Rebirth of the Movie Queen: Mrs. Sinclair, Please Hug Me!
Chapter 47: Accepting Criticism with Humility
CHAPTER 47: CHAPTER 47: ACCEPTING CRITICISM WITH HUMILITY
The director immediately explained that the Lockwood Family heiress was being excessively polite; he would never dare say her acting was bad, besides, the issue wasn’t her fault in this scene.
"No worries, as long as it’s not my problem. But for everyone’s benefit, I would still ask the director to openly point out the fundamental problems in this scene, which is also beneficial for the actors’ improvement."
Ariana Lynch spoke with a gentle tone, without complaining about Quinn Lockwood’s acting, but after speaking, she subconsciously glanced at Quinn.
Seeing this, due to Ariana’s status, combined with the multiple previous NGs, the director was also burning with anger, "Savannah Lowell, come here."
Hearing this, Quinn Lockwood was at first stunned, then walked over.
"Director, what’s wrong?"
Although she sounded puzzled, she had already guessed the purpose behind the director’s summon.
"What happened earlier? Do you want the entire cast to wait for you in every scene? Can you put in some effort? If your acting isn’t up to par, you should study more. Bring your emotions into it, don’t act like a robot. Do you understand?"
The director, with a displeased face, angrily scolded Quinn Lockwood.
The scolding came suddenly, and Quinn blinked her eyes; she knew the director was here because of this matter.
After the director finished, Ariana Lynch raised her eyebrows, as if expecting a show.
However, Quinn Lockwood’s subsequent performance disappointed Ariana Lynch.
"I’m sorry, Director, it’s my fault. I’ll pay attention to what you said and work hard to get it right next time, so we won’t waste everyone’s time again. Please trust me one more time."
Quinn Lockwood looked at the director with sincere eyes and a face full of apology.
Everyone present was shocked. Although they expected Quinn Lockwood wouldn’t talk back, they didn’t expect her to humbly accept the director’s criticism and be so sincere in her attitude.
Seeing the eyes of those around her, the light in Ariana Lynch’s eyes gradually dimmed and became sharp as she angrily clenched her fists.
She initially thought Quinn Lockwood would make a big fuss, so everyone could laugh at her. She didn’t expect Quinn to defuse the situation easily and even make people look at her with newfound respect.
She indeed underestimated her.
"Alright, everyone get ready, we’re continuing immediately." The director didn’t expect Quinn Lockwood to say something like this, so he decided not to confront a smiling person and neither ignored nor continued the criticism, instead quickly changing the subject.
The crew resumed the intense filming, and this time, Quinn Lockwood smoothly completed the take.
...
Elsewhere, after Freya Caldwell hit a wall with Elias Sinclair, she turned her attention to Quinn Lockwood, running to the set to find her.
Just at the moment when it was Ariana Lynch’s solo scene, Quinn Lockwood prepared to go to the bathroom, only to be stopped by Freya Caldwell.
"You’re Savannah Lowell, right? I’ve seen you on TV before."
"And you are?"
Quinn looked puzzled at the young girl before her, unable to remember if Savannah Lowell had ever met her; she had no impression whatsoever.
"You’ve heard of the Caldwell Group, right? That’s my dad’s company. I’m telling you, Elias doesn’t like you; if you have any self-awareness, hurry up and divorce him."
Speaking of her family background, Freya Caldwell’s face was full of pride. In her eyes, Savannah Lowell was just a small actress; she was even more justified in her assertion.
Hearing this, Quinn Lockwood helplessly shook her head. So this was a young lady with a crush on Elias Sinclair. She had to admit, Elias truly appealed to people of all ages, attracting every kind of person.
But it’s just as well; she was anxious to divorce him too.
However, due to the acting issue bothering her now, Quinn Lockwood didn’t want to deal with things that disturbed her peace of mind, so she ignored it and walked straight into the restroom.
Freya Caldwell felt that Quinn Lockwood hadn’t paid attention to what she said at all, angrily stomping her feet. However, she couldn’t follow her into the bathroom to argue, so she left cursing.
The Sinclair Group office.
Joyce Kramer was, as always, neat and professional. She took a few steps to stand in front of Elias Sinclair and handed him a file, "President Sinclair, the project on the west side of the city, please review it."
After handing it over, Joyce didn’t hurry to leave because she knew Elias Sinclair well enough to predict that he would give her some instructions shortly.
Elias Sinclair acknowledged, opened the file, glanced it over, and then, seemingly thoughtful, quickly signed his name at the bottom and handed the file back to Joyce Kramer, "You take full charge of this project."
"Alright."
Joyce Kramer took the file and nodded.
Joyce understood Elias’s actions fully; after all, the west side city project involved negotiating with the Caldwell Group, and since Freya Caldwell had been incessantly entangled with him, to avoid suspicion and unnecessary trouble, Joyce would have to handle it.
The Caldwell Group’s reception room.
Freya Caldwell had already heard that the Sinclair Group was coming to negotiate cooperation, so she arrived at the company early, excitedly waiting for Elias Sinclair’s arrival.
"Dad, why are they still not here?"
Having waited a long time without seeing Elias Sinclair, Freya pouted at Preston Caldwell, acting spoilt.
"They’ll be here soon."
Preston Caldwell glanced at his watch; there were still two minutes until the scheduled time, so technically the other party wasn’t late. He couldn’t rush them, lest it appear undignified.
As for his daughter’s impatience, he merely assumed she had suddenly realized she needed to learn how to do business. Yet being impatient was typical of his daughter, so there was nothing unusual about her saying such things. He didn’t think much of it and even felt a bit gratified.
After all, Freya Caldwell was rebellious by nature, and she never listened to adults at home. He had tried countless times to make her return to help out in the company, so he hadn’t expected her to comply so readily this time.
"Mr. Caldwell, they’re here."
Their minds each wandering, they were deep in thought when the secretary came in, followed by Joyce Kramer with her assistant.
"I’m sorry Mr. Caldwell, to have kept you waiting."
As soon as she entered, Joyce Kramer nodded slightly to Preston Caldwell to express her apology.
"No problem."
Preston Caldwell smiled, shaking his head slightly, exuding a businesslike demeanor typical of a CEO.
"I am the person in charge of this project for The Sinclair Group, Joyce Kramer."
While introducing herself, Joyce Kramer extended her hand with a smile.
"Miss Kramer, you’re already well-known around President Sinclair, no introduction needed indeed."
Preston Caldwell shook her hand, then gestured for her to sit, "Please, have a seat."
Meanwhile, Freya Caldwell stared intently at the door, disappointed once she confirmed Elias Sinclair hadn’t shown up.
"Why didn’t Elias come?" Freya Caldwell asked, displeased. He knew it was a deal with her family, yet deliberately stayed away. Clearly, he was avoiding her.
Upon hearing this, Joyce Kramer paused briefly and casually fabricated an excuse, "President Sinclair has some family matters that he absolutely couldn’t step away from."
Family matters?
Freya Caldwell frowned, could it be because of Savannah Lowell?
