CHAPTER 17: CHAPTER 17: PARENTAL CONCERN

She really never expected that she would stay to accompany them today. Thinking of this, Mrs. Lowell’s eyes gradually became moist again.

By rights, you should know your own child; she has always been rebellious. When has she ever been so well-behaved? Could it be that she has suffered some grievances?

"Savannah, how have you been recently? Why does it seem like you’ve lost weight?"

Not knowing if it’s because they haven’t seen each other for a long time, Mrs. Lowell always feels that her child has become much thinner, which makes her heart ache again.

"No, I haven’t." Quinn touched her own cheek, "Maybe it’s been too long since we last met."

If it weren’t for today, Quinn wouldn’t have known that Savannah’s face was so small. Is this the legendary palm-sized face? Carrying Savannah’s memories, she felt that surviving in the entertainment industry without a family background and status was really not easy. She had to manage her figure, giving up the foods she loved, thinking about it was painful.

"You know you haven’t been back for a long time."

Mr. Lowell was slightly angry. From childhood to adulthood, whatever she wanted, he gave her. If he had known she would grow up to be so ungrateful and disobedient, he might have given her away earlier.

"Mr. Sutton!"

Mrs. Lowell poked Mr. Lowell, signaling him to be mindful of what he says and not to be so harsh on the child.

"Mom and Dad, I was immature before. I know I was wrong. I’ll come back often to keep you company from now on."

Quinn pouted, looking innocently apologetic.

"Alright, alright."

After hearing this, Mr. and Mrs. Lowell were very gratified. Their daughter finally understood. In contrast, Cameron looked at her in surprise, unable to believe that these words came from Savannah’s mouth.

"Savannah, how have things been between you and Elias recently?"

Out of concern, Mrs. Lowell cautiously brought up the topic. In the past, Elias was a taboo subject in front of Savannah; none of them dared to mention him. They didn’t want to see their daughter lose herself over a man and it caused a lot of unpleasantness.

Later, when they tried to ask out of concern, Savannah was already not in Elias’s favor and felt her parents were there to mock her, so she wasn’t willing to talk much.

"It’s fine."

Quinn answered directly, her mood unaffected, as if nothing was wrong.

After all, she wasn’t Savannah. Whether things were good with Elias or not didn’t matter. If they were, she wouldn’t be pining for him like Savannah. If not, she wouldn’t cry over him. Saying this was entirely to relieve their worries.

Cameron, however, seemed thoughtful at that moment. She wasn’t as averse as before and wanted to tell her parents the truth, but Quinn stopped him with a glance.

Though she said that, Mr. and Mrs. Lowell were still not reassured. Since they had started the conversation and their daughter wasn’t resistant, they might as well ask thoroughly for peace of mind.

"If you’re unhappy, come home. Don’t keep doing things that hurt yourself."

Mr. Lowell had a serious expression. They had heard about her threatening to jump because of Elias. There are no parents who don’t love their children. No matter how rebellious or willful she is, she’s still their child.

The Lowell family isn’t inferior to The Sinclair Family. If she wants to develop in the entertainment industry, all she needs to do is say so. Would she ever lack resources? With her background, status, figure, and looks, finding a suitable partner is easy. Why stick to Elias?

"Yes, no matter how willful you are, you have to think of your mom and dad. If you really jumped, what would we do?" Mrs. Lowell agreed with concern. This child was such a worry. When she heard about this from Cameron, she almost fainted.

Although those were not Quinn’s actions, when she heard it, guilt filled her heart.

She actually envied Savannah quite a bit, having parents who loved her so much, yet she didn’t cherish it and did so many things that broke their hearts.

Now, she couldn’t even be filial to her own mother or acknowledge her father. Maybe because of this, Quinn decided to take good care of Mr. and Mrs. Lowell from now on.

"Mom and Dad, I was immature before and did so many stupid things, making you worry. But it’s all in the past. I’ll never do it again."

Quinn held Mr. and Mrs. Lowell’s hands, her eyes full of sincerity.

The family dynamics were much warmer. Early the next morning, Quinn drove to the agency.

The most important thing now was to find an opportunity to slowly get closer to Ariana, and this opportunity had to be through her own efforts.

Since being reborn, she hadn’t seen her work environment with her own eyes. Most of it was Savannah’s memory. To be honest, Quinn felt a bit uneasy; she had never been in this circle before.

Seizing the opportunity while waiting at the red light, she quickly picked up her phone to study acting. Savannah already had a lot of scandals; she couldn’t let people question her acting skills further.

She was so engrossed that she didn’t notice the green light, annoying the vehicles behind her. Only then did Quinn snap back and start the car, only to see Elias’s car in front of her.

Why did she have to run into him everywhere? Feeling it was bad luck, not wanting to get misunderstood, she chose a route further from the company.

After making several detours, she finally arrived at the company. Quinn cursed inwardly; if it weren’t for that egotistical maniac, it wouldn’t have been so troublesome.

Everyone in the company was busy with their own tasks. She wanted to greet someone, but no one paid attention to her, leaving Quinn to pout with frustration until her manager saw her and came over willingly.

She was late again, and her manager, Anna, rolled her eyes, "My dear young lady, you finally arrived."

Since Savannah signed with this company, she had never been on time. Although their work didn’t have fixed hours, and artists didn’t need to frequently visit the company, it was mainly after agents received notices that they then coordinated with the artists.

However, in their line of work, the biggest fear is offending people, especially in this circle. One must protect their reputation and improve emotional intelligence. One absolutely cannot offend the agency. Aside from scheduling gigs and paying salaries, the main responsibility of an agency is crisis management, relieving some pressure on artists.

But Savannah never cared about such things, except for Elias. She didn’t care about anything else, often acting like a diva, refusing small directors’ roles and web dramas, rejecting scripts she didn’t like, and terminating contracts at any sign of disagreement with the crew, ultimately ruining her reputation in the company.

But no matter what, she had the invisible backing of the Lowell Family. Despite the continuous negative news, she remained popular, which explained why she never lacked resources and why the agency never terminated her contract.

"Anna."

Quinn greeted her manager politely. Since she needed to rely on her own efforts to get close to Ariana, she had to build a good relationship with her manager to achieve her goal sooner.

Anna looked at Quinn in surprise. Was the sun rising from the west today?

"Are you alright?"
