Rebirth of the Movie Queen: Mrs. Sinclair, Please Hug Me!
Chapter 51: Creating Opportunities
CHAPTER 51: CHAPTER 51: CREATING OPPORTUNITIES
Hearing this, Quinn Lockwood felt as happy as a child inside, although she didn’t show it, Wendy Sherman watched her leave.
Quinn Lockwood returned to the Lowell Family, so hungry that her stomach was growling, but it wasn’t time for dinner yet, so she had to snack to fill up.
Mrs. Lowell saw her daughter looking exhausted and thought she might have been bullied by someone. Worried, she quickly stepped forward and asked, "Savannah, what’s wrong?"
Earlier when Quinn Lockwood left, Mrs. Lowell called Mr. Lowell to say good morning sweetly, but accidentally learned that he was talking about a collaboration with Elias Sinclair.
Of course, Quinn Lockwood wouldn’t go to Elias Sinclair. If she did, Mr. Lowell would surely inform her, so where did she go?
Mrs. Lowell worriedly watched Quinn Lockwood devouring food like this. Could it be that after being rejected by Elias Sinclair, she started indulging herself and overeating?
"I’m fine, just a bit hungry, having some snacks to tide me over."
Quinn Lockwood casually munched on snacks, fetching a drink from the fridge, unaware of what Mrs. Lowell was thinking.
"Where did you go all day long?"
Mrs. Lowell cautiously probed. She didn’t want Savannah to become the way she used to be, defiant and ignoring her.
"I went to visit a senior and asked about acting methods there."
Quinn Lockwood answered seriously, but after a few seconds, she realized something and frowned, asking back, "Wait, Mom, I told you this morning, didn’t I?"
Mrs. Lowell froze instantly, "Oh~ really? I might have forgotten."
It seems she really hasn’t visited Elias Sinclair. It’s been days without a stir. Could it be she truly cut all ties with him?
Initially hesitant, Mrs. Lowell now seemed convinced that Quinn Lockwood indeed decided not to return to The Sinclair Family.
"Weren’t you hungry? I’ve asked Mrs. Lewis to prepare some food. You can rest in your room, I’ll call you when it’s ready."
Mrs. Lowell’s eyes spun around as if she was pondering something, then she promptly changed the subject.
"Okay, thank you, Mom."
Quinn Lockwood didn’t notice anything odd. A day’s practice left her tired, so she turned into her room.
After seeing Quinn Lockwood enter the room, Mrs. Lowell immediately took out her phone and sent Mr. Lowell a message. After explaining the situation, she instructed him to bring Elias Sinclair back for dinner.
Since neither of these stubborn kids was making a move, they could only create an opportunity for them.
Once agreeing with each other, Mr. Lowell quickly took action. After the meeting, Mr. Lowell stopped Elias Sinclair.
"Elias, do you have plans tonight?"
Elias Sinclair paused and shook his head.
"In that case, come back home with Dad for dinner tonight. You haven’t been back in a while, join Dad for a drink."
After speaking, Mr. Lowell looked at Elias Sinclair expectantly. He couldn’t afford to fail his wife’s task.
"Okay." After thinking it over, Elias Sinclair replied lightly.
Despite not liking Savannah Lowell, they were married after all. Besides, the families were long-time friends; he had no reason to reject Mr. Lowell’s offer.
Upon hearing this, Mr. Lowell silently sent Mrs. Lowell a message, "OK."
On this end, Mrs. Lowell asked Mrs. Lewis to serve the dishes and knocked on Quinn Lockwood’s room door.
"Savannah, come out for dinner."
Upon hearing that, Quinn Lockwood immediately came out; she had been looking forward to it.
Approaching the dining table, facing a table full of delicacies, Quinn Lockwood felt her stomach grumbling even more. One odd thing was, there were no chopsticks on the table.
Quinn Lockwood looked puzzled at Mrs. Lowell, "Mom, why aren’t there any chopsticks?"
"Wait till everyone arrives, it won’t take long to start eating."
Mrs. Lowell said with a smile, knowing it indeed wouldn’t take long from the company to home.
Quinn Lockwood frowned, "Is Dad coming back for dinner today?"
"Besides your Dad, there’s another guest." Mrs. Lowell deliberately didn’t spell it out, wanting to surprise her daughter.
A guest?
As Quinn Lockwood was still puzzled, she heard the door opening.
Thinking her father returned, she joyfully looked over to the door, only to see, besides Mr. Lowell and Cameron Grant, Elias Sinclair was also there. Her gaze instantly dimmed.
Mrs. Lowell’s so-called guest was him after all.
"Ah, you’re finally back, Elias please come in." Mrs. Lowell joyfully invited Elias Sinclair inside, instructing Mrs. Lewis to serve the chopsticks.
At the dining table, Mr. Lowell took the head seat, Elias Sinclair sat next to Quinn Lockwood, opposite sat Mrs. Lowell and Cameron Grant.
Quinn Lockwood focused solely on eating her bowl of food, ignoring Elias Sinclair.
Seeing the awkward atmosphere, Mr. and Mrs. Lowell exchanged glances, unsure of what to do.
"Come, Elias, try this soup, it’s very nutritious."
Mrs. Lowell couldn’t bear it anymore, she broke the ice first, serving Elias Sinclair a bowl of soup and glanced at Quinn Lockwood, purposely saying, "Savannah, take this to Elias."
She purposely created an opportunity for their interaction.
For a moment, everyone’s eyes were on Quinn Lockwood. Though Elias Sinclair wasn’t showing it, inside he found it deserved.
After a long pause, Quinn Lockwood still didn’t respond.
Mrs. Lowell was left hanging awkwardly, forced to smile wryly, slowly placing the bowl in front of Elias Sinclair.
Quinn Lockwood’s indifferent attitude made Elias Sinclair’s emotions more complex, inexplicably irritable, even he didn’t know why.
"Ahem ahem."
Seeing this, Mrs. Lowell intentionally coughed to catch Mr. Lowell’s attention. Mr. Lowell looked at her puzzledly, Mrs. Lowell pointed at Elias Sinclair and Quinn Lockwood and gave Mr. Lowell a look.
Mr. Lowell understood immediately, "Oh, I suddenly remembered Director Warren gifted me a bottle of limited edition wine, let me fetch it."
He said as he got up to leave, then as if he suddenly forgot something, he said to Mrs. Lowell, "I forgot where I put it, accompany me to find it?"
"Alright."
Mrs. Lowell agreed happily, and in the blink of an eye, the two of them vanished.
The dining table instantly left only Quinn Lockwood and Elias Sinclair, facing each other.
Quinn Lockwood couldn’t help but shake her head helplessly inside, Mrs. Lowell was being too obvious, clearly creating an opportunity for them to be alone.
Elias Sinclair didn’t mind too much. Savannah Lowell always loved scenarios like this, maybe she even arranged for the parents to act along.
He was here to see what exactly this woman, sending the elderly away, wanted to do.
Yet what followed left Elias Sinclair disappointed. Quinn Lockwood, besides eating her meal unhurriedly, made no other moves, she didn’t even look straight at Elias Sinclair.
Elias Sinclair’s heart was a mixture of emotions, mostly confusion. Once upon a time, he was never treated like this by Savannah Lowell, and the mental contrast was significant.
After a while, Mr. and Mrs. Lowell returned laughingly holding the wine, yet finding the two of them still hadn’t made any advances.
