Rebirth of the Movie Queen: Mrs. Sinclair, Please Hug Me!
Chapter 456: Changed Perspective
CHAPTER 456: CHAPTER 456: CHANGED PERSPECTIVE
Although Quinn Lockwood did not keep long nails, her skin was so tender that where her nails scratched left red marks, strikingly contrasting with her fair complexion, looking quite alarming.
"Are you allergic? To what food?" The man’s scrutinizing gaze landed on Quinn Lockwood, his brows already knitted tightly together.
He went over the events of this morning in his mind, and the only plausible explanation for Quinn Lockwood’s current condition is an allergy.
The only food Quinn Lockwood consumed this morning was breakfast.
"Crab roe?" The man saw Quinn Lockwood’s evasive gaze and, receiving no answer, felt even more certain of his conclusion.
The only thing Quinn Lockwood doesn’t frequently eat is crab roe; the other foods she consumes regularly.
"It’s okay, it will pass soon." Quinn Lockwood took a deep breath, hoping to alleviate the itchiness on her body.
She must stop scratching; otherwise, she would be disfigured for the film crew, although the allergic spots aren’t on her face, her neck, and arms would inevitably be exposed while filming.
"You know you’re allergic to crab roe, so why..." Elias Sinclair’s gaze fell on Quinn Lockwood’s arm, although his expression was dark and frightening, his eyes were filled with concern.
Before Elias Sinclair could finish his sentence, Quinn Lockwood stepped forward and grabbed his arm: "It’s fine, don’t worry."
"The sandwich was specially prepared by mom, I didn’t want her efforts to be wasted."
"Plus, my allergies self-heal, the itch lasts for just a while, about half an hour or so and I will recover." Quinn Lockwood said, unconsciously tightening her grip on Elias Sinclair’s arm, clearly struggling to endure the despairing discomfort.
Elias Sinclair’s deep eyes were as dark as night, he lifted his hand wanting to touch Quinn Lockwood’s reddened arm but hesitated, then lowered it.
"Take Mrs. Lockwood to the medical base, find Angus." Elias Sinclair gestured to the bodyguards behind him, indicating for them to escort Quinn Lockwood away.
It’s not that Elias Sinclair doesn’t care about Quinn Lockwood, rather he was about to attend a high-level meeting with his father for the Group, sending Quinn Lockwood to the medical base to see Angus, that was already the highest level of care.
The medical base is equipped with the country’s most advanced medical equipment and resources, such simple allergies can be traced back to the root source in mere minutes for treatment and control.
This is also the secret base for Sinclair’s medical and biological experiments.
"I’m fine, no need to go." Quinn Lockwood waved her hand, looking at the several black-suited bodyguards walking towards her, suddenly feeling a bit panicked.
Judging by the scene, it seemed like she was being sent to do experiments!
"Go for a checkup to see if there’s anything else causing allergies, after it’s over I’ll arrange for Kevin to pick you up, don’t be afraid." The man’s large hand gently ruffled Quinn Lockwood’s hair, his voice laced with a clean and soothing, reassuring strength.
"Okay..." Quinn Lockwood seemed to lose her ability to think, Elias Sinclair’s voice flowed like a gentle stream, making her sink, like a green leaf floating on spring waters.
Strangely, Quinn Lockwood got into the special car for the medical base, surrounded by bodyguards.
"Elias..."
Just when Elias Sinclair turned around to get into his car, Mrs. Sinclair appeared with a few documents from the side.
She had been standing behind the fountain, having overheard everything Elias Sinclair and Quinn Lockwood said.
"Your father just called to ask you to bring these documents over, glad you hadn’t left yet." Mrs. Sinclair handed the documents to Elias Sinclair, her gaze flickering unnaturally.
"Where’s Savannah?" Mrs. Sinclair searched around, as she saw the car heading out the gates towards the medical base, her fingers at her side curled slightly.
That child feared her disappointment, so she even ate the crab roe sandwich that would cause her allergies...
"It’s fine, I’m sending her over for a checkup, recently she’s been overworked." Elias Sinclair opened the car door and placed the documents inside, his gaze subtly directed towards the gate, his brows furrowing slightly.
It was his first time discovering something that could cause this woman an allergy.
"Oh, as long as she’s okay."
"Well, you go ahead, I’ll buy some health supplements for Savannah soon, you should advise her not to work too hard." Mrs. Sinclair patted Elias Sinclair’s shoulder, aware her son had not told her the truth.
Perhaps fearing she’d worry, or not wanting her to misunderstand Savannah.
Regardless of the reason, Mrs. Sinclair knew Quinn Lockwood’s allergy was due to her.
Thinking of what Quinn Lockwood just said, a warm feeling surged in Mrs. Sinclair’s heart.
This child is really... quite considerate.
Although Quinn Lockwood is the mistress of The Sinclair Family, due to the secretive nature of the medical base, the car windows were entirely blacked-out, making incoming or outgoing routes invisible.
Elias Sinclair personally called Angus, instructing him to conduct a good checkup for Quinn Lockwood, our renowned medical professor initially thought it was something earth-shattering like a pregnancy.
In the end, it was just an allergy!
Angus nearly went mad! As a professor, he left half-completed experiments only to check an allergen???!
Fortunately, it turned out Quinn Lockwood wasn’t in any serious condition, merely allergic to crab-based foods.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Sinclair tidied up her room and really planned to head out and buy some health supplements for Quinn Lockwood.
Judging from her observations over the past two days, her son and Quinn Lockwood were indeed quite fond of each other, yet these two kids have been married for over a year and a half and there’s still not a hint about grandchildren.
Mrs. Sinclair did a simple analysis; one reason is her son is too busy, the other must be Quinn Lockwood’s frail body.
She recalled seeing Savannah Lowell a year ago and didn’t remember her being this thin, yet this time upon return, the child seemed much thinner, nearly 5’7" tall and barely weighing 90 lbs, honestly too frail.
Mrs. Sinclair roughly listed what she needed for shopping out, midway she received a call from Melody Shepherd.
"Auntie, are you busy? I’m not too engaged today, shall we go out for some late morning tea?" Melody Shepherd was currently sitting in her Elaria-styled café, with her laptop out for work.
"Oh, it’s Maya, I was planning a trip out."
"How about you accompany me to pick up a few things first, then we have a chat?" Mrs. Sinclair marked out potential health supplements with a red pen.
