CHAPTER 387: CHAPTER 387: PROPER NOURISHMENT

Quinn Lockwood heard a few teasing voices from the computer, and her face flushed red.

What... what’s going on?

She stood up and walked around the computer desk, standing beside Elias Sinclair, bending down to take a peek at the computer screen.

What? He’s actually having a video meeting!

"Alright, you all also go have dinner soon, meeting’s over." Elias Sinclair’s eyes and brows revealed a subtle pleasure as he said this calmly, then turned off the video.

Quinn Lockwood felt extremely embarrassed, standing there awkwardly and stiffly, dropping her head to hide her unnatural expression.

"You were actually in a meeting, oh no, then they must have heard everything!" Quinn Lockwood sulked, lowering her head for a moment before suddenly lifting it, pouting as she whimpered.

Elias Sinclair chuckled softly, his deep and bright eyes fixed on Quinn Lockwood, lightly sparkling, finding her reaction immensely amusing.

He uncrossed his long legs, stood up, walked towards Quinn Lockwood, and gently patted her head: "It doesn’t matter if they heard it, they’re all my friends, I’ll introduce them to you later."

Quinn Lockwood continued to pout, her face still blushing.

Reflecting on the words she had blurted out earlier, Quinn Lockwood felt incredibly embarrassed, wondering how she could have talked about her and Elias Sinclair’s everyday things with others, including her picky eating and the broken rice cooker.

"Ah, so embarrassing." Quinn Lockwood sniffed, covering her face and burying her head in Elias Sinclair’s chest, indulging in her own ’melancholy’.

Elias Sinclair held Quinn Lockwood in his arms, gently patting her back, his expression full of warmth and affection.

"Not embarrassing, it’s okay." He lowered his head, speaking softly and gently in Quinn Lockwood’s ear, his voice soothing and calm.

Quinn Lockwood swayed her head, feeling the warm temperature of Elias Sinclair’s chest and the slight warm breath by her ear, only then realizing what she was doing.

"Um, the dishes, the dishes are getting cold, let’s eat, I’m fine now." Quinn Lockwood quickly lifted her head, feeling a bit anxious, her face which had just calmed down started blushing again.

Elias Sinclair seeing Quinn Lockwood’s shyness, slightly furrowed his brows, feeling somewhat helpless.

When will my wife be able to calmly accept my closeness?

"Yeah, let’s eat, let me taste my wife’s cooking today." Elias Sinclair smiled, leading Quinn Lockwood to the sofa.

He carefully observed the dishes, and upon seeing the bright orange carrot among the black bean sauce, his expression froze.

Quinn Lockwood noticed Elias Sinclair’s brows furrowing into a shallow mark, her gaze slightly flashing, speaking with a bit of sternness: "Carrots are for supplementing vitamins, don’t disdain them!"

Elias Sinclair glanced at Quinn Lockwood, suddenly seeming to think of something, his gaze falling on Quinn Lockwood with a hint of mischief.

"Wife, I think you need to supplement your nutrition properly." Elias Sinclair’s smile deepened with humor, speaking leisurely.

Quinn Lockwood froze slightly, looking down at her chest and stomach, her face immediately turning red.

"Elias Sinclair, you..." Quinn Lockwood abruptly lifted her head, looking at Elias Sinclair like a frantic little kitten, just as she uttered a few words, Elias Sinclair stuffed a piece of carrot into her mouth.

"You’re too skinny and malnourished, you need to eat well." Elias Sinclair was all smiles, gently ruffling Quinn Lockwood’s hair, as if soothing her emotions.

Quinn Lockwood chewed the carrot while muttering unclearly towards Elias Sinclair, as light shone on Elias Sinclair’s face from the side.

The man’s prominent nose cast a perfect curve, his deep narrow eyes shimmering with laughter, yet with a hint of tenderness, making Quinn Lockwood feel as if she was submerged in warm, cozy sand, leaving all her temper behind.

"The taste seems good, today I probably won’t come over for dinner delivery, in the afternoon I plan to think about opening a studio." Quinn Lockwood took another piece of carrot, gently speaking to Elias Sinclair about why she couldn’t deliver dinner, to avoid this man’s domineering insistence.

"You want to open a studio?" Elias Sinclair placed a piece of fish in Quinn Lockwood’s bowl, then turned to look at her and asked.

Quinn Lockwood hurriedly nodded, her eyes sparkling, seemingly saying: "I really have things to do in the afternoon, not deliberately skipping dinner delivery."

"Where’s the address? I have some things to handle in the afternoon, I’ll let Kevin go over to help first." Elias Sinclair’s voice was leisurely and soothing, although still low-pitched, it felt inexplicably soft and comforting to Quinn Lockwood.

Better not trouble Kevin, with Joyce Kramer’s dismissal, Elias Sinclair must have many things needing assistance here, right?

Quinn Lockwood shook her head, placed the fish from her bowl into her mouth, chewed a few times slowly, and said: "No need, no need, my brother’s helping out there, we have enough hands."

After taking a piece of green bamboo shoot, Quinn Lockwood suddenly felt the air beside her turn cold, stopping her actions and looking towards Elias Sinclair.

Seeing his face had turned somewhat somber, brows lowered, his gaze gradually deepening.

"Do you think Kevin or I would get in the way?" Elias Sinclair slightly lifted his eyelids, his low voice tinged with a strange tone, making Quinn Lockwood’s heart start to feel anxious.

What’s up with this guy, suddenly changing color, asking such a question?

Though she said Kevin didn’t need to help, she never claimed he’d be in the way!

Quinn Lockwood found Elias Sinclair a bit odd, unsure what she said wrong, patiently explaining: "No, I didn’t mean that."

"Because I’ve just established the studio, there aren’t many things to prepare, it’s not very large, so no need for you and Kevin’s help."

She smiled softly at Elias Sinclair, with a gentle look as if coaxing a child, continuing: "You have a lot of things to deal with daily, these days you’re coming home late, if you still help me prepare studio stuff, you might not get home until dawn!"

Elias Sinclair’s expression finally softened slightly, picking up a piece of green bamboo shoot to chew, lightly nodding.

Yet just as Quinn Lockwood spoke the following sentence, his expression turned dark again, as if ink could drip from it.

"Besides, my brother has completed most of the preliminary work, leaving me only decisions to make, not consuming much physical effort."
