Rebirth of the Movie Queen: Mrs. Sinclair, Please Hug Me!
Chapter 375: Strange Atmosphere
CHAPTER 375: CHAPTER 375: STRANGE ATMOSPHERE
Elias Sinclair nodded, indicating he had answered Cameron Grant’s question.
Elias was always cold and taciturn, and Cameron was used to it. He understood his personality and found nothing unusual.
"Savannah, I’m here to tell you that the informant we caught a couple of days ago has gone missing," Cameron turned his gaze to Quinn Lockwood, his brows slightly furrowed, his expression already serious.
"Missing?" Quinn lowered her eyes, her face suddenly darkened. She recalled what that informant had said and the things they had found on him, suddenly feeling as if something was about to surface.
A voice flashed through her mind, the voice from that anonymous number in the informant’s phone. It seemed quite similar to Joyce Kramer’s voice she had just heard on the call.
She abruptly raised her head to look at Elias Sinclair, her gaze gradually darkening, her voice turning cold: "Is Joyce still abroad? When you’re handling affairs or in meetings, is she always there?"
"Yes, she’s still over there. There are some contracts and meetings she hasn’t finished. When I heard about you, she returned, needing to stay there to wrap things up." Elias’s brow furrowed into a shape of a river character, his long phoenix eyes narrowing slightly, his slender fingers gently stroking his chin.
He turned his head to meet Quinn’s gaze, asking in a low tone, "What’s wrong?"
Quinn’s eyes flickered unnaturally before quickly returning to normal. She lightly shook her head, softly saying, "Nothing, just asking."
She seemed to know who made that anonymous call from abroad, but she didn’t have proof yet, so she decided not to tell Elias Sinclair for now.
If her guess was wrong, Elias would likely think she was deliberately making things difficult for Joyce.
Thinking of this made Quinn feel a bit sad, her gaze gradually darkening.
Elias Sinclair’s gaze fell on Quinn, seemingly noticing her oddness, a vague light flashing in his depths.
Cameron looked at the two in front of him, each lost in thought, recalling Elias and Quinn’s intimate demeanor earlier, his peach blossom eyes turning cold, clouding over all beauty.
"Savannah, the issue with the agency isn’t resolved yet, right? I’m free this afternoon, let me go sign the contract with you. The lawyer has prepared everything." Cameron’s refined face carried a trace of melancholy, his thin lips slightly parted, his feelings seemingly complex.
He hadn’t planned to rush Quinn into handling things, knowing she’d been hurt. Cameron had come to check on her, but seeing the scene earlier, he forgot his original purpose.
His gaze fell on Quinn’s bandaged hand, his brows slightly furrowed.
"Sure, shall we go now?" Quinn nodded. She couldn’t stand Anna and Evan Caldwell’s hypocrisy, and now knowing Anna was working against her, she wanted to terminate the contract with them quickly.
Once the contract was terminated, she’d be free—no need to gather attention through scandals nor engage in non-beneficial publicity activities.
"Anytime you’re free, we can head out. I’ve already had the lawyer deliver the contract." Cameron looked at Quinn warmly, his voice as soothing as a gentle stream, his lips curved into a breathtaking smile.
Elias watched as Quinn and Cameron conversed as if he didn’t exist, a hint of a frown appearing on his aloof face, making it difficult to discern his emotions.
A deep shade crossed his eyes, and in a low tone, he said, "I’ll go too."
"Had I known about the cancellation, I would have taken care of it before going abroad." Elias leaned back, his tone seemingly complaining, but the chill had already dissipated before reaching his eyes.
Quinn felt nervous hearing Elias’s odd tone. She quickly sat up straight, turning to explain anxiously.
"It’s not that I didn’t want to tell you, I just thought it was simple, no need to bother you. Don’t overthink it."
Quinn actually wanted to say it was because Elias was abroad and didn’t answer her calls, hence he didn’t know. But if she said that, Elias would surely be upset.
So she decided to take all the blame on herself.
She didn’t realize she was starting to care about Elias’s feelings.
Elias raised an eyebrow, watching Quinn’s flustered look, a faint smile forming on his lips, though his voice remained cool and low, "Do you not want to bother me, or not want to tell me?"
"I remember someone angrily told me last night not to interfere." Elias’s tone was slightly teasing, his handsome features clear-cut, with his eyes twinkling with hidden laughter, looking quite relaxed.
Quinn puffed her cheeks, realizing Elias was teasing her, rolling her eyes exaggeratedly at him.
"Don’t mention it again." Remembering how she sulked over a misunderstanding with Elias last night, Quinn’s face uncontrollably turned red.
It seemed Elias knew everything, and she felt utterly embarrassed.
Cameron watched the duo tease each other, feeling increasingly complex. His thin lips, sakura-like, pressed tightly together, he sat silently by the side.
Feeling a gaze on her, Quinn started, turning her head to follow the sensation.
She met Cameron’s clear, gentle eyes.
Quinn seemed to see the dim disappointment in his eyes, along with an indescribable and strange feeling.
She blinked, attempting to discern Cameron’s expression, but upon looking again, that strange, lost feeling had vanished, leaving only his usual gentle, elegant smile.
The atmosphere among the three remained somewhat strange.
After Elias had Dr. Angus come over to check Quinn’s wound and change her bandages, the three set off for the agency.
"Savannah, you’re here! Come in and sit. Mr. Sinclair, Mr. Grant, come in, I’ll make you some tea." As the three arrived downstairs at the agency, Evan Caldwell heard from reception that they had arrived together.
Evan had never encountered such a scene, feeling his teeth chatter a bit, moving with some panic.
He hurried to the break room to prepare the most expensive tea, along with the pure black coffee Quinn preferred, bringing them to the VIP lounge.
"Mr. Sinclair, Mr. Grant, Savannah, what brings you here?" Evan adorned his face with a fawning smile, approaching cautiously.
