CHAPTER 52: CHAPTER 52: HE’S STAYING HERE!

After dinner, Elias Sinclair said goodbye to Mr. and Mrs. Lowell and prepared to leave. Mr. and Mrs. Lowell exchanged glances and then, in agreement, stepped forward to stop him,

"Elias, you’ve finally come over; why not stay the night?"

Elias paused, not expecting to be asked to stay, and then shook his head, "I wouldn’t want to disturb you."

"What are you saying? How is this a disturbance? Coming to your in-laws’ home should be something casual. Besides, you and Savannah haven’t seen each other for a while; it’s good for you two to talk. Don’t make us elders worry,"

Mrs. Lowell said earnestly.

Seeing Elias not react, Mr. Lowell pretended to be angry and assisted, "Do you look down on us? Can’t you give us this bit of respect?"

At this moment, suddenly because of Mr. and Mrs. Lowell’s decision, Quinn Lockwood, who had been frowning, finally couldn’t hold it in and expressed clear reluctance in her tone.

She blurted out, "No way!"

Mr. Lowell looked at her with displeasure, "Savannah, what do you mean by this?"

Quinn was stunned and then realized that she had reacted too strongly, so she swallowed her saliva and feigned calmness, "Ahem, um, what I meant was that Elias has been really busy recently. Our home is farther from The Sinclair Group than Sinclair Manor. I think it’s better to let him go back; after all, it’s not good for a big boss to be late..."

Anyway, Elias disliked her that much, he probably wouldn’t agree.

Thinking this, Quinn quickly winked at Elias, signaling him to refuse.

Seeing him not respond for a while, Quinn thought she hadn’t expressed it clearly, so she added, "Besides, Elias is used to his own bed, and staying here wouldn’t be comfortable for him, right, Elias?"

The last few words were almost said through gritted teeth.

However, looking at the twitching corners of her eyes and her obvious rejection, an inexplicable emotion crossed Elias’s heart.

He quietly watched Quinn ’twitching’, and just when she couldn’t hold it any longer, he opened his thin lips and uttered words that almost drove Quinn to breakdown.

"I’m not particular about beds."

Quinn: "..."

Mrs. Lowell’s face lit up with delight, "Elias means he can stay!" She nudged the nearby frozen-faced Quinn, "What’re you thinking, Savannah? Why don’t you prepare the room? I’ll have someone bring you a pillow."

"Two pillows? My room?"

Quinn looked at Mrs. Lowell in confusion. Were they going to let Elias stay in the same room with her?

"You and Elias are husband and wife; of course, you’ll share a room."

Mrs. Lowell secretly laughed to herself. She couldn’t believe sparks of love wouldn’t fly now.

"No, this can’t be; I don’t agree!"

Quinn’s reaction was extremely intense. There was no way she could share a room with Elias.

"You’re being childish. Elias hasn’t said anything, has he? Elias, do you agree?" Seeing Quinn so resistant, Mrs. Lowell turned to Elias.

Elias had intended to respond, but seeing Quinn’s resistance, he felt uncomfortable and, against his better judgment, nodded and didn’t refuse.

Quinn looked at him in surprise, wondering what he was trying to do.

"See, that’s settled then. The room is ready, you should rest early."

Mrs. Lowell said, pushing them into the room.

With the door closed, Quinn was in shock for a long time, unable to comprehend why he agreed to stay and share a room. Didn’t he despise Savannah the most?

Outside, Cameron Grant handed the couple a cup of water, pondering over it, he finally spoke, "Dad, Mom, you should stop meddling with Savannah and Elias’s affairs. After all, only they can resolve their issues."

Hearing this, Mrs. Lowell frowned, "These two kids are at such an impasse now. We can’t help but worry."

"Exactly. We can’t have Savannah having any more incidents,"

Mr. Lowell echoed. Ever since Savannah threatened to jump off Sinclair Manor’s balcony, Mr. and Mrs. Lowell had been on edge, fearing she might do something extreme again.

So, they started trying to reconcile her with Elias, hoping it would ease their worries.

Cameron saw their resolve and said nothing more.

Inside the room, Elias ignored Quinn, lying directly on the bed, uncaring of her thoughts since the situation couldn’t change now. It was better to just accept it.

Besides, wasn’t staying together something she dreamt of? Why pretend?

Seeing Elias being so inconsiderate, Quinn instantly got angry, "Get off, that’s my bed."

"Tonight you sleep on the floor,"

Elias said coldly.

Hearing this, Quinn found it amusing. She directly rushed to Elias’s side, pushing him while saying, "What nonsense are you talking about? This is my room. If anyone’s sleeping on the floor, it’s you. Get down."

Elias wasn’t easily defeated, and they began shoving each other. Looking at Savannah’s face so close, his dark eyes deepened.

A trace of doubt flashed across.

"Ah, what are you doing?"

Quinn exclaimed in surprise, not yet reacting when Elias suddenly pinned her down with a firm "bed wall slam."

Under Quinn’s shocked gaze, Elias suddenly leaned down ambiguously next to her ear, though his tone carried an imperceptible mockery.

"Didn’t you always want to climb into my bed? Why are you reacting so strongly now?"

Elias squinted his eyes suddenly, a hint of probing at the corners: "Makes me even wonder if you are really Savannah."

Fear swept over Quinn’s heart, intense panic engulfing her mind. Could he have sensed something?

After all, with someone like Elias, if he hadn’t noticed anything, that would be strange!

What to do? What to do!

Just when Quinn was about to crack, a cunning gleam appeared in her clear eyes.

Under Elias’s bewildered gaze, Quinn suddenly hooked her arms around his neck, her previously anxious expression turning enticing, even carrying a hint of eagerness.

"Oh, what are you saying? I was just being a little reserved, worried you’d keep disliking me. But looking at you, it seems you don’t dislike me anymore, oh, I’m so happy! If you’re that eager, Elias, how about we start then—"

Honestly, Quinn felt like she was about to disgust herself...

Seeing Quinn’s lips about to descend, Elias furrowed his brows, a surge of aversion rising from within, he pushed her away.

Quinn saw her plan succeeded and quickly took the opportunity to wrap her blanket around her and slipped onto the floor gleefully, "Since you like the bed so much, I, the big woman, won’t bicker with a little man like you. I’ll sleep on the floor, how does that sound?"

Elias then realized he’d been played, but looking at Quinn’s behavior, he felt even more conflicted.
