Rebirth of the Movie Queen: Mrs. Sinclair, Please Hug Me!
Chapter 466: Taking a Life
CHAPTER 466: CHAPTER 466: TAKING A LIFE
Sure enough, after Elias Sinclair made the nth call, a cell phone flew out of the window of the car in front.
Although the phone was crushed by a trailing vehicle, Elias Sinclair still recognized it at a glance. It was the custom phone he designed for Quinn Lockwood.
If the ripples of doubt were merely brewing, Elias Sinclair was now in complete frenzy.
At this moment, he felt as if he was being swallowed by the waves, an unprecedented sense of helplessness seized him, causing him to feel utterly alarmed.
"Stop the car!" Elias Sinclair chased the vehicle until it entered a secluded wasteland.
He slammed on the gas pedal, then turned the steering wheel several times, positioning his car to block the van horizontally.
"Who are you?" The people in the van found themselves unexpectedly blocked but remained inside, cautiously rolling down the window to spar with Elias Sinclair.
"Release her." The man approached the van, his expression was cold and ghostly like he emerged from the night, his deep eyes shot fierce hostility.
The men inside the van were slightly startled, but before they could react, Elias Sinclair kicked the car door with a loud bang, creating a dent in the already battered door.
"Boss..." Two men in the back restrained Quinn Lockwood, covering her mouth and restraining her legs, preventing her from making any noise or movement.
The man driving in front waved his hand, motioning them to release Quinn Lockwood, then a rough voice erupted: "Just a lone sacrificial lamb, kill him too."
"Yes!"
There were five men in the car, all wearing the same black uniforms, with faint tattoos resembling tiger patterns visible on their arms.
"You’re looking for this wench, aren’t you?" The man referred to as boss got out of the car, despising Elias Sinclair’s solitary arrival, curling his lips in disdain.
He snapped his fingers, and then Quinn Lockwood was pulled out of the car by two subordinates, her hood removed.
"Mmm..." Having been in darkness all along and now in the deep nighttime wilderness with no lights, Quinn Lockwood could easily see the people in front of her.
Upon seeing Elias Sinclair, tears inexplicably rushed to her eyes, soon replaced by deep concern.
"What do you want?" The moment he saw Quinn Lockwood, the man’s hands in his pockets clenched tightly, his heartbeat slightly accelerating.
He intended to rush directly over to rescue Quinn Lockwood, but given the setup and the positioning of the five men, the chances of success were almost zero.
It’s not that leaving Quinn Lockwood behind had zero chances, but Elias Sinclair could not ensure Quinn Lockwood would remain unharmed.
The leader raised his eyebrows in surprise at Elias Sinclair’s words, then laughed loudly: "Haha, wanting something? I lack nothing."
"Just doing a favor for a benefactor by taking this woman’s life."
When the leader spoke of taking the name, a flash of viciousness exploded in his eyes. He raised a hand signaling the men behind him: "Move."
As the words fell, Quinn Lockwood was kicked onto her knees by two men, their savage actions ignoring gender, solely driven to kill her.
Meanwhile, Elias Sinclair was unable to control his actions. The rooms in his mind designed to regulate his rationality and strategy seemed locked behind multiple barriers, now he only relied on instinctive reactions to protect Quinn Lockwood.
"Back off, don’t touch her!" Elias moved swiftly past the leading man and delivered a fierce kick to the area controlling his vitals.
Elias Sinclair had undergone professional combat training, easily predicting the next moves and directions of amateurs, as well as delivering powerful counteractions.
But these men seemed to be not classified as amateurs.
Though their actions were not agile or swift, their fierce decisiveness indicated they had undergone systemized training.
"Don’t be afraid!" Elias Sinclair ruthlessly twisted the arms of two men in black, taking advantage of the moment to pull Quinn Lockwood into his embrace.
The man’s tall and upright figure shielded Quinn Lockwood entirely, then raised his hand to grasp the wrist of a charging man in black.
With a crunching sound, a piercing painful howl filled the air.
"The phone is in my pocket, make a call to the police, they should be part of some organization, I’m not particularly confident about getting you out unscathed." Elias Sinclair tossed the man aside and turned to unbind the ropes on Quinn Lockwood’s hands.
"Activate the GPS location, soon there will be bodyguards arriving to assist." Elias Sinclair handed the phone to Quinn Lockwood, forcefully gripping her shoulder, then pushed her to the side.
Quinn Lockwood hadn’t completely gathered her thoughts yet; she glanced at a few black-clad men on the ground striving to get up, biting her lip hard.
She didn’t want to leave Elias Sinclair.
But... she knew standing there would only burden him; she had no choice but to grit her teeth and cautiously move backward, while activating her phone’s location alert system.
This system, developed specially by The Sinclair Family for protecting its head, would summon professional mercenary-level bodyguards to assist once activated.
"You’re somewhat skilled."
"You’ve pissed me off, tonight both you and this woman will die here." The leader’s face was insidiously cruel, he spat to the side, then removed his coat.
Crack.
The surrounding air echoed a friction sound, it sounded eerie yet familiar to Quinn Lockwood, seemingly dangerous.
Right as she activated the alert system, someone abruptly pulled her from behind.
"Careful." Elias Sinclair’s low voice resonated in her ear, instantly followed by a loud bang.
It was a gunshot.
The friction sound... was the sound of loading a bullet.
"Is this all you got?" Behind her, the leader’s rough voice resounded again, he seemed a bit pleased, his tone inflected with mocking laughter.
Quinn Lockwood was held tightly by Elias Sinclair from behind; she sensed his body growing heavier, his breath becoming increasingly urgent by her ear.
"Elias Sinclair... you..." A terrifying thought flashed through Quinn Lockwood’s mind; she raised her hand to clutch Elias Sinclair’s arm tightly, her tense heart felt like it would leap out.
"I’m fine, don’t worry." Elias Sinclair’s breathing accelerated, his voice was low and hoarse, as if enduring severe pain.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Three more shots resounded from behind, the leader fired into the sky with his gun.
