Rebirth of the Movie Queen: Mrs. Sinclair, Please Hug Me!
Chapter 55: I Can Do It
CHAPTER 55: CHAPTER 55: I CAN DO IT
After the director left, only Elias Sinclair and Quinn Lockwood remained. Quinn stared at her shoes silently, unwilling to give Elias a tour, and Elias made no move either.
"Let’s go."
After a moment, Quinn remained unmoved. Elias broke the awkwardness by speaking up and then strode forward.
Quinn sighed helplessly and had no choice but to follow. This was a task assigned to her by the director, and she couldn’t refuse, otherwise people would say she was difficult and had a bad attitude.
She had worked hard to restore her image and couldn’t afford to lose it because of him.
"Why did you invest in our show?"
Quinn caught up to Elias, walking side by side. Out of curiosity, she asked, though her tone was flat, as if she were asking a stranger.
Her attitude made Elias’s eyes darken, reminding him of her smiling expression when she had approached with Dylan Quinn, causing a bit of annoyance in his heart.
"So you moved out of the Sinclair Family because you found someone new."
Elias didn’t answer Quinn’s previous question but instead mocked her with hidden meaning.
The company’s decision-making process didn’t require him to explain anything to her; instead, she, as the Sinclair Family’s granddaughter-in-law, should have clarified things to him.
Upon hearing this, Quinn knew he was referring to her rumored affair with Dylan but pretended not to hear.
Anyway, he always thought she was acting, so why bother explaining and wasting words, especially since she had already moved out of the Sinclair Family. Opportunities to interact in the future would be even fewer, so there was no need to explain.
Quinn remained unfazed, which further confirmed Elias’s assumptions.
Indeed, it was another act, using a third party to make him jealous, then smoothly using public opinion to get him to pick her up from the Lowell Family and move back to the Sinclair Family.
This move was well played.
"No matter if you’re trying to play hard-to-get or take the act to reality, always remember not to disgrace the Sinclair Family."
Elias impatiently warned.
Actually, he didn’t even know why he felt so agitated at the moment, but it seemed like every time he saw Quinn, he felt this way.
This woman was truly persistent.
At the same time, Quinn’s thoughts were also such.
"Savannah Lowell, you’re up next," the assistant director called for Quinn to come and film the scene.
"Coming."
Quinn immediately ran over, completely ignoring Elias.
She had just been thinking she couldn’t be bothered to explain to Elias, but now she was in a state of compulsion where she couldn’t offend him. The assistant director’s call saved her.
Once on stage, Quinn immediately entered filming mode.
This scene featured her falling into the water, which was a turning point in the drama, so the director hoped she could perform extraordinarily like last time and surprise him.
"Splash!"
After smoothly delivering her lines, Quinn suddenly leaned back, falling straight into the water.
However, due to poor posture, she fell in a very awkward manner. Naturally, this take couldn’t be used.
"Cut. Alright, get ready for the next take."
After the director gave instructions, the staff immediately brought towels to wipe the water off Quinn.
Currently, the weather wasn’t warm, though it wasn’t the height of a cold winter either. Autumn had arrived, and leaves had started to fall; the season was one of chilling winds.
With the scene filmed outdoors and in cold water, Quinn couldn’t help but shiver several times when she emerged from the water.
Once ready, Quinn fell into the water again but still couldn’t grasp her emotions right and failed to deliver what the director wanted.
After it went poorly several times in a row, with the director not calling "action," Quinn felt herself getting colder and colder.
"Cut. Can you keep going, or should we use a stunt double? You can just do facial expressions later on."
The director expressed concern, as it was only the beginning, and there were many scenes of dialogue between the first and second female leads later on. If Quinn fell ill at this point, it wouldn’t be worth it.
Elias watched Quinn silently from a distance, waiting for her response.
Quinn rubbed her slightly reddened nose and said, "No need, I can handle it."
If she wanted to present the best work to the audience, how could she use a stunt double? Besides, she wasn’t as extravagant as Savannah Lowell.
After saying this, the staff on site gave her approving nods. Many third-tier stars loved to act like divas with countless stunt doubles and couldn’t take even a little hardship. She was quite brave.
Elias squinted thoughtfully, gradually thinking that maybe this woman wasn’t really acting, as she had no reason to torment herself just to go against him.
After several takes, Quinn’s perfect expression of falling into the water deeply impressed the director, and finally, they completed this difficult water scene.
Everyone was cheering for Quinn, and Elias still felt a strange sensation in his heart and couldn’t help but walk over to the director, pretending to pay attention to details and casually initiating a discussion.
"As far as I know, Savannah Lowell has always been willful, but she really surprised me just now."
Elias casually probed, actually wanting to ask if Quinn still displayed previous diva-like behavior or bullied others.
Upon hearing his remark, the director nodded, thinking nothing more, simply feeling that Elias was viewing Quinn from an investor’s perspective. Thus, he replied honestly.
"Recently, she has indeed changed a lot and has become amiable."
Elias furrowed his brows, somewhat in disbelief.
He’d rather believe Quinn’s acting had taken a further step, even deceiving the director.
After the water scene, many people had a new impression of Quinn, thinking she had reformed and was different from before, gradually getting closer to her.
Having people to talk to within the crew, not being excluded and suspected as before, naturally improved Quinn’s mood greatly.
"Wow, did you make all these?" Looking at the five big boxes of small cakes, one of the young actors in the crew spoke with surprise, not having expected that Quinn could actually bake cakes.
Upon hearing this, everyone gathered around. The cakes looked good just by appearance, and filming wasn’t particularly well-fed, leaving most of the crew salivating. However, they still had some doubts about Quinn’s culinary skills.
"I made all these myself. If you don’t mind, please try them out." Quinn said and handed out the cakes to the crew.
In her past life, she always liked to study health-related topics, so she knew a thing or two about healthful dishes and had made them at home to bring and share with the crew.
"Wow, these are so delicious."
The young actor cautiously tasted a bite and immediately complimented, then stuffed the entire cake into her mouth.
"Really?"
