CHAPTER 54: CHAPTER 54: ONE OF THE INVESTORS

Originally, him asking her out amidst this storm already left her puzzled, and his words further confused her. Could he really be planning to confess to her?

"I’m sorry for the trouble my fans have caused you during this time. I wanted to apologize to you in person."

Dylan then looked at Quinn solemnly and said, "I’m sorry."

Quinn was momentarily taken aback, then suddenly realized and smiled gently, "It’s okay, I don’t really care."

"Really?"

Dylan was half-convinced. The previous Savannah Lowell wasn’t such an easygoing person.

"Do you think I seem like I’m troubled now? Those comments can’t hurt me. You don’t need to apologize to me. Instead, it’s me who should thank you for teaching me so many acting skills."

After saying this, Quinn lightly sipped her coffee with a carefree demeanor.

Dylan shook his head seeing this, "There’s no need for politeness between us, after all, we share the same plight."

Quinn knew he was referring to them both being artists controlled by the same exploitative company.

The two clicked instantly, couldn’t help but clink their cups, and both felt better.

Just in time for filming, they both returned to the crew together.

Because The Sinclair Group’s business scope is very wide, covering almost every industry, and now the film industry is thriving, many businesses are investing in film projects, and The Sinclair Group is no exception.

Elias Sinclair had arrived early at the crew where Quinn was located to discuss collaboration with the director.

"Pleasure working with you."

After the collaboration discussion, both parties shook hands happily.

Unexpectedly, as Elias turned his head, he happened to see Quinn and Dylan walking side by side, which reminded him of online gossip.

The director saw Quinn and Dylan walking over and immediately called them over along with Ariana Lynch and other main creators.

When she saw Elias, Quinn frowned deeply, her face full of displeasure.

"Let me introduce to everyone, this is one of the investors of our ’Misty Rain’, Mr. Elias Sinclair from The Sinclair Group."

Everyone walked over, and the director eagerly introduced Elias Sinclair, as he is the investor, the one with the power and decision-making authority.

These artists are eager to get themselves recognized early by him, so as to avoid any mishaps in the future.

If there was any unpleasantness between them, leading to replacements or withdrawal of funds, it would all be a waste of effort and resources, which would be a huge loss.

After the introduction, there was a round of applause from around, welcoming Elias Sinclair’s arrival.

Quinn was incredibly surprised, staring directly at Elias Sinclair, not quite understanding why, out of so many projects to invest in, it had to be hers.

After the applause, Elias Sinclair did not pay heed, making the atmosphere awkward and filled with a cold air.

"Mr. Sinclair, hello, I’m Dylan, the male lead in ’Misty Rain’."

To ease the atmosphere, Dylan took the initiative to greet Elias Sinclair and extended his hand.

Out of courtesy, Elias Sinclair gave a slight handshake, then said nothing further.

Seeing this, the other actors also introduced themselves, especially Ariana Lynch.

"Mr. Sinclair, hello, I’m Ariana Lynch, the female lead of this play."

Ariana Lynch immediately moved in front of Elias Sinclair, subtly pushing the actress next to him to the back.

Elias Sinclair glanced at Ariana Lynch, finding her quite familiar, but for unimportant people, he really wasn’t that concerned.

After introducing herself, Elias Sinclair merely nodded slightly in acknowledgment and did not speak.

"Mr. Sinclair, thank you for investing in our play. My father recently mentioned a desire to collaborate with The Sinclair Group, and I hope you’ll consider it."

Ariana Lynch kept trying to make her presence felt, even revealing her identity on purpose.

"Your father is?" Elias Sinclair furrowed his brows. He hadn’t intended to take notice of the person before him but didn’t want to offend industry people either, as The Sinclair Group’s reputation was quite good.

"Nicholas Lockwood, Chairman of The Lockwood Group," Ariana Lynch immediately replied.

But Quinn suddenly clenched her fists, her normally serene eyes gradually filled with hatred, staring intently at Ariana Lynch.

How shameless she is, claiming that he’s her father without a trace of shame. Doesn’t her conscience hurt?

Elias mentally noted these two names, suddenly recalling the recent news about The Lockwood Group reclaiming a long-lost daughter.

When it was Quinn’s turn to introduce herself, she seemed to be pondering something, standing still, making the director have no choice but to remind her.

Until Dylan pinched her from behind, Quinn finally came to, looking at the director with a puzzled face.

"Do a self-introduction!" The director contained his anger, showing a ’disappointed yet tolerant’ attitude.

Quinn stared at Elias Sinclair, not wanting to greet him, but for the sake of the crew, reluctantly said, "Hello, Mr. Sinclair," and stopped talking.

Everyone was surprised, yet Elias Sinclair sneered inside, showing nothing but disdain on his face.

After some self-introductions, the assistant director quickly approached the director, whispered something in his ear, causing the director to pause, then smile at Elias Sinclair saying,

"Mr. Sinclair, I apologize; the crew needs to catch up on scenes, and the actors need to get ready. How about I have someone show you around to get familiar with the environment first?"

The director cautiously tested Elias Sinclair, as he is the investor, not daring to offend easily.

Elias Sinclair nodded arrogantly and did not speak.

At this moment, Ariana Lynch and Dylan were called over by the assistant director, as the next scene was an important emotional scene between the male and female leads, meaning both were indispensable.

The director glanced at Quinn, his eyes twinkling, and then pushed her in front of Elias Sinclair, "Mr. Sinclair, since it’s like this, why not let Savannah accompany you? After all, she is the second female lead, and it might be good to discuss the script with you."

Later on, both he and the assistant director needed to focus on the camera, with the male and female leads needing to film, so Quinn was the best choice now. Moreover, she had been the most troublesome before, and the director wanted her to take this opportunity to leave a good impression on Elias Sinclair.

"Me?" Quinn pointed at herself, looking puzzled at the director.

"Yes, you. Entertain Mr. Sinclair well, I’m heading over now," the director said impatiently, then turned and nodded at Elias Sinclair before rushing over to keep an eye on the camera positions.
