CHAPTER 11: CHAPTER 11: NOT AS FOND AS BEFORE

This woman, truly leaves no stone unturned to stay in the Sinclair Family, and he was indeed too careless to let her succeed step by step.

To make the act even more convincing, Grandpa Sinclair pretended to faint by closing his eyes just after Quinn Lockwood agreed.

Quinn Lockwood, lacking experience, had no idea that Grandpa Sinclair did it on purpose. She initially wanted to call for a few bodyguards to carry Grandpa back to his room, but when she looked up, she saw Elias Sinclair standing there, indifferent.

This man, truly heartless, was indifferent even when his own family member collapsed. One could only imagine his attitude toward someone he didn’t like.

Now, bearing the identity of Savannah Lowell, how could she expect him to be kind to her?

"What are you standing there for, hurry up and help!"

Quinn Lockwood shouted angrily. She was truly at a loss for words. What kind of people are these? How could Savannah Lowell fall for someone like him? Even if they grew up as family friends, she couldn’t have been blind, right?

Ignoring Quinn Lockwood’s voice, Elias Sinclair unhurriedly walked over to Grandpa Sinclair and gracefully helped him up.

"Wow, so handsome."

Grace, the maid, couldn’t help but whisper softly.

For someone who works out regularly, this was no big deal. Besides, since Grandpa Sinclair was acting, if you looked closely, you’d notice his legs secretly exerting strength.

Before leaving, Elias Sinclair turned around, full of disdain, sarcastically said, "Congratulations, you achieved your goal."

Then he sent Grandpa into the room, leaving Quinn Lockwood fuming on the spot.

If not for worrying about Grandpa’s health right now, she would’ve fought back fiercely.

Arrogant fool, how many times does she have to say it before he’ll believe she really doesn’t like him anymore?

Mrs. Lewis invited the family doctor to examine Grandpa Sinclair. To ensure a quiet environment, the doctor said that too many people would be agitating, so only one family member was allowed to accompany.

Naturally, it was Elias Sinclair who went in, as he was the blood relative. Quinn Lockwood, although worried, could only wait outside.

There was no need for a quiet environment; all these excuses were just part of Grandpa Sinclair’s act.

Separated by a door, the people outside waited anxiously, while the three inside exchanged glances.

The same scenario, Elias Sinclair was really tired. He didn’t understand why he had to accompany his grandfather in acting in front of Savannah Lowell, when she was the one acting all along.

"Grandpa, next time, do your acting when I’m not around."

Finished speaking, he strode away, only to be met by Quinn Lockwood’s worried gaze as he stepped out.

Damn it, this woman, did she intend to scare him to death?

"Stop acting."

The words were filled with impatience, and Elias Sinclair tried his best not to look at Quinn Lockwood, feeling disgusted.

She had achieved her purpose; he had never seen her care much about Grandpa, so why act so hypocritically in front of him?

"How’s Grandpa? Is he okay?"

Ignoring Elias Sinclair’s cold words, she was used to it after all. At this moment, Quinn Lockwood was just more concerned about Grandpa’s safety.

To be honest, if something really happened to Grandpa, part of the reason would be her.

She should have realized that Grandpa was too old to withstand such stress, and yet she insisted on leaving, ignoring advice.

Growing up with her mom, she had always been told that her dad had passed away, let alone meeting her biological grandfather.

Every time she saw other kids being picked up by their grandparents, she would feel lonely and squat in a corner, but to avoid making her mom sad, she never asked about it.

Such sensibility made her always considerate of others’ feelings with friends, which was why she fell into Ariana Lynch’s trap.

"Save your hypocrisy; it’s useless in front of me."

Elias Sinclair countered sharply, and Quinn Lockwood could no longer endure.

"Elias Sinclair, that’s enough. Let me tell you, although I agreed to Grandpa to stay, I will never again be infatuated with you, nor will I bother you. I hope you can speak to me with some respect in the future!"

Quinn Lockwood thought it would require courage to say these words to Elias Sinclair, considering she was in Savannah Lowell’s body. Each time Elias told her he didn’t like her, or when she tried to speak harshly to him, her heart would always ache slightly.

However, the imagined pain didn’t come this time. Instead, she felt relieved after venting.

Saying empty words, Elias Sinclair had no patience to argue further with her. Without even looking at Quinn Lockwood, he walked away.

Watching his departing figure, Quinn Lockwood gave the air a middle finger. Just as she was about to go inside to see Grandpa, the doctor came out and told her that Grandpa Sinclair was fine, already resting.

Finally, Quinn Lockwood’s worries eased. As long as he was okay, given that Grandpa was resting, she wouldn’t disturb him anymore.

After such an incident with Grandpa, she really couldn’t leave now, meaning she couldn’t take care of her brother.

Oh right, wasn’t Elias Sinclair the one taking care of him before? Then why did he come back just now?

Quinn Lockwood slapped her forehead in frustration. She should’ve known this man was unreliable. How could she have entrusted her brother to him?

Rushing all the way to the hospital, she found Cameron Grant enjoying some porridge.

"What’s going on?"

Seeing Quinn Lockwood covered in sweat, Cameron Grant was puzzled.

"Don’t mention it. If it weren’t for that egotistical Elias Sinclair, I could’ve gone home to take care of you. It’s all his fault."

Quinn Lockwood said while swinging her fist in the air to show her displeasure.

Cameron Grant couldn’t help but laugh, yet he felt something was amiss.

Savannah Lowell of the past wouldn’t have talked to him like this. What surprised him most was her comments about Elias Sinclair, someone she deeply loved.

"And I thought he’d take care of you, which is why I left assured. Unexpectedly, he was indeed carefree—he went back in less than an hour and only left two nurses to watch over you. Who does that? Even if something came up, at least let me know. Could he bear the responsibility if anything happened?"

"Character, that’s what it is—character. Arrogant and vain normally, always giving me the cold shoulder, more like a poker face, and now he doesn’t even care about his friends."

Quinn Lockwood rambled on endlessly, speaking in such a lively manner that she seemed like she was giving a lecture.

Her expression didn’t seem like she was acting; besides, Savannah Lowell had no need to act in front of him. Cameron Grant felt she truly was different.

They had limited interactions before; let alone visiting the hospital for him—even if she did, it was all for Elias Sinclair’s sake.

Asking about Elias’s interests, his favorite foods, and his schedule for the next few days, but now, what she mentioned were all Elias Sinclair’s traits as she saw them.

Cameron Grant sensed that she genuinely didn’t like Elias Sinclair as much as before.
