CHAPTER 30: CHAPTER 30: RESULTS AT LAST

"Savannah."

Ariana Lynch finished her business and saw Savannah Lowell, who was about to leave. She deliberately walked over and blocked her path.

All eyes turned to them, as if some major event was about to happen.

Quinn Lockwood was forced to stop, trying not to let her rage show too clearly.

"Savannah, where are you going?"

Ariana Lynch deliberately pretended to be very familiar with her and asked affectionately, with unknown thoughts in her mind.

"Just stepping out for a bit."

Quinn Lockwood suppressed the hatred in her heart, pretending as if nothing was wrong.

When things appear out of the ordinary, there must be a catch. Ariana Lynch actively approached her, surely with more than just curiosity about where she was going.

"Are you going to deal with yesterday’s news? I saw all of it. Savannah, you don’t have to mind it too much."

Ariana Lynch smiled and patted Quinn Lockwood on the shoulder.

Words that seemingly offered comfort, only Quinn Lockwood knew were meant to mock her.

"These have nothing to do with you, so don’t trouble yourself."

With a fierce retort, Quinn Lockwood left with large strides without looking back.

Ariana Lynch’s usual tactics were all too familiar to her, but she didn’t want to get entangled further, regardless of what others thought.

However, others clearly misunderstood and began to gossip.

"How can Savannah Lowell be like that? Ariana went out of her way to talk to her, and she had that attitude."

"Savannah Lowell is too arrogant, mistaking good intentions for malice."

"She acts so recklessly in the company, I’m embarrassed to tell others we work at the same company."

Listening to their comments, Ariana Lynch smiled victoriously in the direction Quinn Lockwood had left.

"Are none of you working anymore?"

Seeing this, Anna immediately went over to stop the colleagues from talking.

Everyone dispersed, and Anna turned to Ariana Lynch, smiling apologetically, "Ariana, Savannah’s always like that, don’t be angry."

Though extremely unwilling to clean up Savannah Lowell’s mess each time, as her agent, Anna had no choice but to do so, especially since she had to preserve the company’s reputation. She couldn’t let Ariana Lynch think poorly of their company because of Savannah Lowell.

"What are you saying, of course, I won’t be upset. I know Savannah’s temper well and won’t take it to heart."

Ariana Lynch’s voice exceeded what was necessary for a conversation between two people, clearly meant for those around to hear.

Sure enough, upon hearing her words, everyone thought of Savannah Lowell’s consistent behavior and disliked Quinn Lockwood even more.

"That’s good. Ariana, you truly have a big heart. Let me show you around the company."

Anna spoke with a gesture of invitation.

"Okay, but you should call me Ariana from now on, Anna. You’re a veteran in the industry."

Ariana Lynch deliberately emphasized the word ’veteran.’ She understood better than anyone what people needed, so in her eyes, no one was her match.

Anna was slightly stunned at the word ’veteran.’ For so long, apart from unknown small actors, only Ariana Lynch had ever said that.

In every industry, everyone seeks respect and recognition. But ever since taking charge of Savannah Lowell’s career, it seemed to be on a decline.

"Anna, let’s tour the company."

Satisfied with Anna’s reaction, Ariana Lynch chose not to continue the previous topic.

Sometimes, too much politeness appears insincere; she understood this better than anyone.

"Alright."

Anna spoke and led Ariana Lynch on a tour of the company, not refusing the title.

The Sinclair Group.

Elias Sinclair arrived at the company in the morning and saw Joyce Kramer slumped and asleep in front of her computer. He frowned, evidently upset.

Joyce Kramer was his trusted assistant, never late or leaving early, let alone openly sleeping during work hours.

"Thud, thud."

Elias Sinclair walked to Joyce Kramer’s side, discreetly knocked twice on the desk.

Joyce Kramer, sleepy-eyed, lifted her head and hurriedly stood up, accidentally kicking her chair over, "Pre... President Sinclair."

Glancing at her watch, she became fully alert, facing Elias Sinclair’s gaze, showing rare panic.

It was her first mistake before someone she liked, leaving her feeling mortified.

"Don’t bring personal emotions to work."

Elias Sinclair coldly stated, clearly misunderstanding.

Joyce Kramer’s heart instantly felt stabbed, wondering if he misunderstood her fatigue from personal reasons the previous night as why she slept at work today.

"President Sinclair, I..."

Instinctively, Joyce Kramer wanted to defend herself, yet in Elias Sinclair’s presence, lacked the courage.

Remembering that Elias Sinclair disliked explanations; wrong was simply wrong, she ultimately just nodded, "I will be mindful."

Nearby colleague Mike was displeased by Joyce Kramer’s misinterpretation. She hadn’t rested all night helping the boss lessen the scandal’s intensity. It wasn’t right she was misunderstood.

"President Sinclair, Director Kramer wasn’t intentionally sleeping during work hours. Last night she stayed up removing all the heat for you, causing her morning mistake."

Thinking it over, Mike decided to inform Elias Sinclair of the truth.

Surprised by the news, Elias Sinclair hadn’t expected Joyce Kramer to work so tirelessly. Acknowledging his misaccusation with the staff watching surely left them disheartened, he handed Joyce Kramer his freshly purchased sandwich, realizing she likely hadn’t had breakfast.

"I appreciate your hard work."

Joyce Kramer stood there, flustered.

It took her a moment, but she gradually accepted the sandwich, "Thank you, President Sinclair, it’s my pleasure."

"Without resting last night, take a day off today to rest well."

Elias Sinclair, whilst heading to his desk, began handling a file.

"No need, I don’t need the rest."

Joyce Kramer immediately declined; how could she waste the chance to be with him, even if only at work?

Elias Sinclair skeptically eyed Joyce Kramer; after all, she had just fallen asleep from exhaustion, "Are you sure? Don’t push yourself."

In Elias Sinclair’s view, the term ’career woman’ was fittingly applied to Joyce Kramer; she had been such a presence since college.

"I’m sure."

Joyce Kramer’s mood inexplicably lifted; had his earlier words been a gesture of concern?

Upon hearing her affirmation, Elias Sinclair gave no insistence, "Alright, then let’s get to work."

With that, Elias Sinclair proceeded with his work, Joyce Kramer replied and returned to her desk.

Holding the sandwich, glancing at Elias Sinclair in the distance, Joyce Kramer grinned knowingly; her efforts were finally yielding results.
