me.

“I know! I know I was wrong! bPlease/bb, /bjust let him go!” I cried out. My legs gave out beneath me, and I dropped to my knees. “Please..”

Lucian finally released the guard’s wrist, much to my relief. The guard scrambled away from him, nearly stumbling over himself. clutching his red, bruised wrist with his good hand as he returned to the others.

I saw Lucian’s legs first, then he squatted before me. His face came into view only a secondter, and he gripped my jaw in a tight hold, forcing me to look at him.

“Get bout/b!” He yelled.

was confused. How was I supposed to leave if he was holding me in bce/b!

“Do not make me repeat myself. He growled.

At his firmmand, all twenty guards rushed out of the room, some of them limping, none of them bold enough to disobey. “No–don’t leave me here alone with him. bI /bpleaded silently in my head. But s it was useless,

They all left.

A smirk curled Lucian’s lips the moment we were alone. It was dark. Dangerous,

“Now, what am I going to do with you?” He muttered

The smirk on his face darkened considerably.

Oh no.
