CHAPTER 377: CHAPTER 377: COMPETING FOR SUPREMACY

"You can’t blame me for not finding a job; I didn’t do anything. I suppose your job performance and character must be too poor."

"I heard that violating the agent’s regulations could lead to a permanent blacklist in the industry."

Quinn Lockwood stopped in her tracks and stood facing Anna, the corners of her lips slightly curving upward, watching her reaction with interest.

Don’t you know what kind of person you are?

Not only did you violate the agent’s regulations, but you also turned around and claimed someone else harmed you.

With employees like this, I doubt any company would dare to take you in.

Anna was rendered speechless by Quinn Lockwood’s words; hearing her mention the violation of agent regulations made her heart skip a beat in fear.

She had indeed violated them.

How did Quinn Lockwood know?

Could it be... that she’s traced it back to me?

Anna’s hand hanging by her side clenched tightly, her eyes filled with unforgiving hatred, and her body seemed stiff, standing in place without speaking for a long time.

Seeing the increasingly complex expression on Anna’s face, Quinn Lockwood’s eyes flashed with a sharp glint, looking at her coldly, and said slowly, "So, the smear campaign about me, did you release it to discredit me?"

"Yes, it was me who released it. So what?" Anna tightened her fist, a fleeting look of resentment flashing across her face.

Since she was found out, she might as well stop pretending; after all, at this point, she and Quinn Lockwood were already enemies on the surface.

"Mine wasn’t a deliberate smear, just revealing the facts and your true nature to everyone." Anna raised her face, showcasing a look of indignation and a hint of smugness.

She had plenty of dirt on Quinn Lockwood, whether true or false, those photos deliberately shot to gain attention—Anna’s USB drive was full of them.

"Oh? From the looks of it, you seem quite sure that you can take me down, huh?" Quinn Lockwood raised an eyebrow, watching Anna with interest.

She seems overly confident in herself.

Even if she is my agent, those so-called dirt she holds are merely superficial.

Just like the incident she sold about staying overnight at the hotel with Director Holloway.

Seeing Quinn Lockwood’s contemptuous and disdainful attitude toward her, Anna felt a surge of anger in her chest, her face twisting with resentment.

"I hardly need to make an effort; you’re already being smeared across the internet. Even if you issue a statement or hold a press conference to clarify, it would be useless." A peculiar gleam unfolded in Anna’s eyes, she turned her head to look at Quinn Lockwood, a cold smile lingering at her lips.

Quinn Lockwood covered her mouth, letting out a cold laugh: "Since you say so, why don’t you come to my press conference tomorrow?"

"I was just planning on it; it’s clearly too late to start today, so tomorrow morning it is, at eight o’clock for the press conference."

"I hope you can be on time." Quinn Lockwood curved her lips, sharply locking eyes with Anna.

All her preparations were done; Anna, the puppet master behind the scenes, was the only missing piece.

Quinn Lockwood’s gaze was deep as a timeless well; she was originally troubled about inviting Anna over, but unexpectedly, Anna delivered herself to her doorstep.

"Hmph, I’ll be there, just don’t send someone to stop me from entering!" Anna snorted coldly, her face unable to hide the smug contempt as she smirked.

If Quinn Lockwood really clarifies the matter, she still won’t be afraid.

She had plenty of ways to make it hard for Quinn Lockwood to recover.

Quinn Lockwood said nothing, simply smiled slightly at Anna, her eyes twinkling like stars in the sky.

"Let’s go." She turned slightly and said to Elias Sinclair and Cameron Grant, without glancing at Anna, and left directly.

The matter had come to this, and she felt no need to leave any courtesy for Anna.

Tomorrow, she hoped Anna would fend for herself.

After the three left the company, a wave of fatigue and drowsiness washed over them.

She looked up at the sky, trying to clear her mind, but instead ended up yawning.

No choice, she had spent the whole day busy the day before, and didn’t sleep well last night because Elias Sinclair returned; she felt entirely drained of energy,

Elias Sinclair glanced sideways at Quinn Lockwood, her eyes slightly glistening like spring water shimmering.

He strode to the front of the car to open the passenger door for Quinn Lockwood, a glint in his eye, his handsome face showing no waves.

Cameron Grant then opened the rear car door and got in.

Elias Sinclair sat in the driver’s seat, glancing at the rearview mirror, slightly furrowing his brow.

Quinn Lockwood fell asleep within two minutes of getting in the car, her head nodding as it slid down the seat, her long lashes slightly upturned, trembling like delicate wings, making one hesitant to disturb.

Elias Sinclair drove the car steadily, occasionally glancing sideways, worrying the car’s movements could awaken her.

Quinn Lockwood slept with her little face slightly red, her moist cherry lips plump and inviting.

She lay sideways on the reclined seat, her body slightly curled as she breathed softly, like a cat in a sweet slumber.

After returning to The Sinclair Residence, Elias Sinclair and Cameron Grant got out of the car almost simultaneously.

They both, with tacit understanding, walked to the passenger door, reaching to open it.

Their hands were less than a second apart in pulling the handle.

As Cameron Grant’s hand touched Elias Sinclair’s, Elias’s brow slightly furrowed.

His gaze coldly flickered toward Cameron Grant, then he withdrew his hand and used the key to open the door.

Cameron Grant’s clear gaze held a hint of chill, his smile already faded, pushing the door open with the automatic door mechanism.

He was about to extend his hand to pick up Quinn Lockwood, but was subtly blocked by Elias Sinclair.

"Your car is parked over there." Elias Sinclair lowered his eyes, skillfully lifting Quinn Lockwood in his arms, speaking in a deep, cold tone to Cameron Grant.

Cameron Grant’s gazed at the lifted Quinn Lockwood, his eyes growing deep, feeling a void in his heart.

Elias Sinclair’s long narrow eyes measured Cameron Grant, seemingly with scrutiny and sharpness, then quickly withdrew his gaze, turned and walked away with an icy, aloof aura.

Cameron Grant stood in place without moving.

Suddenly a cold wind blew, sweeping the bangs on the man’s forehead, leaving them slightly disheveled across his brow.

His features were beautiful as painted, his brows neither heavy nor light, stark as stars, the sunset’s glow cast upon him, leaving him reminiscent of a fallen angel, but his gaze carried a hint of detachment, his silhouette a touch lonely.
