Rebirth of the Movie Queen: Mrs. Sinclair, Please Hug Me!
Chapter 60: Standing Up for Justice
CHAPTER 60: CHAPTER 60: STANDING UP FOR JUSTICE
Quinn Lockwood spoke as she presented the script in her hand to the director, pointing out mistake after mistake.
"This..."
The director frowned, immediately called the scriptwriter to verify, and to his surprise, it really was a printing error.
The scriptwriter had originally written three lines, later felt unsatisfied and cut it down to two, but the stage manager failed to notice and sent out the previous draft, causing the misunderstanding.
"Director, how is it?"
Quinn and those around her waited anxiously with anticipation.
"Ahem," the director hung up the phone slowly, somewhat sheepishly, saying, "It was indeed a misunderstanding. The stage manager accidentally sent out the discarded script."
Upon hearing this, everyone breathed a sigh of relief. Quinn pointed to the actor who had been scolded and asked, "So he was wrongly accused?"
The director nodded, and the actor who had been scolded couldn’t hold back his tears. Quinn patted his shoulder to show comfort.
The truth was revealed, and people around couldn’t help but give Quinn a thumbs-up.
If it wasn’t for her, this incident might have been left unresolved, with no one standing up for an actor with only two lines.
Meanwhile, Elias Sinclair himself did not notice that his gaze upon Quinn was gradually softening.
The Sinclair Family’s old mansion.
Elias Sinclair had just returned home from the set, only to see Grandpa Sinclair standing at the door with a stern face and leaning on a cane.
"Why didn’t you notify us when you were coming back?"
Elias was slightly surprised. Grandpa Sinclair always hurriedly informed them upon his return, wanting Elias and Savannah Lowell to pick him up,
afraid neither of them would show up. Why was he being so low-key now?
"You’re audacious enough to come back." Grandpa Sinclair angrily tapped the floor with his cane.
Elias frowned, puzzled, wondering if he had done something to anger his grandfather again.
"Where did you take my granddaughter-in-law?"
Grandpa Sinclair frowned. He had originally planned to give Quinn Lockwood a surprise, so he didn’t tell them about his return.
Unexpectedly, upon returning home, he found the house empty, with no trace of Quinn. Checking the room, he realized Quinn had left, and he was nearly infuriated.
"She moved back to The Lowell Family."
Speaking of this, Elias inexplicably felt a bit irritated. Facing his grandfather’s questioning, he felt somewhat guilty. Although Quinn wanted to leave on her own, he hadn’t stopped her, which seemed slightly like fueling the issue.
"What, you must have bullied her while I was away, didn’t you? Why are you still standing here? Go bring her back for me!"
Grandpa Sinclair looked at Elias with frustration, thinking this child, didn’t know who he resembled in character.
Compelled by Grandpa Sinclair’s pressure, Elias had no choice but to turn and leave.
Strangely enough, despite knowing the usual outcome every time, he didn’t find an excuse to delay this time.
Nina Sinclair overheard the conversation between Grandpa Sinclair and Elias, immediately called Freya Caldwell to report it.
Upon hearing the news, Freya rushed to the set without further ado and found Quinn ahead of anyone else.
"Stop right there." Freya blocked Quinn, who was heading to the dressing room to change.
Seeing Freya, Quinn frowned in displeasure, wondering why it was her again and what she wanted this time.
"I’m warning you, you can’t go back to The Sinclair Family, or else I’ll make you pay, do you hear?" Freya glared fiercely at Quinn.
Quinn paused, then shook her head helplessly and ignored Freya, taking her clothes and heading straight into the dressing room.
This child’s heart was indeed set on Elias Sinclair.
Freya was naturally in a bad mood after being snubbed by Quinn, but to prevent Elias from taking Quinn back to The Sinclair Family, she had no choice but to stay and wait.
The entire crew was preparing for the next scene, and Freya wandered around idly.
The director noticed and quickly approached to greet her, "Miss Caldwell, what brings you here?"
Freya’s father was also one of the investors in the film, and their collaboration project with the Sinclair Group included an investment in this film.
The director naturally recognized Freya but didn’t expect the precious daughter of The Caldwell Family to willingly come to the dusty, chaotic set.
"I..."
Freya was momentarily stunned. She couldn’t blatantly say she was waiting for Elias to stop him from taking Quinn back; that would be embarrassing for The Caldwell Family.
"Ahem." Freya intentionally coughed twice and then casually said, "My father asked me to check the progress of the film. Why, am I not allowed to come?"
"No, no, no, of course not, you’re more than welcome. Feel free to look around."
The director quickly said with a smile, wary of offending any investor.
"Would you like me to find someone to accompany you?"
The director cautiously inquired.
Freya looked around, thinking it would be inconvenient if someone followed her when Elias arrived. She politely declined the director’s offer.
"No need. I’m just here for a quick look and will be leaving soon. Please, don’t mind me and go about your work."
Upon hearing this, the director breathed a sigh of relief and nodded with a smile, "Alright, if you need anything, please contact our assistant director."
He pointed to the assistant director who was directing nearby.
Freya followed his gaze and unexpectedly saw Elias from afar, her eyes widening instantly.
So, he really came.
"Alright, got it." Freya said and immediately headed towards Elias.
Seeing Freya walking towards him, Elias frowned, "What are you doing here?"
"Why can’t I be here? Don’t forget, my father is also one of the investors in this film." Freya said smugly, hinting that she was the one who matched his status the best.
Elias paid her no attention, his main goal now was to find Quinn and bring her back, otherwise, he couldn’t face Grandpa Sinclair.
Looking around, he didn’t see Quinn; he only saw the crew preparing for the next scene.
Elias casually stopped a minor actor and asked, "Where are the lead actors of this film?"
To avoid suspicion, he didn’t directly inquire about Quinn, choosing to be vague instead.
"Mr. Sinclair, today’s shoot is only for Savannah Lowell. She just changed her clothes and is in the dressing room."
The minor actor inadvertently revealed Quinn’s whereabouts to Elias.
Elias nodded and headed straight to the dressing room.
Seeing this, Freya immediately stopped him, "What do you want with her?"
Though she knew the answer, she still wanted to hear Elias say it himself.
"Get out of the way."
Elias’s eyes filled with contempt as he coldly spoke; perhaps after Savannah Lowell, she was the second woman he despised the most.
